So im in a 1-2 game the other day in the back room of a local bar. Im utg with cowboys, and plan to call raise or see a cheap flop to fold the boys if an ace flops. So as usual everyone is in for the cheap see, and the cutoff raises to $35, leaving himself with about $50 (This is a loose game with bad plaqyers and people aren't worried about camoflauging thier hands) I know this guy and I know with out a doubt he has jacks or queens. I decide to single him out and push all in for $120. Everyone folds until Leo. Now Leo is one position in front of the cutoff, and is going through great thought about what to do with his $83 in chips.( I know Leo for a few years, and he is bar none one of the worst poker players Ive ever seen in a live game. You know the kind that buys in ffor table min and getts lucky about once every 4 or 5 weeks but usually looses 5 or six min buyins and leaves considering it a fun night.) So I think, shit hes got AT or something dumb like that and is thinking about it..... yada yada yada, he calls with AT the queens call and an ace peels off.... and the donkey reigns it in.

It happens to all of us and anyone can argue how bad my play was. but heres the deal.... After the hand is over Leo says, (and I quote) "If I knew yall had hands like that I never would have called." I couldn't resist and I said," Well, we did tell you, weren't you reading the chips?" I uselly don't tap the fish bowl, but don't think Leo got it anyway.

Remember everything you do at the poker table tells a story. either its a true story or a lie, but it is still a story, just be careful to make sure your opponents are smart enough to understand the story you are telling.

Hi guys,
I always play online and am going to compete in a b+m tournament (not high stakes!!) in a local sports club....any advice😟

I have played a lot of home games...but friendlies only (family / friends - small stakes)

I know "how" to play but i notice a lot of players on TV when playing live seem to play some odd cards and invest a lot with hands i wouldn't overly rate.

just basically looking for advice for the change over from online to bricks and mortar.

Thx in advance

There are probably 500,000 online poker players in New Jersey alone,” said state Sen. Raymond Lesniak (D-Union), the sponsor of the new bill, “and we’re missing out on around $100 million in revenue.”

The introduction of the bill — one of the first in the country to explicitly legalize and regulate online poker and other forms of Internet gambling within the boundaries of a single state — comes the same month as reports that New Jersey casinos had suffered their worst year since 1997. The gaming industry raised $3.9 billion in 2009, a 13.2 percent decline from 2008.

Lesniak’s bill would allow New Jersey residents to gamble online — and not just at poker. Online blackjack and baccarat would also be explicitly legal, and all casino revenue from the new games would be taxed at 20 percent — 12 percent higher than the top tax rate of any current casino. The state senator has introduced a separate bill to legalize sports betting in New Jersey, both in casinos and online.

Hopefully it will pass, shame its not for everyone (I don't live in NJ), but it seems like its headed that way, at least from what I read from PPA. At least there is some support in US Senate and House. Would love to be able to dep. money hassle free and know I don't have to worry about it. Would this bill also allow online poker sites to operate from NJ?

When is it? This sat? Why isn't the bodog forum in the poker room section? I know they do more than poker but I think here think of it as a poker room. Any way, looking forward to freeroll, good luck.

Jennifer Harman always has been a class act when it comes to giving back to her community and helping those who need it the most. So perhaps it isn’t surprising that the pro poker player has offered to donate 1 percent of her future poker earnings to the NephCure Foundation, an organization that funds research for life-threatening kidney diseases.

For more information on the Nephcure Foundation, go to nephcure.org

Your last post was made in 2008, not bad!

We have new rules regarding poker freerolls and members needs to be active on the forums in order to get registered/listed in the tournaments.

Why the Obama statement by the way ?

The UIGEA is set to come into affect on June 1st, after a six month delay to the original plans. However another piece of legislation is being debated in Congress, one that will legalize and regulate online poker and effectively render the UIGEA null and void. At this time it remains to be seen whether the counter will prove successful with the Washington Post stating “Gambling opponents say Democrats are unlikely to muster support during such a contentious year, but proponents say that changing mores and the prospect of new tax revenue give the effort a better chance than at any other time in recent memory.”

We are just a few weeks into 2010 and Patrik Antonius is already among the year's biggest losers. In fact, he's the second biggest loser. only Brian Townsend having a worse year thus far.

ust about every big name in online poker was at the high-stakes tables on Super Bowl Sunday, but in the end it was Patrik Antonius who booked the top spot with a $577k win.

Antonius's first match started in the early morning hours Sunday on his personal $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha table against world1969.

Rumored to be Johnny "World" Hennigan, world1969 lasted only 16 hands against Antonius before losing a $212k pot and leaving the match down $191k.

The Finnish former tennis player and one time model has won over $2.5 million in live tournament play to date but is mostly observed through his online play. In November 2009 Antonius won the biggest pot in online poker history worth $1,356,946 against Isildur1.

Antonius made news during the 2009 World Series of Poker when he was turned away along with hundreds of others due to a capacity field.

Last year he was the biggest winner in online cash games, winning over 9 million dollars! What a fiasco that was at the WSOP, screwing up the seating schedule and having to turn away like 500 players, Antonius being one of them. This year it looks like it will move to another venue, reportedly the Hard Rock Casino. :dirol

Im looking real forward to this one.

Meant to title "new ultimate" not "no ultimate" oh well. Also wanted to add this thought.

The great thing is its easy to qualify, and doesn't take much or any effort for the regular player. So a drawing for tickets and 5k freeroll.

The way i see it the tickets are pretty much a lottery, however it says 1 ticket per person. Which is better than full tilts insane promos where they have unlimited tickets.

Then the freeroll is a simple as playing 5 sngs, all part of my regular play.

Looking forward to this. Well done bodog.
