Gus “The Great Dane” Hansen have been having a terrible downswing playing online poker this year. But after a long session yesterday it seems like he might be turning it around after ending up the biggest winner at Full Tilt Poker over the last 24 hours.

After having played 1701 hands Gus Hansen ended up making a profit of $321.217.

Pro Gus Hansen did not have his A game running. In addition to that, some of the best high stakes players in the world were in the right place at the right time to take Gus Hansen’s money.

It looked like they were taking turns to see who could take the biggest amount of money from Gus. He was losing money at a rate that was a little short of two blinds per hand, which might not sound that bad, but when the blinds are $400, the numbers at the end of 910 hands are not easy on the eye and even less on the bankroll. Gus Hansen finished the day with a lost of $725K.

The tournament will feature $4.55 million in prizes divided between 14 separate events. There are flavors for every online poker aficionado to delight in including Pot-Limit Omaha, Seven-Card Stud, Turbo, Six-Max and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo.

Players from around the world have come to Europe’s largest online poker room to scrap for the big ECOOP prize money since it began in December of 2007. Since the ECOOP began, the prizes have significantly increased, beginning at a whopping $2.5 million in prizes and now up to a cool $4.55 million, it’s unbelievable to think of what Titan could do to up the prize pool further.

The crown jewel of the tournament is the $1,500+$80 main event taking place on December 6, featuring $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes. With events running from November 23 through December 6, there is plenty of time to get caught up in the high stakes online poker tournament action.

Satellites are already going for the 25 FTOPS events, including the new FTOPS XIV Warm Up, which offers players a chance to satellite into the $535 buy-in FTOPS Main Event. Players can buy in to the Warm Up directly for $5 + $.50 or can win their seats via super satellite for as little as $.50 or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Poligraph - won the Main event of August’s FTOPS XIII and netted $453,663 for the victory. With a $2.5 million guarantee on the FTOPS XIV Main Event, a similarly large first place prize will be in order and with a total of $16 million in guaranteed prize money there should be several six figure payouts spread across the events. In August James “bob2bob” Page took home the Player of the Series honor after a stellar two weeks of tournament play, including an impressive three final table appearances. This series ,the tournament leaderboard will once again be in effect, with the top performer of the series earning a custom Full Tilt avatar and a prize package of buy-ins to FTOPS XV event (minus the $2,500 buy-in 2-day event).

Those whose bankrolls aren’t hearty enough to handle a full schedule of FTOPS events have a month to try and satellite their way in, or they can take part in the next installment of the Mini-FTOPS, which is scheduled to run from December 9th-20th.

The FTOPS XIV festivities kick off with a $200 + $16 6-handed No Limit Hold’em event with a $1 million guarantee and will wrap up with the Main Event, which will run on Sunday November 15th.

Here is the complete lists of events for FTOPS XIV:

Got a mail from pkr sayin he's playing in there next "big" tourney...along with some other ft pros..

from the mail:
Tom 'durrrr' Dwan. Annette Obrestad. JC Tran. Phil Laak. Antonio Esfandiari. Peter Eastgate.

These are just some of the world class names already confirmed for the next big thing in TV poker, the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam.

Durrr should sign with FTP and get some money from them. He's already associated with the brand. Or else whore himself out to the highest bidder. No reason for a guy like that to leave money on the table...

From what I heard he lost 4.9 million in the last year to FullTilt... Rumors have been flying around like crazy but yet to be truely confirmed....

Well at least he can win something... online is not the place for him... only Live play will do him well.

Full Tilt recently announced the schedule of its newest series, which will feature 25 events running from Nov. 4-15. The series boasts more than $16 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The highlights of the series will undoubtedly be the $535 main event on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. ET and the special $2,620 two-day event with antes from the start that begins on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. ET.

While there are seven events priced at a minimum of $535, the series will host at least seven $216 events, as well as a couple smaller buy-ins — such as a $109 no-limit hold’em rebuy event on Nov. 7, a $109 pot-limit Omaha rebuy event on Nov. 14, and a $129 no-limit hold’em knockout event on Nov. 15.

As usual, the majority of the events will be hold’em, but even those events come with quite a variety. There will be six-max tourneys, triple and quadruple shootouts, knockouts, a heads-up tourney, rebuys, a rebuy and add-on tourney, a turbo event, a limit tourney, and an event with antes from the start.

FTOPS XIV will also feature events in stud eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha (both six-max and full ring), pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better, H.O.R.S.E., and razz.

Hosts for the tournaments have not yet been named.

I always thought that the Face the Ace Promo was an interesting one. But talk about pressure for the amateur that gets into this: Not only are they facing Pros but doing so on TV. I wonder just how many that make it there will choke?
Just my .02 cents
