2. She must be a strong contributor to the poker world including winning tournaments or having had a strong impact to the industry.

The legal team at major online poker firm Full Tilt Poker.com will be celebrating a successful week in which the company prevailed in two US courtrooms.

In the first case, two California players who were banned and had winnings confiscated failed in their civil case against the giant poker site. Lary Kennedy and Greg Omotoy sued Full Tilt last year for false advertising, libel and fraud, alleging that the company had unlawfully seized over $80 000 from their accounts after accusations that they were illegally using bot software.

Full Tilt dismissed the action as"frivolous" and "baseless", claiming: “Both of these player accounts were appropriately terminated for multiple violations of the express terms and conditions governing fair and lawful play in the Full Tilt Poker online virtual cardroom, including their own admissions of using multiple accounts.” The company also drew attention to the lack of cooperation received from the claimants during its investigation.

The case was thrown out by the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles.

Poker and the World Series of Poker's expansion into one of the most universal pastimes continued Monday as the WSOP has scheduled another tournament stop just a hair outside of its home in Las Vegas, South Africa.

The WSOP has scheduled a stop at South Africa's Emerald Resort and Casino, which resides close to the country's Vaal River. Expect two tourneys to go down from October 24-31, 2010.

The first tournament will be a $1,100 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha tournament with $300 re-buys; this tournament will be capped at 200 players. The second tournament will be a $5,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem tournament that will be capped at 500 players. The “Main Event” will take place over the final four days of the tournament series.

“Poker has, over the past half-decade, accelerated in popularity," Emerald Resort and Casino CEO Martin Rice said in a press release. "Our Emerald Poker Series, and its growing fields, is testament to the unlimited success of the sport. It was only natural to follow-on its popularity with the greatest tournament on the planet.”

And if you're thinking this spot will be a couple of tables sitting next to lions and elephants you've been watching too many movies.

This spot, along with it's slew of slot machines and casino tables, boasts a waterpark, bowling alley and an animal world. Not to mention six poker tables which offers numerous tourney's throughout the year.

This will be the first major tournament to take place in Africa, and should open up professional poker and the WSOP to an entirely new market.

We hope World Poker Tour champion David Williams likes fish & chips because he could be defending his championship in London, England.

The WPT has scheduled stops in London later this year with the World Poker Tour London Classic. The upmarket Mayfair area, and specifically the Palm Beach Casino in the Mayfair Hotel, will be the venue for the action, which will take place between August 29 and September 5 2010.

“London is a great poker destination and has always been a major target in our ongoing expansion," WPT president Adam Pliska said. “We’re thrilled to have found amazing partners in The Palm Beach Casino, Genting UK and The MayFair Hotel London."

Main event action is to be capped at 400 players, and will cost about GBP 5, 300.

The cool thing about London hosting such a prestigious event is that immediately after the WSOPE and EPT London immediately follow it. It starting to look like London is building a poker empire that will only be rivaled by Las Vegas, Nevada.

The WPT made this move not long after the World Series of Poker decided to hold an event in South Africa. Further proof that poker is exploding worldwide.

Maybe we'll be seeing the WPT in the middle of the Kongo next.

There is less than one month less before the deadline comes around for the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. US politicians are working around the clock to do all they can to at least push off this date temporarily, and no personality has had a stronger presence in this battler than Barney Frank.

This week, there was some good news for Frank who learned that he had two new co-sponsors for his bill that essentially proposed the regulation of online poker and gambling. Two Democratic representatives announced that they would be joining the other 66 who have already shown their solidarity for Frank’s untiring efforts.

Our latest addition to the Bodog Poker Pro team is living proof that a little confidence and a lot of dedication can definitely take you places.

Enter, Amanda Musumeci, a 25-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who worked her way up the ranks of our online poker tournament schedule (where she bagged over $200K!) to being awarded with a one-year contract as the new Bodog Poker Pro.

Check out Team Bodog for more info on Amanda Musumeci and Evelyn Ng, poker's hottest pair!

Amanda started out like most newcomers to the online poker scene, playing in sit-n-go tournaments. That was where she was able to sharpen her poker skills before going on to win several multi-table tournaments and guaranteed poker tournaments. (See Bodog's daily tournament schedule!)

So was it her charm, her poker skills or her perseverance that lead her to the Bodog Poker Pro team? Well, it was all of the above — as well as an impressive bid on Bodog’s Facebook page that made her stand out from the rest and bring home an opportunity of a lifetime.

According to Musumeci, “When you respond to an opportunity like this, no matter how confident you are in yourself and your abilities, there’s always a little nagging doubt in the back of your mind. So when Bodog showed a genuine interest in me, I was ecstatic. I’ve spent most of my online poker career playing at Bodog-com, and getting the chance to play as a pro for my favorite room was the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Look for Amanda under the player name “BodogMander” the next time you find yourself in Bodog's online poker room. Welcome to the Bodog family, Amanda! (Are you sure you're ready for this, Manda?!)

Looking to make history playing online poker? Join us in the Bodog Poker Room today.

Guess that's the advantage of waiting to play final table. It did just end 6i month's ago, instead of a year.

If you won the huge World Series of Poker grand prize what would you do with the cash? We assume go on some crazy spending spree that would rival any Lil Wayne music video. But if New York poker player and entrepreneur Michael Karnjanaprakorn wins it all, he'll be giving all to the people.

Karnjanaprakorn has made a vow, if he wins the 2010 WSOP he's giving it all to charity. This is the same promise he made along with Rafe Furst during the 2009 WSOP.

Furst has raised money and awareness for cancer research via their poker and Rock Paper Scissors efforts over the years.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, Karnjanaprakorn has to win the whole thing. And with thousands expected to be at the Rio hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada he has a tough task ahead. And there's the $10,000 he needs for the buy in. He's trying to raise the cash, under the title of “World Series of Good." Poker Pros Annie Duke and “Poker After Dark” host Ali Nejad have offered to help train Karnjanaprakorn to win.

Karnjanaprakorn’s chosen charities are the Langston Hughes Academy, an elementary and middle school charter program located in New Orleans, and the Bad Beat on Cancer group, founded by Furst and Gordon in 2003.

Whether you want to keep the cash or win it all for charity you can get all the chances to win your buy-in to the WSOP by competing in the Bodog Poker room!
