Online gambling operator PartyGaming said Wednesday that its fourth-quarter revenue rose 32% to $132.2 million, helped by acquisitions as well as a strong performance in its online casino and sports betting arms. The group said adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization and now likely to be slightly ahead of the board's expectations. New player sign-ups in the quarter rose 3% to around 213,000.

Playtech - one of the world's largest online gambling software developers, is apparently positioning itself to power online casinos in the US. While Playtech hasn't accepted US players since the passage of the UIGEA, many observers think that regulation of Internet casinos by the US is just a matter of time.

I love the Superbowl commercials almost as much as the game. I look the banned ones up each year and they are hilarious. Check them out if you like. The GoDaddy ones are my favorite. X

It's been years since I watched a Superbowl. I'm glad the internet makes it possible for me to still see the commercials. I think it's funny that some of those were banned.

Singapore's first casino won regulatory approval to open, paving the way for the debut of gambling in the squeaky clean city-state as early as next week's Lunar New Year holiday.

Singapore's Casino Regulatory Authority posted a notice announcing the approval of the license Saturday. While the approval was expected, its timing was unclear. Lim Kok Thay, chairman of Resorts World Sentosa said in a statement that he was "happy to have received the casino license."

Nevada casinos won almost $6.9 million on this year's Super Bowl as bettors wagered $82.7 million on the NFL title game, gambling regulators said Tuesday.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board said the win was $179,000 more than sports books won last year, on $1.21 million more in bets.

The underdog New Orleans Saints beat the favored Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in the Sunday game.

It's a little like the 'chicken and the egg' story; Single Zero Roulette and Double Zero Roulette, which came first? Which one is better? And more importantly, which one do you prefer to play?

Double Zero Roulette was the first to appear on the scene, but for obvious reasons (known to roulette players) Single Zero Roulette is preferred because the house edge is lower. Oddly enough, while most casinos in Vegas have been offering Double Zero Roulette, there's been a shift to bring in Single Zero Roulette as a way of attracting more players to the game.

Which Do You Prefer?

With a house advantage of 5.26 percent on the due to double zeros, American roulette is the worst of the two roulette's. Also It does not matter which system you play, strategy you employ, or the book you read because in the long run you always loose.

The Washington Post published an interesting read earlier this week about Dems in Congress who are gunning to overturn laws that make Internet gambling illegal.

Rep. Barney Frank and others want the government to regulate cyber-wagering in poker, and mah-jong, among other games, and, of course, to cash in. Quoth the Post: "The federal government, which rarely prosecutes online gambling, would net billions of dollars in tax and licensing revenue if it were legalized, proponents say."

With over 106.5 million people tuned into this years 2010 Super Bowl there were several players who enjoyed winning. Online gambling was just one of the things available to do as you kicked back to watch the New Orleans Saints pull off the upset victory over Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Several people who signed up at Bodog were winners and not just because they bet on the Super Bowl.

There were several winners at Bodog during the game on Super Bowl Sunday. A player from Texas won $34,419 playing Caribbean Stud Poker, another player from Florida won $20,124 playing Enchanted Garden Slots.
