Confirmed reports last week that the Royal Bank of Scotland was to eschew online gambling business in regard to the Dutch and Swiss gambling markets have presented an opportunity for its chief rival Barclays group......and it looks as if the enterprising banker will exploit it to the full.

Barclays is Royal Bank of Scotland International’s main rival for the business of gambling companies licensed in the offshore jurisdictions of Alderney, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar with exposure to the Dutch and Swiss markets.

Governor Pat Quinn says he won't sign the capitol plan approved by the House and Senate last week until lawmakers can agree on a budget and plan for ethics reform. And he's hoping that could get done this week. The 26-billion dollar project would be funded by legalizing video gambling and online lottery sales, along with raising taxes on various items.

Horse owners are hitting the airwaves trying to get lawmakers to allow casino-style gambling at Kentucky's racetracks. In addition to radio ads the Kentucky Equine Education Project has sent mailers to more than 250,000 homes with information showing how the state's signature industry is in danger.
The group says the state is at risk of losing some racetracks if slots are not added.

Several other states in the region have allowed slot machines at tracks which has increased attendance and purses, drawing business from Kentucky tracks.

Leading European bookmaker Paddy Power is offering odds on the possible legalisation of internet gambling in the US. There is increasing speculation that overseas companies may return to the US if a newly drafted online gaming bill by Republican Barney Frank gains the required cross-party support.

Paddy Power are offering odds of 4/7 that the Online Gaming Bill for poker will get the green light and be signed into law by President Obama in 2009. They are also offering odds of 6/4 that the Online Gaming Bill for sports betting will be signed into law during Obama's first term.

Minnesota Representative Pat Garofalo is most certainly not in favor of online gambling, but he is worried that his state is going above their jurisdiction in trying to stop it. That is why he has introduced new legislation in the state.

Garofalo has introduced legislation that would stop the Minnesota Department of Public Safety from forcing Internet service providers to block online websites.

If you're 18, you can empty your wallet on lottery tickets, poker, and horse and dog racing.

But if you want to play a slot machine at the South Florida pari-mutuel casinos or blackjack at the Seminole casinos, you have to be 21.

(How is it that you can bet $10,000 on a dog race if you're 18, but that same person can't walk onto our casino floor and play a 5-cent slot machine?)

Lawmakers in both the House and the Senate have approved a plan that would bring legalized video gambling to state bars. Governor Pat Quinn has not yet signed off on the plan, and there is another area of gambling that could be affected should he do so.

Online gambling would become legal in Illinois if the governor approves the plan. Residents of the state would be allowed to buy lottery tickets online, with the money that is generated going to the state.

This month Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, introduced the latest version of his bill aimed at legalizing online gambling. It authorizes the treasury secretary to license websites offering poker, casino games, racetrack betting, bingo, and lotteries. Sports betting, to which the professional and college sports associations vehemently object, would remain illegal................

Illinois legislators voted this week to permit online gambling and betting by state residents. The state House approved a bill which had already advanced through the Senate allowing wagering on horse races at online sites.

(The House voted 87-27 to pass the measure)

Letourneau-Leblond made his NHL debut last season, recording an assist and 22 penalty minutes in eight appearances with New Jersey. He was recalled three times from the Devils’ AHL affiliate in Lowell, where he collected five goals, five assists and a team-high 216 penalty minutes in 60 games. Letourneau-Leblond plays the role of an enforcer and is nothing more than organizational depth for New Jersey. He is merely a flier in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for PIM when in the NHL.

The logo on top of the forum has been redesigned

The flags are supposed to make the gambling forum look "international"

The forum has also been stretched in width and it looks better now with a much easier overlook of the forum.

Hope you like it, what do you think?

I like it. It looks good.
