Amidst all the hoopla of whether Brett Favre would decide to grace us and the Minnesota Vikings with his presence was the fact that the 40-year-old man's body could break down at some point in the season.

Considering the NFL Odds in the Bodog Sportsbook had the Vikings listed as 11-1 to win the 2011 Super Bowl, oddsmakers didn't think there was any chance Favre wasn't coming back, and that his bad ankle would be a problem. Unfortunately, it beginning to look like the odds may have to be revised.

SI.com's Peter King has stated that No. 4 has been taking injections in his wounded ankle, and Favre says it could be like this all season.

"It's catching up with me, all this stuff," Favre told King.

When asked if he could last the whole year Favre, who turns 41 in October said, "I don't know. I have no idea, really."

"My ankle just seems to get easier to sprain. I know everyone thinks the New Orleans game [the NFC Championship Game] killed me, but it was bad before then. Now we'll see if I can make it. My mind's telling me one thing, but my body's telling me something else.'"

Not a good sign, especially since he's been sacked twice and turned the ball over three times in two preseason games.

I heard he was going to be on "Dancing With The Stars"

I am new to this forum site so if you think I have said something that is not allowed please let me lnow.

That being said I love the NFL season because you can play in a different number of pools. I play as many as I can find or afford. Confidence pools are my favs but I also like Spread and Survivors pools.

I myself run all three types of pools and enjoy it very much. If any one is interested in playing you can reply to this thread and I will then send you an email with the info.
If any one out there knows of any other pools out there also please reply and let me know where I can sign up.

As for football its self I am a big Raiders Fan alwasys have been good times and bad. This year I hope for some good times.

The Patriots are my sentimental favorite this coming season. I'm hoping that they can take it and go all the way.

Go Patriots😡

Football betting is back! Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings visit Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in what will be an epic rematch of last year's NFC Championship game.

NFL Odds have listed the Saints as -6 favorites, not surprising considering the Saints are at home and Favre is just a couple of weeks removed from his John Deere.

There's plenty more to bet on than just the spread for this matchup however. The Bodog Sportsbook has unleashed a bevy of NFL Team Props and NFL Player Props that make an already interesting game even better.

* Total Brett Favre Passing Yards: O/U 250.5
Considering what we've seen from No. 4 this offseason it's tough to take the OVER on this one. However, if the Saints can stop Adrian Peterson, the old gunslinger in Favre should come out.
* Total Brett Favre Interceptions: O/U 0.5
The Saints hit Favre until the rattled vet was throwing darts right to them, they'll be trying to do the same on Thursday night. However, bettors could see a more rusty, conservative Favre in Week 1.
* Total Reggie Bush Rushing/Receiving Yards: O/U 55.5
It's always a mystery as to whether we'll see superstar Bush, or bust Bush on the field from week to week. That said, he has had a promising preseason and could explode under the opening-night lights.
* Drew Brees Passing Yards: O/U 285.5
Brees is a guarantee for 4,000-plus passing yards every season, therefore it's easy to believe that the 2009 Super Bowl MVP will easily go OVER 285.5 yards. However, keep in mind in the 2009 NFC Championship Brees only had 197 passing yards in the Saints' 31-28 win over Minnesota.

It's time to get in the game and hit the field with the Bodog Sportsbook. Be a player, get in the game with NFL Odds in the Bodog Sportsbook.

According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, Philadelphia Eagles backup Michael Vick will start at quarterback on Sunday.

Kevin Kolb, who had to leave the first half of Philly's 27-20 loss to Green Bay after suffering a concussion, did pass the first stage of concussion testing Thursday. However, because he has missed the majority of the team’s game planning and practicing for the Detroit Lions this Sunday, there’s no chance he’ll play.

That could mean good things for the Eagles offense this Sunday. When Vick entered in the second half against the Packers, he made an immediate impact. The pass/run threat finished with 175 passing yards, 103 rushing yards and one touchdown.

The unsung advantage of having Vick under center is the running lanes he could open for second-year runner LeSean McCoy. With the Lions likely spying one linebacker on Vick, McCoy could more opportunities to break plays into the secondary.

Currently, NFL Odds have the Lions listed as +6 underdogs at home. This is likely due to Matthew Stafford being out with an injured shoulder and backup Shaun Hill being a below-average QB against an aggressive blitz.

Shock the world like Vick. Bet on Eagles/Lions in the Bodog Sportsbook.

The good news is the New Orleans Saints won on Monday Night Football. The bad new is they've lost running back Reggie Bush for at least six weeks according to ESPN. Oh and the Saints failed to cover the -6 spread — that's bad luck for some of you bettors out there.

Bush was fielding a punt in the Saints 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers Monday night. Unfortunately, he bobbled the catch, dove for the ball, and in the pileup had his legs were trampled. The former USC star couldn't put weight on his right leg when he emerged.

"I'm just trying not to think the worst and just try to stay as positive as I can in this situation," Bush said. "That's all you can do, hope for the best."

It's been a brutal start to Bush's 2010 NFL season. USC recently erased him from their history books after it was revealed that he was getting illegal handouts in college, then he had to give back his 2005 Heisman trophy, and now this. Maybe he should have stuck with Kim Kardashian after all.

Bush was seen on crutches after the game.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0, the San Francisco 49ers are 0-2. If you saw this coming going into Week 3 of the 2010 NFL season your pockets are probably fat right now.

Though the Chiefs definitely look improved the last two weeks, they've scored two touchdowns so far this season. Toss in San Fran's inspired performance on Monday Night Football and oddsmakers have decided to make Kansas City +2.5 underdogs in the Bodog Sportsbook.

The questions that prevent the Chiefs from truly getting "2-0 respect" is their offense. Kansas City has two touchdowns so far, quarterback Matt Cassel can't pass it more than five yards and head coach Todd Haley seems dead set on relegating his best weapon, running back Jamaal Charles, to a backup role. Instead Haley is using 32-year-old Thomas Jones to push the pile, opting for Jones' slow-and-steadiness (Jones averages 3.7 yards per carry) over Charles' explosiveness (Charles averages 6.4).

Meanwhile, the Niners are coming and considering how pissed coach Mike Singletary gets after losses (the Niners lost to New Orleans 25-22 in Week 2), they will be itching to vent all their anger at Arrowhead Stadium.

Expect a steady dose of RB Frank Gore, as the Niners want to prevent quarterback Alex Smith from throwing whenever possible.

With oddsmakers listing the Total at 36.5, don't expect a lot of scoring in this one.

This was supposed to be the Philadelphia Eagles’ unveiling of Kevin Kolb. Unfortunately, Michael Vick going Madden 11 on the Lions in Week 2 has changed things. Coach Andy Reid is rolling with the hot hand, and Vick’s hands could light a fire right now.

So how has the Michael Vick Experience changed things for oddsmakers? Well, what was once EVEN, is now +3 for the Jacksonville Jaguars at home. The NFL odds are understandable, the Jaguars rank 28th in total yards allowed and Vick is a total yards juggernaut, averaging 229.5 yards passing and 70 yards rushing – nasty.

“Michael Vick is playing out of his mind right now,” Reid said.

So how do the Jags slow down the Vick bandwagon? As impressed as we are with Vick’s development as a quarterback, he can be beaten. Vick was sacked five times against Detroit, had his share of bad passes and took his share of big hits. If the Jags can wake up at home and keep him from making Sports Center, the turnovers will come.

The Jags on offense is another story. If Philly lives up to its rep it’s going to send the house at quaterback David Garrard. Garrard can't have another four-interception day like in Week 2 or Vick will only need checkdowns to win.

* Was it right for Reid to sit Kolb for Vick? Leave your comments below!

Though Quarterback Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams were able to upset Washington 30-16 as +5 underdogs, they may have lost their best player for Week 4.
Jackson pulled his groin after racking up 64 total yards and one touchdown Sunday, he was listed as questionable for the rest of the game but did not return.
After the game head coach Steve Spagnuolo said he is "fairly certain" that S-Jax's groin is not torn — that's encouraging — but that he'll know more after an MRI Monday morning. With Jackson out unknown running back Kenneth Darby took over and did a solid job, he finished with 49 yards and one touchdown off 14 carries.
If Jackson is out next week at home against the Seattle Seahawks, the game will be on Bradford's shoulders. No doubt this could delay, and ultimately affect their NFL odds.

* Think Sam Bradford and the Rams can beat the Seahawks next week and cover without Steven Jackson? Leave your comments below!

In perhaps the most heated Winter Classic match up to date, the Washington Capitals will head to Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Not only will the game feature the traditional out-door game, it will feature the most intense personal rivalry in professional hockey.

On Saturday the Washington Capitals that they will be dusting off some old threads to wear at the game, modeled by star Alex Ovechkin. When the two clubs square off on New Year's Day, Ovechkin will have his work cut out for him against Sidney Crosby and co.

Currently the Chicago Blackhawks are deemed early favorites to win the 2011 Stanley Cup (with 6/1 odds) but sitting second and third are the Capitals and Penguins with 13/2 odds and 7/1 odds of winning the Cup respectively.

The Penguins will be without Jordan Staal early in the year, as the center attempts to recover from a lingering foot injury, but come the new year both teams should be fully loaded.

Can't wait for January to start getting excited for NHL hockey? You're in luck. On Oct. 7 the 2010-11 season will kick off with a match up between the Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes. Can the Wild, 80/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup, take down a Hurricanes squad hungry to prove they don't belong in the basement?

Fear not, Montreal Canadiens fans, as forward Mike Cammalleri's sentence has finally arrived. The 28-year-old winger will miss just one game as a result of his fiendish slash on New York Islanders rookie Nino Niederreiter.

The slash came in a preseason game in response to a previous hit to which Cammalleri took offense.

After a one game hiatus, he'll look to get back on track in a bounce back year after just 50 points in 2009-10. Twice in his career Cammalleri has topped the 80-point mark, once with the Calgary Flames and once with the Los Angeles Kings.

The Montreal Canadiens shocked the sports world last year after riding all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals as an eighth seed. There improbably run was stymied by the seventh-seeded Philadelphia Flyers.

When the 2010-11 campaign kicks off on Oct. 7, the Canadiens will have 15/1 odds of winning the 2011 Stanley Cup, according to the Bodog Sportsbook.

This year Cammalleri will join newly-appointed team captain Scott Gomez and fellow 2009-acquiree Brian Gionta as the club looks to put together a respectable follow up year to last season.

In order to meet what Habs fans expect of them, the Montreal Canadiens will turn to goaltender Carey Price who will return as the primary goalie after surrendering the gig to back up Jaroslav Halak. After a heroic playoff campaign, Halak wast traded to the St. Louis Blues.

Think the Canadiens can repeat last year's classic run to the Eastern Conference Finals? You certainly wouldn't be the only one, but it won't be easy. By betting on NHL hockey you can make sure to cash in big time if and when they do.

The Patriots traded Randy Moss back to Minnesota for a 3rd round pick. Seems like the Pats got the raw end of the deal, and it will hurt them, but the decision was made because it is better to ship him off than to have him playing unhappy. Too risky come crunch time....he's a great player but he can sulk and dog it when he feels like it. No doubt that he had a great run in New England and he is a sure Hall of Famer. Too bad he's gone (speaking as a Patriots fan), but I guess it had to be done under the circumstances.

Moss is a great talent, but a real clubhouse cancer. How long before he starts sulking if Minn doesn't give him a contract, or they start losing?

Andy Reid has problem. He’s fallen in love with two quarterbacks and he can’t commit. There’s a movie in it somewhere, but for now we’ll roll with today’s dramatic events. Reid failed to commit to Vick in a conference call after last night's win over the Falcons. Oh, snap.

All Reid said when asked about Kevin Kolb Reid simply said, “Yeah he’s the starting quarterback now."

What in the name of NFL odds does that mean exactly?

We’re not sure, but if Kolb has another great performance against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 we have a feeling Reid will jump off the Vick bandwagon faster than dog lovers.
