US poker players have one less poker site to access after American-facing website Feltstars-com suddenly shut its doors without explanation, and simply sent an email to customers stating: “The entire FeltStars Team would like to thank all of our loyal players for the years you have played on FeltStars. We are saddened to announce that we will be leaving online poker and no longer offer this service.”

Following the news, FeltStars has since reassured its customers still owed money that they would be able to transfer their funds to any of the other 70 skins located on the Merge Gaming Network, although it is believed tournament tickets and VIP points will not qualify for transfer.

Last week, another Merge Gaming Network site called Bluff Room similarly shut down its operation, but the writing was probably on the wall for Feltstars from the beginning of October after sponsored pro Pro Chris ‘Fox’ Wallace announced on his blog that he had resigned from the site because “getting paid was impossible.” Interestingly enough, after ending his association with the now defunct site which first opened in 2008, Wallace also wrote; “I actually thought about heading over to Lock poker, but then I heard that their pro team is having problems getting paid as well.”

Nevertheless, so far there are no indications that Feltstars customers will have any difficulty being reunited with their funds, unlike other less fortunate online players. For instance, this year Purple Lounge shut its doors citing financial and operational failings, and indicated that any players lucky enough to get paid may only receive a fraction of their funds and even that would take an extremely long time.

Full Tilt Poker is certainly ramping up the anticipation as its rise from the dead date draws near. On Monday, the former second largest online poker room in the world announced that it has added two more pros to its roster: Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.

Dwan and Blom, who join Gus Hansen as “The Professionals,” were two of the main attractions at Full Tilt a few years ago, competing against each other – as well as Hansen, Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, and others – at the poker room’s highest stakes tables. Many poker fans logged on each night not to play poker, but to simply railbird the nosebleed stakes games.

Tom Dwan was himself a sponsored pro of Full Tilt before it disappeared after Black Friday and was a mainstay on popular poker television shows such as “Poker After Dark” and “High Stakes Poker.” He began to take his poker skills offline a few years ago, trying his hand at live tournaments. In 2007, he finished 4th in the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals, winning $324,244. Just a couple months later, he placed 2nd in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event at the WPT Borgata Winter Open, good for $226,100. In 2010, Dwan was the center of a gigantic multi-player bracelet bet at the World Series of Poker, making some of the best players in the world sweat whenever he began amassing chips in a tournament. He came very close to making a number of players much poorer, ultimately missing a bracelet by one spot, finishing as runner-up in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event.

Viktor Blom became an online poker legend in 2009 when he routinely splashed around chips on Full Tilt’s high stakes tables night after night. Nobody know who he was, only knowing him by his screen name, “Isildur1.” According to PokerTableRatings-com, Isildur1 was involved in the ten largest pots in online poker history, winning four for a combined $3.5 million.

In January 2011, PokerStars announced at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) that it was signing Isildur1 to its team, officially revealing him as Viktor Blom. He left PokerStars in August of this year; while he gave no reason for his departure, it was widely speculated that he was going to sign with Full Tilt when it was resurrected.

At this year’s PCA, Blom won the $100,000 Super High Roller Event and finished 14th in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship at the World Series of Poker. This May, Blom dominated the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), winning two of the first three events.

In a press release, Full Tilt Poker’s Head of Marketing Sarne Lightman said of the signings, “The game of poker is always evolving. Through our continual innovations, Full Tilt Poker is proud to have been at the forefront of that evolution. In choosing our Pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played.”

Things seem to be happening in the online poker realm this year that many never believed possible. The intrastate licensing granted to South Point by the state of Nevada sounds even less far-fetched than Full Tilt Poker open for business again. But it’s true. As of November 6, 2012, Full Tilt Poker will relaunch and be open for real-money online poker business.

PokerStars, who acquired all Full Tilt Poker assets (including accounts payable to former players) confirmed the news via email that after November 6th, Full Tilt player accounts will again be active. Existing usernames passwords that players held pre-Black Friday will still work, and withdrawals will be made possible.

Also, in an effort to get the room going, Gus Hansen has been assigned as the site’s Ambassador and the face of the new, old online poker site. In addition, Full Tilt Poker has signed two big-name poker celebrity players, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Tom “durrrr” Dwan, two of the most famous online poker players in the world, Dwan being a former Full Tilt Poker pro before the Black Friday saga started. So the new Full Tilt Poker room is all set to relaunch with a bang.

The Head of Marketing at Full Tilt Sarne Lightman released a statement on the new partnerships: “The game of poker is always evolving. Through our continual innovations, Full Tilt Poker is proud to have been at the forefront of that evolution. In choosing our Pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played.”

Blom had signed with PokerStars back in 2011 following the reveal of his identity, which remained a mystery for months, generating quite a buzz about who he was and where he was from. He conveniently left Stars back in August for no apparent reason, but was now just seems as if it was part of the plan to reignite the Full Tilt Poker brand for the relaunch. He said, “I always loved playing on the Full Tilt Poker software, it is where I made my name and enjoyed some of my greatest victories. When they approached me about joining the team I knew this was the right fit for me.”

Dwan said on the rejoining, “I’m very excited that Full Tilt Poker is relaunching. I think it is great for poker and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Just yesterday, we reported that PokerStars was about to unveil the latest member of Team PokerStars Online. The online poker room gave players the opportunity to guess who the newest member would be and those guessed correctly would have a chance to win a little cash. Well, the online poker has announced the new member and anyone who guessed Isaac Haxton can look forward to the extra cash!

The online poker room announced that Haxton has now signed to Team PokerStars Online and he will join the other pros that make up the poker team. Those included are:

Shane Schleger

Randy Lew

Adrienne Rowsome

Mickey Peterson

And more!

Haxton commented on joining the online poker team by stating: “I’m excited for the new opportunities this partnership brings. I’m not just playing for myself now—I’m representing a team and a brand. That brings new opportunities and new responsibilities.”

Haxton usually plays at PokerStars under the name philivey2694 but he will now be known as Ike Haxton at the site. PokerNews recently spoke with Haxton about his career and signing with PokerStars. The pro was asked why he chose to be sponsored now, after he has had success for many years. Haxton commented:

“Honestly, I’ve been “pursuing” a sponsorship for years. I’ve entertained a lot of offers from a lot of different sites but there’s always been one reason or another that I’ve chosen not to take them. This team online deal finally brings me terms I like with a site I’m proud to endorse.”

When asked why he chose PokerStars, Haxton responded: “PokerStars has always done right by me, which is more than I can say for most of their major competitors. I had always had a good impression of Stars, but being paid promptly on Black Friday meant a lot to me and really cemented that good will.”

There is nothing that Isaac Haxton does not know about the poker game, industry, and community. Poker players know him as a formidable opponent both at online and live poker games. All serious poker players, and particularly the online poker pros, know Isaac Haxton, popularly known as Ike. This morning, it was announced at the end of a Guess Who contest organized by Team PokerStars that Haxton will soon be moving in and becoming a part of Team PokerStars. Speaking about it, Haxton said, “I’m not just playing for myself. I’m representing a team and a brand. That brings new opportunities and also new responsibilities.”

PokerStars first came across Haxton back in 2007 when he was playing the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). He beat hundreds of PCA opponents, reached the final table, and finished as the runner-up of the event while Ryan Daut emerged as the champion. Soon Haxton built a solid poker reputation and a colossal poker bankroll.

Dustin Iannotti, manager for PokerStars Team Online, said, “Ike Haxton is one of online poker’s greatest ambassadors, and he chose to sign with Team Online because he has always believed in PokerStars as a great poker company. I’m thrilled to have him on the team.”

Although Haxton is more fond of playing online poker and is every inch a professional online poker player, his live poker success is breathtaking. During the last six years, Haxton’s live poker winnings have crossed the $4 million target. In 2007, he emerged as the runner-up of the PCA Main Event and collected $861,789; in 2008, he finished sixth in the European Poker Championships £20,000 High Roller event and won $188.603; in 2009, he finished second in the WSOP $40,000 40th Anniversary Event High Roller and won $1,168,565; in 2011, he finished third in the $100k High Roller Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic and won $581,806; and in 2012, he finished third in the PCA $25k High Roller event and won $380,730. This is just a small portion of the cash prizes Haxton has won over the years, playing a wide range of live and online poker events.

Hinting at something that PokerStars is on the verge of introducing, he said, “I can’t give you full details just yet, but we’re going to have a very cool high stakes heads-up no-limit event coming soon.”

Six years back, nobody was aware of Haxton, but today he is among the top high-stakes players and heads-up experts.

Late last week, online poker room PokerStars deployed their ‘Run It Twice’ option in real money games. Players will be able to use this new feature on specific games at the real money tables at PokerStars. Over the past few weeks, the option was in testing mode and now has been approved for real money play. The new option is now available after PokerStars updated their client software, making the option open.

‘Run It Twice’ is an option that was first introduced to online poker back in 2008 via Merge Gaming. At that time, the option was titled ‘deal it twice’ and was later added to Full Tilt Poker, under a different name. The idea of the option first became popular with high stakes cash game play and the public became aware of the option thanks to reality poker shows such as High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark.

‘Run It Twice’ refers to an option that is used when two players are all-in before the river occurs. If both players are in agreement, the rest of the board will be dealt twice. If a both players are able to win once, then the pot is split between the two.

Currently the new feature is only available on a single full ring $0.50/$1 PLO Game and PokerStars has yet to announce if the feature will be available on other real money games. If players begin to use the option, it would be likely that they will offer the feature for other games.

Players will have to turn on the feature in their settings to be able to have the option during an all-in situation. Players have three opportunities to use the new feature: before the flop takes place, before the turn and before the river card.

Details have been released of Full Tilt Poker´s re-launch offers to existing real money poker players to prevent the swift withdrawal of $184 million.

The date many online poker players have been waiting for is almost upon us. On Tuesday November 6th, Full Tilt Poker will go live once again and players will have access to more than $184 million frozen in their accounts since the Alderney Gaming Control Commission suspended the online poker web site´s licence in June 2011.

Full Tilt Poker´s new owners – conscious of the fact that times are much harder financially for many players than they were sixteen months ago and fearing a major cashout frenzy – have already announced the return of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series in December and have now added a “Deal Me In” promotion to keep players at the tables when the site re-launches.

Back in June, gambling website Hollywood Poker suddenly closed its doors after eight years of operation with its customers and accounts then transferred over to RedKings-com.

A few months on and now Hollywood Poker is back, this time owned by social games company PLAOR, and launched as a free-to-play site accessible on Facebook. The aim of Hollywood Poker, once more, is to give people the opportunity to sit down and play online poker with celebrities, both A-list and otherwise, except this time with a great deal of the proceeds going to favourite charities. As PLAOR CEO Mark Caldwell explains: “Now we’re moving into social entertainment where we want to help connect users to celebrities by using poker and tournaments and other ways to drive revenue for charities.”

Hollywood Poker certainly appears to have lost none of its sheen with over 160 celebrities already signed up to the site, including original Hollywood Poker star James Woods, Dennis Quaid, Kelly Hu, Scott Baio and Peter Facinelli. Another celebrity adding his support to the site is actor and comedian Kevin Pollak, who also made a deep run at this year’s WSOP Main Event, eventually finishing 134th out of 6,598 players for $52,718. Lamenting a lack of acknowledgement by twitter for all the attention celebrities brings the company, Pollak explains:

“I’m trying to help them [Hollywood Poker] also make that huge connection in the real-time communication between fans and so-called celebrities, as well as having the potential of being the largest distribution route for charitable funds on Facebook.”

Having launched recently, traffic at Hollywood Poker is currently low at just 8,000 users, but expected to grow steadily over the coming weeks. Early joiners will also be entitled to a range of promotional offers, including discounts and special table display items.

Full Tilt Poker is set to fully relaunch on Nov. 6 but yesterday players were given a glimpse of things to come when the former online poker Goliath opened its doors slightly and allowed players to sit down at the play money tables, view their balances and even transfer their funds to PokerStars.

The news first broke on the popular Two Plus Two forums when the Full Tilt Poker poker room manager, Shyam Markus, posted in the Internet Poker forum that the game software was available for downloading. Markus also posted links to the upcoming Deal Me In promotion and the Edge rewards scheme that will come into force when the full relaunch takes place.

Cosmetically, the site looks almost exactly as it did on that fateful day when the curtain came down and players were locked out of their accounts, that is with the exception of the new images of The Professionals Viktor Blom, Tom Dwan and Gus Hansen on the various screens.

Also new is the “Transfer to PokerStars” button in the cashier, which was inactive at the time of the software going live again, but many players are reporting they have been successful in pairing their Full Tilt Poker account with their PokerStars account and transferring their balances across. For those non-US players who have had their balances tied up for 16 months, this transfer feature will feel like a godsend to them, especially those who had large balances or whose balance represented a large percentage of their bankroll.

In the Two Plus Two thread, Markus stated “the next few days are more of a beta test than anything” as the Full Tilt Poker team blow the cobwebs from the software and begin rolling out some new features. Some of these features include an “Add Table” option for heads-up cash game and SNG players that will open new heads-up table with both players on it to make multi-tabling against the same opponent easier; new ring game auto buy-in options and new preferred seat selection.

Since the mini-relaunch, players from regulated markets such as Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France and Spain (but not Italy), where Full Tilt Poker will not be operating in the first instance, have been reporting they can pair their Full Tilt Poker account with their PokerStars account and withdraw their funds. However, players from the United States of America have been greeted with balances of $0.00 when they log into their accounts, though their Full Tilt Points balances are intact. Players from the US will have to wait until the Department of Justice facilitates the repayment of their account balances.

In the build up to the full relaunch of Full Tilt Poker, PokerNews will be bringing you all the news, views and reactions to what is a massive day for online poker. Keep your browsers locked to UK & Ireland PokerNews to keep up to date with the latest goings on from the Full Tilt Poker camp.

PokerStars is going to be in the news quite a bit this week, and even perhaps the weeks to follow. With the reopening of Full Tilt Poker today the masses will hold the poker room’s every move under a scrutinous eye.

However, we want to start by giving the poker room some props on a recent customer service benchmark. PokerStars took an overall top ranking ahead of PartyPoker, which placed 2nd and PKR coming in third, as a study by the Etruvian Consulting partnered with PokerStrategy found through independent review of customer support from 20 top poker sites.

The study considered eight areas: accessibility, response times, product knowledge, presentation, professionalism, friendliness, escalation (how willing a support representative is to go and find out information in order to answer a query, including escalating it to a VIP manager or more experienced team member), and going the extra mile.

According to eGR, data was gathered to rate the quality of email and live chat support, the consulting firm used a mystery shopper approach, and manually applied scores according to a four-tier scoring framework. The report used over 6,000 separate data points, with over 300 per operator to find their overall ratings.

Now with that said, the fever pitch over Full Tilt Poker is going to be running rampant, back in the early part of October after Stars purchased the rights to Full Tilt Poker, the poker room was awarded a gaming license by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.

“The Gambling Supervision Commission is confident that Full Tilt Poker will safeguard the interests of its players and adhere to the strict policies and procedures governing Isle of Man licensed gaming companies.”

Since that time, the race to bring back one of the biggest poker room’s has been a race to the finish for the Rational Group, the owners of both Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. As many poker players already know PokerStars acquired Full Tilt Poker’s assets in July following settlement of its criminal case with the U.S. Department of Justice.

PokerStars agreed to pay the Justice Department a $731 million fine to settle charges stemming from the April 15, 2011 indictments, with the outstanding balance of $184 million that is owed to the remaining poker players from around the world with the exception of U.S players.

Poker players around the world enjoyed Full Tilt Poker’s innovative software and game design, so the much anticipated reopening giving millions of poker players in much of the world access to $184 million in their accounts I’m sure is going to be welcomed with open arms.

In celebration, Full Tilt is immediately offering a series of promotions, including $250,000 in freerolls and $300,000 in added FTOPS tickets. A ‘Happy Hour’ promotion allows players to earn double player points ‘around the clock’ and every player will be receiving a minimum $200 ‘Deal Me In’ bonus.

“Full Tilt Poker is back and better than ever,” said Sarne Lightman, Head of Marketing for Full Tilt Poker. “We are bringing back to the players everything they loved about the site and we invite them to help us celebrate by joining our ‘Deal Me In’ launch promotions.”

The new face and professional poker player Gus Hansen is quoted as saying in a statement regarding the relaunch,

“The return of Full Tilt Poker fills a hole in the community that’s been felt by millions of players, one of the world’s most popular and successful poker players. “A lot of people have been waiting for this day to come and now that it’s here we can all look towards a brighter future.”

I for one am looking forward to see what the future holds for Full Tilt Poker as it was one of the only poker rooms I ever really felt great playing online poker.

To PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker we say, Shuffle Up and Deal!

Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with us, free speech makes the world open for discussion and closed minds threatens the status quo.

It finally happened. For all of those poker players waiting in anticipation for the re-launch of Full Tilt Poker and their complete online services, that day finally came on Tuesday, November 6th. This infamous poker website was recently purchased by the Rational Group, operators of other big poker sites like PokerStars. They were able to acquire Full Tilt Poker after paying a hefty sum to the US Department of Justice, a total of $731 million, as well as agreeing to pay back the players around the world that were caught up in the 2011 debacle ($184 million from that portion is for the players, while the rest goes to the US government).

Their first operations came online on October 31st, with the launch of their play-money tables. Players from all around the world could go online and check out the tables, games, and new look of Full Tilt Poker before the real-money re-launch. Players could also check out the account balances, seeing that their money had been placed back into their accounts. With PokerStars being their sister website, players can transfer their funds over to their PokerStars account in order to continue playing or to simply withdraw the amount. Full Tilt Poker has set aside $184 million in order to give back the account balances to the international players.

With their re-launch on Nov. 6th, Full Tilt Poker has become one of the most popular poker sites since they were shut down in 2011. With their amazing marketing team, along with other strong partners like onlinepoker, they were able to launch the real-money poker tables an hour earlier, by 7:00 am. Once the tables launched, players started flooding in and after just one hour and a half, 22,200 players had accessed the Full Tilt Poker re-launch.
Beginning Issues in the Full Tilt Poker Re-launch

With any kind of launch or re-launch, there will always be a few issues that need to be dealt with as it happens. In the case of Full Tilt Poker, players that were trying to transfer their money to their PokerStars account or were trying to deposit money into the Full Tilt Poker accounts were getting the error message of “We can’t process your request right now, please try again soon”. These issues will be resolved quickly, and allow players to start managing their finances much easier.

Despite Full Tilt Poker having had a bad reputation due to their 2011 crisis, with the help of PokerStars, many of the players have stated they will retain their accounts with Full Tilt Poker, while only 10% said they would withdraw their money immediately; after all, they do have some great game selection and software, with a better team managing it all.
Bonuses, Promotions, and High Stakes

With their re-launch being a big success, it has to be pointed out that it was due to a great effort by their PR and marketing teams. They were able to get the highly acclaimed “The Professionals” to start playing at the re-launch; these players would include poker greats such as Viktor Blom and Tom Dwan. They have a reputation for hitting the high stakes tables and betting big, but as they are still in the early phases of the re-launch then Full Tilt Poker is not offering the $500/$1000 tables yet, but they do have $400/$800 tables.

On top of offering great tables, there is also what Sarne Lightman, Head of Marketing for Full Tilt Poker, said “We are bringing back to the players everything they loved about the site and we invite them to help us celebrate by joining our ‘Deal Me In’ launch promotions”. They are trying to give poker players the same great feeling that Full Tilt Poker did in the past, when they were ranked 2nd in player traffic.

With this idea, they did come out with some great bonuses and promotions. They have the Happy Hour promotion, where members could earn double player points and the Deal Me In bonus where players will be receiving a minimum of $200. This re-launch has many great surprises and is expected to get Full Tilt Poker back into 2nd place within 3 months.

FTOPS is Back

Full Tilt Poker has reopened its doors and has wasted little time in bringing back its popular Full Tilt Poker Online Poker Series (FTOPS). On Friday, FTP announced that FTOPS XXI will run from Dec. 2 through 16, featuring 35 tournaments and millions in guarantees.

The series gets under way Dec. 2 with a $216 buy-in event with a $750,000 guarantee and culminates Dec. 16 with the flagship $640 buy-in Main Event with a $1.5 million guarantee. Last year, more than $9 million was awarded in the $640 buy-in FTOPS IXX Main Event alone, with Blair Hinkle collecting the largest share ($1.1 million) after negotiating a deal at the final table. The most recent series, FTOPS XX, ran post-Black Friday and saw much smaller prize pools because of the absence of U.S. players. Full Tilt Poker's real-money games are still unavailable in the U.S., as well as in segregated markets like Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Estonia and Belgium

Other key events on the FTOPS XXI schedule include a $1,050 no-limit hold'em multi-entry event on Dec. 3, a $1,060 reentry six-max event on Dec. 10, and a $2,100 no-limit hold'em event with antes from the start on Dec. 15-16.

Full Tilt Poker has come back with a bang since being taken over by PokerStars. Within minutes of going live for real-money on Nov. 6, FTP regained its position as the No. 2 poker site in the world, averaging 8,600 cash game players according to PokerScout-com. To compare, PokerStars has averaged 23,200 cash game players during the past seven days, while the third-place iPoker Network has averaged just over 3,000.

There were no Team PokerStars Pros in attendance on Day 1a, but several notables played the first flight. Dan Carter (61,900) and Sam Grafton (56,800) advanced to Saturday's Day 2, while others like Sam Holden, Jon Spinks and Roberto Romanello were sent to the rail. Joining Prested near the top of the Day 1a counts were Michael Danko, Kevin Killeen, Andrew Laurie, and Paul McTaggart.

PokerStars is by far the largest online poker site in the world. To stay ahead of the times, the room plans to release PokerStars 7 in closed beta testing and then in open beta. It includes everything in the previous version along with a few new options and a new interface.

Although the new interface looks like the existing version of PokerStars, the design is completely new. When the software was first announced to the TwoPlusTwo community, there were a lot of people who were upset since they enjoyed the old look of PokerStars and said the new one looks too much like Full Tilt Poker.

I believe that PokerStars took the best of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and applied it into a new, sleek client and I am anxiously awaiting the release. Read what's in the new Full Tilt Poker Software.

By the way, for those of you that abhor change, there will be an option to revert back to the old lobby that you have become accustomed to.

PokerStars Representative Lee Jones presented the new software at the inaugural PokerStars VIP Club Live Event and suggested that the main goal was to make it as newbie-friendly as possible while minimizing the number of mouse clicks it takes to log in and play. My opinion is that anything that brings more new players to the table is good for the poker ecosystem.

On the top of the menu, there are four options: "Quick Start," "Main Lobby," "Home Games," and "News." I welcome this simplified view and will enjoy having my PokerStars-related news within my PokerStars client.

The "Quick Start" option will list your favorite games, making it very easy to join the games you most often play.

The tabs under "Main Lobby" are "Ring Games," "Zoom," "Sit & Go," "Tournaments," and "Live Events." Existing PokerStars players should enjoy the simplified view here by not having a ton of tabs for things they may not be interested in.

A new feature for cash games is grouping of tables by similar limits. When searching for cash games, instead of wading through endless tables at limits you are not interested in, the site groups tables by limits. You can see how many tables are running at those limits and there is a second window displaying what tables are available for you to join.

When you click on a table in the second window, you'll see a view of the table itself in a third window. Also, there is a "Seat Me" option if you want to skip through this process.

The "Live Events" tab also looks simplified, making it very easy to directly enter qualifiers for live events. The new software should simplify finding live tournaments in your area and easily trying to qualify for them.

There are many other simplified changes, including being able to see your cashier balance in the lobby and having one-click access to tools, settings, your profile, and the PokerStars school.

In the poker forums, people have made recommendations to PokerStars about what else can be improved in the new release. For example, PocketFives Moderator RedIceRap e-mailed PokerStars the following:

"Today I read about the new Stars software that will be beta tested soon. I want to make a new request. When searching for a certain player, most players usually want to watch a certain tournament. It would be easier to have a 'follow' checkbox next to the tournaments in the player search. So, when that checkbox is clicked next to a certain tournament and the player in the player search is moved to another table, the old table closes and the new table opens."

As a backer of players and one who likes watching his friends play, I hope PokerStars listens to this request.

I am looking forward to the beta version of PokerStars 7 being released soon. I love playing around with new software and am excited by the fresh look and feel of the client while still maintaining the feel of the existing PokerStars interface.

Tomorrow the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) will be meeting with the US Department of Justice to discuss the issues surrounding the reimbursement of US players’ account balances from Full Tilt. The PPA originally offered to assist the DOJ with the remission process in August.

Executive Director John Pappas and internet law expert Marc Zwillinger will be representing the PPA at the meeting. Zwillinger, a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, is a former member of the DOJ and has also provided services to the PPA.

The DOJ has yet to announce how it will calculate the amounts it will return to players. Players are also concerned about what adjustments will be made for uncollected deposits, bounced checks and other funds lost in the payment processing chain.

Some other topics expected to be discussed include the conversion of non-monetary items such as Full Tilt Points and Iron Man Medals, a timeline for when players can expect to be reimbursed and the overall lack of communication by the DOJ thus far.

PPA Board member and Litigation Support Director Patrick Fleming indicated that one of the ways the PPA intends to represent players’ interests is by making the DOJ aware of ways to make the remission process “simple and easy for players to complete.”

Players in the US can currently log in to Full Tilt Poker and request a full transaction history via the poker client. However, there is no indication that the balances noted in the transaction history will reflect the amount set to be returned by the DOJ.

As part of the deal struck when PokerStars agreed to purchase the assets of Full Tilt Poker, the DOJ will reimburse “victims” in the US from approximately $159m of forfeited funds.

The closing date for applications to be appointed as the claims administrator was August 31 but no official announcement has been released identifying the firm that will process the claims.

Amidst the celebrations of Full Tilt Poker’s successful return to the online poker arena this week, an entire population of former players is still awaiting news on the millions of dollars owed to it by the site. Players from the United States have watched as non-US members were happily able to access their funds this week, and how major efforts are being made to reach agreements with European governments regarding payouts in the few odd countries where transferring the money is proving slightly difficult.

The Poker Players Alliance has now decided to step up the fight to see US players receive their money as well, and has therefore demanded a meeting with the Department of Justice to discuss the issues.

Internet law expert, Marc Zillinger and the executive director of the PPA, John Pappas have set up a meeting this week with the DOJ to see how the issue can be advanced and whether the PPA can assist with the reimbursement process. In August this year, the PPA offered its help, but this was never followed up by the DOJ.

The PPA says that it will bring to the DOJ’s attention that a reimbursement process needn’t be drawn out and cumbersome. There are ways to make the process “simple and easy for players to complete,” according to Patrick Fleming of the PPA.

The three-way deal signed earlier this year between the Department of Justice, Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker makes provisions for US players to eventually see the nearly $160 million due to them, returned. At the time US players were asked to request a transaction history through Full Tilt Poker. Players are currently awaiting news on how the process will advance.

PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker room, has been around for several years, owing to which it has dealt innumerable hands. In fact, PokerStars celebrated its 10th birthday recently and is now in its 11th year, owing to which it is getting closer and closer to dealing its historic 90 billionth poker hand. The most wonderful thing about the 90th billionth hand is that it rewards all those players who are associated with it. PokerStars began rewarding players who form part of its historic hands, called the milestone hands, with special cash prizes. The online poker room will continue rewarding its players, right up to the 100 billionth hand.

This summer, PokerStars dealt its historic 85 billionth hand and now the online poker room is getting ready for its 90 billionth hand. PokerStars will give away a large prize pool of $1 million for players who form part of this historic hand, as a result of which several online poker players are eagerly waiting for it. The online poker room will reward as many as 300 online poker players for being online and taking part in this historic moment. Players who form part of the 89,700,000,000th hand to the 90,000,000,000th hand will get a cash prize, which means that every one millionth hand from the former point to the latter will reward players with cash prizes.

The online poker player who wins the 90,000,000,000th hand will get a prize of as much as $20,000. To better their chances of being around when this historic hand is being dealt and grab a prize, players need to play regularly at cash poker games at PokerStars during the next week. A counter will be displayed on the PokerStars website so that players can keep track of how many hands have been dealt so far. This will give them a better chance to making sure that they will be online when the online poker room deals its historic 90 billionth hand.

The online poker room has also revealed ways in which players can win a prize. First, players should play at as many hands as possible for as long as possible and see that they are associated with as many pots as possible. This will improve their chances of being around when the milestone hand is being dealt. In brief, all players need to do is stay around when the milestone hand is being dealt.

PokerStars is known as the top online poker room in the industry for many reasons. The site offers the best gaming options, promotions, live and online tournament options; the list could go on and on. PokerStars continues to prove time and time again that they are the most popular option for online poker play. The site is constantly breaking records and they are so good at breaking records that they break their own! The site recently hosted the third edition of their popular tournament series, the PokerStars MicroMillions and managed to out-do themselves again with the number of players competing.

The series took place over an eleven day period and 100 micro-stakes events took place. The last event ended this past weekend and over the series, a total of 1,308,994 players competed. This number is larger than the 1,288,221 entries that PokerStars boasted for the MicroMillions II which took place back in July.

The third edition of the series was able to offer a combined prize pool of $8,276,083 which blasted the $5 million guarantee of total prize money. however, the numbers were not the only record of the series. Two online players were able to win their second title of the series which is the first time this has happened. Alfons777999 and ADP1985 both now hold two title wins.

Even better, was the fact that Marcin Horecki, a Team PokerStars pro, was able to win his second MicroMillions leaderboard competition. Horecki was able to play in 100 events and cash out in 34 of the 100. He won the R PLO 6 Max event and he earned the most points to win the leaderboard challenge. Horecki earned the MM III trophy as well as a $16,000 package to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure!

The series was great success as always, so it will be no surprise if the fourth edition of the PokerStars MicroMillions gets underway in the next few months!
