Probably the number one mistake beginning poker players make is that they play far too many hands. When you're just starting out playing poker, you want to play poker, and that means staying in hands that aren't very good just to be part of the action. But playing more doesn't mean winning more, it usually means losing more. If you find you're staying in half or more the hands you're dealt

Legalising the US market could see major players such as Party Poker competing on a more even field following its settlement with US authorities and recently successful bid for WPT. Then there's the possibility of major US companies entering the sector if it is liberalised.

There is little doubt that PokerStars remains the biggest of the online poker sites, with over 25 million members worldwide. The enterprise holds a number of Internet records that includes being the first to simultaneously host 100 000 cash game players; and it claims to have dealt 31 billion hands and offered more than 180 million online tournaments. Its latest achievement, accepted by the Guinness Book of Records is a proven capability to simultaneously host 200 000 players.

There won’t be another $40k event next year in the World Series of Poker. While it is a good thing to know, it might be surprising to find this news comes as a surprise to anyone – the $40k event was always touted as a special event in honor of the World Series of Poker’s 40th anniversary.

World Series of Poker Communications Director Seth Palansky said that while the $40k event was a good event, there were was some concern than people would consider it a second main event and take away from the draw. Some other changes are in store as well, such as more $1k events.

Canadian players will be able to enjoy all of the best services found through Bodog. As gambling becomes more acceptable in the chilly nation of Canada, players will be hard pressed to find a casino. Now players from all provinces can enjoy the source of entertainment that is Bodog.
