Attached to the Xbox 360 game console, the device interprets gestures, such as when players swing their arms to hit a golf ball, lean to steer their way through an obstacle course or swivel their hips through a dance routine. It can also recognize faces and associate them with their profiles.
Sounds interesting to say the least. I'm also sure Nintendo will come out with something new for the Wii as well.

If it is cheaper than a wii, then the 360 user would benefit. If I have to purchase a 360 to get it then the wii may be cheaper. I love the wii, but I still have the Playstation 2 and about 200 games, so I will not get rid of it anytime soon. Looking to get a wii, maybe a used one on Ebay. X

Since the last few months online gambling legal experts have been predicting that New Jersey would be the first state in America to have regulated online gambling, and that too way before federal regulation. When the bill proposing that Atlantic City land based casinos should be allowed to offer online gambling services (S490) was passed by the State Senate Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee, this prediction gained strength. However, within a week a spanner has been thrown into the works and that too from a completely unexpected source. The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) has gone on record stating that they do not want the S490 passed. :confused:

New Jersey is one of the more liberal states in the US when it comes to their gambling laws. Voter enthusiasm for gambling is expected to be tested, however, in the November election when lawmakers hope to have a question on the ballot regarding online gambling.
This past week, Democratic leaders pushed for a summit to discuss gaming in the state. The summit would include representatives from both the state and the gaming industry, both of whom have differing proposals for how to move forward with sports and online gaming.

This partnership will begin in September and license holders in Antigua will gain access to the wider bandwidth and tech services offered by Mohawk Internet Technologies, the company that handles online gambling operations on the Kahnawake Indian Reservation.

AUSTRALIAN gamblers lost an average of $1500 each last year, a Productivity Commission report has found.
The long-awaited review of gambling in Australia found 600,000 Australians play the pokies at least weekly and 15 per cent are considered problem gamblers.
Gambling losses reached just over $19 billion in 2008/09 but the social cost of problem gambling is estimated to be at least $4.7 billion a year.
The report said there are an estimated 115,000 problem gamblers in Australia and another 280,000 who are at "moderate risk".

Japan's sumo association has announced it will go ahead with a tournament next month despite allegations of wrestlers and coaches betting tens of thousands of dollars on baseball in a widening scandal that has tarnished the image of the ancient sport.
The Japan Sumo Association decided in an emergency meeting Monday to hold the tournament, but kept the option of suspending more than a dozen wrestlers - or about one-third of the top division - along with another dozen coaches, according to media reports.
One arrest has already been made in the betting scandal and police are considering more criminal action pending the outcome of an investigation into the accusations, which first appeared in the weekly press and allegedly involve gangster middlemen.

The Los Angeles Times reported that cash-strapped state of California's welfare cards can be used in many casino ATMs and in liquor stores.
The Times revealed that more "than half of the state's casinos and gaming rooms, welfare recipients can get cash from state-issued EBT cards."
Now state capitol center Sacramento is reportedly considering action to end this.
The Times writes: "California welfare recipients are able to use state-issued debit cards to withdraw cash on gaming floors in more than half of the casinos in the state... The cards, provided by the Department of Social Services to help recipients feed and clothe their families, work in automated teller machines at 32 of 58 tribal casinos and 47 of 90 state-licensed poker rooms."
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vows to change this.
"We have instructed our vendors to prohibit these cards from being accepted at ATMs located in casinos and card rooms," Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said Wednesday. "It is reprehensible that anyone would use taxpayer money for anything other than its intended purpose."
McLear said the system of paying out welfare benefits via bank cards was created under Schwarzenegger's predecessor, Democrat Gray Davis. The welfare cards, Electronic Benefit Transfer cards, look like ordinary debit cards. They allow welfare recipients to access cash and food stamps.
The Times reports that Schwarzenegger had threatened to eliminate the state welfare program in his May budget proposal.
