The bidding war is quite confusing. The story actually starts with 888 being named the winner of a $1.4 billion battle for Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment. That was roughly one month ago, when it seemed clear that 888 was acquiring Bwin.Party for a mixture of cash and stock. Executives were quoted confirming that the deal was done, and Bwin.Party’s second largest shareholder Jason Ader expressed joy, stating, “I believe not only are 888 the best buyer for this company but that its management team will realize significant long-term synergy value for our shareholders with the least amount of execution and regulatory risk.”

Now there is a movement taking place that is trying to have online betting banned altogether in the USA. The Restoration of America’s Wire Act of 2015 is currently working its way through the US Congress in an attempt to prohibit online gambling throughout the States. The bill is sponsored by two Republican legislators, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz. These legislators have long been opponents of legalized online gambling. Other supporters of RAWA legislation are California Senator Diane Feinstein, Utah Senator Mike Lee and Florida Senator Marco Rubio. Forty three American states already have state operated lotteries and 35 states allow pari-mutual wagering which are found at horse racing venues. Senator Rubio and other opponents have said many times, “Gambling is a tax on the poor and does little to develop the economy” Senator Rubio is currently one of the leading GOP candidates for the 2016 Presidency.
Current laws in America regarding online betting are impossible to enforce so many punters in the USA participate in online gambling illegally without recourse. Proponents of online gambling legalization say that their freedom to pursue online gambling should be a personal choice not one that is made for them by the federal government. Senator Rubio is currently one of the leading GOP candidates for the 2016 Presidency, giving him plenty of ears for his platform. With the US election heating up so will the opinions of those against or for online gambling legalization.

The name for this experience varies—Escape the Room (ETR), Escape Games, Puzzle Hunts—yet they all involve a team of people getting locked into a room, usually themed around fantasy or horror, and the players must then solve puzzles and challenges in order to get out.
Escape games combine elements of the theater with gameplay and special effects, and they are becoming increasingly popular.
They are the latest example of the experience economy: the concept that consumers now prefer to spend money on creating memories and experiencing something new, rather than passively consuming.
"The appetite for experiences has grown beyond just going travelling," Sheena Patel, a producer for Time Run, an Escape Game which opened in London earlier this year, told CNBC in an interview. "People do take pleasure in sharing something new with their friends that perhaps they haven't experienced as yet and I think memories are being given a lot more value."

Research company H2 Gambling Capital, in its report titled, "There's nothing virtual about the opportunity in real-money gambling", valued the online global gambling market at €21.73bn in 2012. The value is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.13% to 2015, where the market is expected to generate €28.24bn of gross win.
At present, bitcoin gambling constitutes only a small proportion of the total online gambling revenues. However, bitcoin's key features like low cost, speedy payments, anonymity suggest that opportunity exists for bitcoin to become the future of gambling.
The digital currency's success in this market depends on a number of factors. One of the most significant is regulation. SatoshiDice, one of the earliest bitcoin betting sites, founded by Eric Voorhees, does not operate in the U.S. because of the stringent gambling laws in the region.
In order to suppress the new wave of internet gambling sites, the US Justice Department introduced the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in 2006, making it illegal for US players to process payments using US banks.
However, bitcoin has encouraged some entrepreneurs who are enabling US players to gamble using the digital currency, notably, Seals with Clubs, managed by Bryan Micon.
"It would be trivial to circumvent some ban. Seals is open to the world. There's no banking at all done on the site. It's a pure bitcoin poker site, so this is a totally brand new thing," said Micon told CoinDesk. "It's only been a few years for the legal world and there's nothing at all that says anything about this protocol."
Moving on, the innovative nature of the bitcoin community also works in its favour. Speaking to Coindesk, founder of SatoshiBet-com, Adrian Scholz, pointed out that the 'dice' gaming model on which sites like SatoshiDice were developed is a good example of this kind of innovation.
"This game did not exist in online casinos before bitcoin, yet it turns out to be more popular then games like roulette and blackjack", Scholz said.
However, bitcoin gambling still faces a number of challenges like legislation, marketing, security and low levels of awareness about bitcoin.

Only days after becoming legal, reality starlet Kylie Jenner was overwhelmed with offers from adult entertainment companies to make a sex tape with her 25-year-old rapper boyfriend Tyga.
TMZ cited a cool $10 million offer from Vivid Entertainment, the company that made Farrah Abraham and Courtney Stodden sex stars, as well as from another site, who came with a $1.8 million deal for Jenner. That site's offer stipulated the “performance” had to be for a duration of a least 22 minutes.
Digital Playground had a slightly less disgusting offer, pitching the young entrepreneur to become their spokesperson.
“We know you'll be great at this and with your banging body to match, maybe you'll be interested in becoming an adult star yourself!"
While her sister Kim Kardashian became famous for starring in a home-made sex tape, the likelihood of the already famous, already multi-millionaire Kylie keeping company with a porn company seems unlikely.

KUALA LUMPUR: Gambling syndicates running multimillion-ringgit illegal online operations have raised the stakes in wooing punters. Many of them have changed or tweaked their operations to stay ahead of law enforcement officers, but it’s still not that different from the way they have been operating in the past. The only difference now is the greater emphasis on using mobile devices — making it virtually impossible for the authorities to detect and shut down their operations. The New Straits Times Special Probes Team staked out several illegal online gambling dens in different parts of the country over a week. This was prompted by a clear directive from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi almost as soon as he assumed office on July 28. Zahid had ordered the police to wage an all-out war against the scourge. Last October, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the force would crack down on these syndicates. Khalid had issued a directive to all state police chiefs to mount an operation against the operators. He gave them a week to eradicate the problem once and for all, and a four-hour transfer order awaits them if they failed. From the intelligence gathered by the NST team, by right, many of the chiefs should have been transferred out because illegal online gambling operators are still running the bulk of their operations from physical premises, usually shoplots. Shoplots offer the highest returns since they operate round the clock, seven days a week. Previously, they would operate from the ground floor, but have now moved upstairs. Tontos would screen customers at the entrance.

The accelerated growth is projected due to two primary causes. The first being the migration of lottery purchases to mobile devices, and second an increase in liberalized online access for Europe and the U.S., driven by the anticipation of the legalization of online sports book service.
Juniper’s Whitepaper “Mobile Gambling – The Winner Takes It All” reports that companies providing licensed online services in U.S. states where it is specifically legal (Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada) have seen a dramatic increase in online-generated gambling revenues in the past two years. The research also confirms that in other U.S. states, unregulated offshore sites continue to enjoy high traffic.
The EU is taking a lead in loosening up policy through critical re-evaluation of their Anti-Money Laundering statues. However, prohibitive tax rates imposed upon licensed operators have become a concern, with some providers exiting their prospective markets. In such instances, customers merely switch to unlicensed operations thereby eliminating both regulation and tax revenue.
In June another market research report entitled “Global Mobile Gambling Market 2015-2019” was issued by Infiniti Research Limited, and predicted that the Mobile Gambling Market will see a 43% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of total annual wagers. An earlier study in May also focused on mobile gaming as well as increased regulation for the market.

Canadian entertainment consultancy firm 37 Entertainment has launched a legal suit against GVC that claims the company had a deal with GVC to launch a 50-50 partnership targeting the Canadian online gambling market. 37 Entertainment maintains it had begun to build websites for the French and English speaking consumers of online gambling products in the Canadian jurisdictions. The multi-million dollar legal suit with consultancy 37 Entertainment has been launched after GVC has been accused of reneging on the deal. GVC had already agreed to a deal with 37 Entertainment to operate jointly two sports betting websites in Canada. The agreement said that GVC would be responsible for the gambling services and products offered through the two sites, and 37 Entertainment would be responsible for the marketing of the services, and any revenue would be divided equally.
37 Entertainment also said GVC had not formally signed the agreement but GVC had presented a number of “written and verbal commitments”. The Times news in the United Kingdom reported that GVC and 37E had not signed the final contract. However 37 ENT commented that the essential terms had been agreed on and that an overwhelming number of “written and verbal commitments” were documented on the matter. 37ENT said that “excuses were coming fast and furious”, as GVC management moved its focus to the bwin.party Digital Entertainment acquisition and proposal.
GVC issued a counter statement saying, “This is a claim without merit. No formal agreement was reached with the company. GVC is continuously exploring new relationships… and not all opportunities reach maturity.”

"I make my living in the gambling industry, so I'm hardly opposed to gambling," said Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US. "I think daily fantasy sports betting should be legal, just like I think traditional sports betting should be legal. But let's not pretend one is OK and the other is not. Drawing some artificial line between the two makes no sense as a matter of law or policy."
The Question of Fantasy Sports
The question of fantasy sports is whether it should be considered a game of skill, or a form of gambling. If it is a form of gambling, then it should be regulated just as traditional sportsbetting and online gambling is regulated. This includes being overseen by a gaming board, with strict guidelines about enforcing anti-money laundering procedures, protecting player funds and paying special gaming taxes.
Lobbyists for fantasy sports claim that the game is clearly one of skill, not one of chance. They argue that the players who play fantasy sports have a major influence on the outcome of their game, unlike casino games, which are ruled solely by chance.
Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, AG Burnett, who is currently reviewing the legality of fantasy sports, said, "When you start offering daily fantasy contests, then you start to blur the line between skill and chance. When chance begins to govern the outcome more than skill, you have a form of gaming, and that's when the need for regulation kicks in."
As of now, fantasy sports and online gambling will remain separate industries, but the future of both is as yet undecided.

The 13 women and 35 men from Taiwan and China were arrested on Thursday at a villa in Jimbaran.
“We need to investigate further regarding how they operate. So far, I am quite sure that they don’t only operate in Indonesia, but also in other countries,” the office’s representative Tieldwight Sabaru said as quoted by kompas-com on Friday.
Tieldwight said that during the arrest some of the suspects had tried to escape, but the officers captured them all.
The officers also found that some of the suspects carried incorrect immigration documents, since several were on tourist visas but were not keeping within their requirements.
The officers seized 35 laptops, a printer, 85 WiFi routers, 27 mobile phones, three land phones, one CCTV system, 59 internet modems, four USBs and two memory sticks during the arrest. - See more at: Islands in focus: 48 foreigners arrested for online gambling | The Jakarta Post
Studies do vary in different jurisdictions and institutions. One study recently completed at the Michigan State University business school claims that more controlled and definitive regulation will benefit the online gambling industry and protect consumers from illegal activity. This study was designed to assess the costs and benefits of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. According to the report, the law legalized online gambling activities such as virtual poker and blackjack, with exceptions made for designated fantasy sports, online lotteries and horse racing. It was concluded that in the USA “the online gambling industry is at the point where it wants controlled regulation" and “both the industry and individuals - including underage and problem gamblers - would be better off if regulation exists."
In Australia a 2014 study conducted by the Southern Cross University revealed unexpected results regarding the use of online gambling opportunities both social and personal. Interviewing online 1,554 respondents from both genders researchers wanted to find out how the current legalisation would affect the activity of game play at social casinos. It was revealed that 69% of respondents said that they would be not interested in playing at real-money online casinos. While, 28.4% would be somewhat interested and only 2.6% would be very interested.
The Australian study also saw 57% think that social casinos would encourage real-money online gambling. The researchers found that 28% of people aged from 12 to 17 engaged in real-money gambling after playing with social casinos.

"Rosie's concern has been and always will be the health, safety and well-being of her daughter," O'Donnell's spokeswoman Cindi Berger told the AP news agency.
"Rosie is profoundly appreciative for the work the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has done and the diligence of the local police," she added.
US comedian and talk show host O'Donnell tweeted last Tuesday that Chelsea "has been found and is safe in police custody - thank u all for the help and light".
The 17-year-old was reported missing to police in Nyack, New York state, on 11 August after failing to return home.
O'Donnell, 53, had asked for the public's help in finding her adopted daughter, who was with a therapy dog.
"Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness," said Ms Berger at the time.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Judicial Watch says that in October it filed a Freedom of Information Act request over the 2011 decision and alleges that the DoJ has ignored the request with no explanation.
This, Judicial Watch claims, could hint at misconduct.
“When the Justice Department reverses its own interpretation of a federal statute so quickly and so completely, the American people have a right to know why,” the president of Judicial Watch told the Review-Journal. “And given that the Justice Department is willing to violate federal records law rather than disclose information, Americans can presume corruption behind its decision to unilaterally legalize widespread Internet gambling.”
Currently, Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson is still funding a campaign to ban online casino gambling nationwide, or at the very least stop its spread past the three states—Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware—where it currently exists.
Earlier in 2011, the DoJ indicted the operators of three major offshore online poker sites at the time in an event known as Black Friday. PokerStars later settled with the federal government for more than $700 million, but didn’t admit to wrongdoing.
Thanks to that settlement, the government received enough money to repay victims of the Full Tilt Poker fraud, a remission process which is still ongoing.
