The beef between the two started earlier this month when filmmaker Daniels told The Hollywood Reporter that ”Empire” star Terrence Howard, who has a record of violence against women, “Ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f–in’ demon.”
“That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are in American right now,” Daniels reportedly said on the eve of the Emmy Awards.
He was commenting on the negative press surrounding Howard, who’s been “arrested five times for violent acts against women,” according to Penn’s suit.
Penn called the statement “egregious on several levels,” in his defamation suit.
“First in his purported defense of Howard, Daniels not only appears to acknowledge Howard’s guilt, he also seems to condone Howard’s misconduct,” Penn says in the suit.
Penn claims the remarks were made to bolster Daniels’ show “Empire.” He admits, in the filing, that while he has had “several brushes with the law” the ”Milk” and “Mystic River” star was never arrested or convicted for domestic violence.
“His ex-wives (including Madonna) would confirm and attest,” the suit says. Penn was also married to actress Robin Wright and this year ended a relationship with actress Charlize Theron.

IT security specialist Gold Security has produced an infographic looking at how these attacks affect the industry. It points out that service outages during major sporting events can lead to people going to other sites to place bets. Some attacks may therefore be down to unscrupulous competitors seeking to steal business.
Anthony Khamsei CEO of Gold Security says, "E-commerce events are busy times. With online gambling sites in particular, it’s like experiencing Black Friday -- several times a year. A half-second delay renders a site unusable, unlike shopping where the tolerance for imperceptible delays may not make or break a sale". Online gaming sites also have predictable rush hours during the weekend or major sporting events, they become easy targets for these DDoS attacks.

Thanks to the efforts of Las Vegas Sands Chairman Sheldon Adelson, the legislation has once again found itself introduced by Republicans in both the House and the Senate, but even within the GOP, the measure remains controversial.
That’s because those in the party with libertarian leanings feel the bill tramples on states’ rights.
That very argument was made on Thursday by a coalition of a dozen organizations led by the Center for Freedom and Prosperity. In a letter sent by the group to Congress, they argued against RAWA, saying that legislators should oppose the bill on states’ rights grounds.

About RAWA
RAWA was first introduced to Congress in 2014. It was reintroduced earlier this year in the House of Representatives by Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), and in June was reintroduced in the Senate by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina).
The bill, which would stop states from individually regulating online poker or casino games, is largely the effort of Sheldon Adelson, who created the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling to battle against online gambling in the United States. Adelson’s strong ties to the Republican Party threatened to make RAWA an issue in the GOP presidential primary season, but this has yet to happen, and the bill has seen no significant movement in Congress.
Manuel Gomez Fernedez and his son, Juan Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde were kidnapped September 4th, after leaving Tampico, Tamaulipas— an area known to dangerous gang activity, according to The Latin Times. A report of their disappearance was filed in Mexico City with special prosecutor for organized crime investigations, SEIDO.
Omar Zuniga, spokesman for the Veracruz state prosecutor’s office, said Thursday that the investigation into the slayings continues.
In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, Veracruz state prosecutor Luis Angel Bravo Contreras said the father son duo both sustained traumatic brain injuries and were dead for several days before they were discovered in a rural area, El Chachalaco— in the municipality of Pueblo Viejo in Northern Veracruz on September 19th.
The Veracruz Attorney General’s Office issued a statement explaining that the police are doing forensic testing on a car that they suspect the kidnappers used. It had license plates from the neighboring state of Tamaulipas, which borders Texas.
The deceased are father and brother to film director and Landry’s husband, Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, who directed the film, “Little Boy.” Producer of the film, Eduardo Verastegui, expressed his condolences on Twitter writing: “With a heart full of pain and sadness, I ask for prayers for my friend and ‘compadre’ Alejandro Gomez Monteverde and all of his family. My deepest condolences to my soul brother, I love you so much ‘compadre,’ I put my heart in your hands and I join you in this deep pain.”
Landry, former Miss USA 1996 and mother of three, attended the Red CARPet Safety Awareness Event in Los Angeles on September 19th, celebrating Child Safety Month.

The online gambling industry is big business, estimated to be worth over $40 billion this year. But its success makes it a target for extortion and for DDoS attacks. DDoS can prove particularly harmful for this type of site as around 60 percent of transactions are carried out in real time and are therefore sensitive to latency.

The largest nation in South America's cash-strapped government is currently in negotiations with lawmakers to increase revenues through legalizing gambling, after Congress rejected other tax hikes proposed by President Dilma Rousseff's efforts to overcome the bulging national budget deficit.
Rousseff chief of staff Aloizio Mercadante offered the idea to lawmakers last week as an alternative to the government's struggle to pass a hotly contested tax on financial transactions.
Casinos have been banned in since 1946, while bingo rooms were outlawed in 2007 to stem money laundering. Federal lotteries and bets on horse racing are the only current forms of wagering permitted in Brazil.
A government gambling legislation proponent in Brazil estimate that the county is losing up to 23.5 billion reais ($5.9 billion) in annual gambling taxes, with more to be otherwise lost from the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic games.
Localizing Gambling Revenues
In a country where many Brazilians already play online casinos such as Dhoze Casino, Casino Cruise and Winner Casino, small center-right Party of the Republic leader Mauricio Quintella has been tabbed as leading the movement to regulate online gambling within national borders. He bemoans the loss of Brazilian gambling profits in the fact that Brazilians regularly travel to Paraguay, Montevideo, Las Vegas to gamble, leaving “all the money there.”
Correcting Public Opinion
The main hurdle for the government may not be opposition within the government, but public opinion: Brazil is a country where many people associate gambling with corruption, for historical reasons as well as contemporary social ones.
The fact is there is a current scandal still running in Brazil over $2 billion plus in kickbacks focused on state-run oil firm Petrobras. Other scandals linking gambling to corruption include an aide to former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva being sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2012 for extorting bribes from an illegal lottery operator in 2004. These scandals have nothing to do with online gaming operators; they are just the root of current general public perceptions.

To celebrate the signing, Puff Daddy will perform new music at the BET Hip-Hop Awards scheduled for Oct. 13 in Atlanta.
Bad Boy comes to the Sony label following similar deals with Warner Music Group, Interscope Records and Arista Records, but Epic Records chairman and CEO L.A. Reid, who founded R&B powerhosue LaFace Records and formerly headed Arista, sees it as a full-circle moment.
Said Reid in a statement: “Sean 'Diddy' Combs aka Puff Daddy and I have been musical collaborators since the 1990s, when we both ran independent record labels. ... Over the years, we not only enjoyed incredible success together, but we also became lifelong friends. Today, of course, Puffy is truly in a league all his own, continuing to influence culture and ignite musical revolutions time and time again. He’s a true innovator and I could not be more excited to join forces once again.”
"I have known L.A. Reid since the very beginning and together we have enjoyed countless successes over our long friendship,” added Combs. "To now work with L.A. in this capacity feels more like a homecoming than a new beginning. Not only is he a fearless and smart businessman, he believes in artists and understands music better than anyone. He embodies hard work and true success, evident in all of his endeavors. To collaborate with L.A. Reid is to collaborate with the very best.”
Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre, who has been with the company since its inception in 1993, will also be along for the Epic Records ride.

Tasmania is an island off the southern coast of Australia. This place is an island state, part of the Commonwealth of Australia, located 240 kilometres to the south of the Australian continent, separated by Bass Strait. The state includes the island of Tasmania, the 26th largest island in the world, and the surrounding 334 islands.
A recent report by the Examiner in Tasmania revealed that video gaming can lead to a gambling addiction. A Tasmanian youth mental health advocate says that the two are related issues.
Cate Sinclair, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Cornerstone Youth Services said ‘the increased variety and availability of gaming devices had seen a marked rise in young Tasmanians presenting with a video game addiction.’ Sinclair said she raised her concerns with Federal Health minister Tania Plibersek during the opening of Headspace North-West in Devonport recently.
Sinclair, commented, “Games reward players for certain achievements and for reaching a certain goal, with kids often given free points or credits to upgrade stuff if they log a certain number of hours,” continuing to add, “Also, games can be played online, on your phone and on consoles that are connected to people around the world,” and, “There's a lot of competitiveness involved, and it's that needing to win that gets out of control.
The Examiner reported a while ago that at least 10 per cent of Tasmania's problem gamblers were youths under the age of 24. This is an alarming number backed up by a study completed by the University of Adelaide, which concluded one in four teenagers had played a gambling-style video game, and almost 40 per cent reported a future intention to gamble with money.
The findings aren’t too surprising considering the available broadband in Tasmania and the young demographic that has grasped onto the technology. Online gambling is under the authority of the Tasmanian Gaming Commission.

Romania’s gambling regulator Oficiul National pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN) recently updated its list of unauthorized gambling operators that have failed to comply with its licensing demands. The list, which has grown from its original 48 names to over 120, features several Bwin.party domains, including Bwin-com, PartyPoker-com and PartyCasino-com.
Bwin.party’s inclusion is puzzling, given that the company announced in August that it had acceded to the country’s demands to ante up back taxes worth 20% of all online revenue generated from Romanian punters since 2009. Bwin.party’s name has also yet to appear on the ONJN’s list of officially approved online operators, which includes the likes of 888, Bet365, Betfair, Fprtuna, PokerStars, Stanleybet, Unibet and others.
iGaming Business reported that the ONJN decided to spank Bwin.party because the company had chosen to continue operating in the country while its license application was pending, rather than temporarily freeze its dealings with Romanian punters until the company received the official nod to proceed. Bwin.party must now convince the ONJN that its decision to issue a provisional license to the company wasn’t a mistake.
In other local news, Czech betting operator Fortuna Entertainment Group has announced it had signed a brand licensing agreement with Romanian sports betting and gaming companies Bet Active Concept and Bet Zone. The two companies – both part of the Penta Investments Group, which holds a majority stake in Fortuna – will have the right to utilize the Fortuna trademark for the purposes of sports betting and gaming in Romania.
Finally, Romanian-licensed online operator NetBet has struck a marketing partnership with Romanian footballers FC Steaua Bucuresti. NetBet CMO Alexandre Mangaud said the deal, which covers the current Liga 1 season, will see NetBet offer Steaua fans exclusive bonuses, promotions and invitations to major events. Steaua joins NetBet’s other football partnerships, which include English Premier Leaguers West Bromwich Albion, French sides Gezelec Ajaccio and Saint-Etienne, plus Germany’s VFL Gummersbach.

For example, the appealing Romanian market has recently become the target of large online gambling operators. In just 3 months, 13 operators have received their provisional licenses. This number seems to keep growing and by the looks of it, the Romanian online gambling market has already surpassed the Bulgarian market and will keep growing.

The study, conducted by Southern Cross University’s Centre for Gambling Education and Research, examined promotions by online betting operators in two specific periods this May. The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation funded the study, but the researchers made no effort to establish a link between gambling inducements and problem gambling behavior.
Australia recently announced it would conduct a review of the country’s online betting sector, with a particular focus on figuring out how to wean Aussie gamblers off the estimated 2k international online gambling sites currently serving the market.
Yet the Southern Cross study found that Australian-licensed bookies made an average of 11.6 inducements during the periods in question, while international sites averaged just 4.1 offers. And while Aussie bookies made up 60% of the 30 brands studied, they were responsible for 78% of the inducement offers made during the study period.
In fact, only one international bookie (Stan James) made the top 10 chart of inducements by brand. Ladbrokes was the top inducer, accounting for over 10% of the total offers in the period. There wasn’t much distance separating the top five pitchmen, and Lads was followed closely by CrownBet, Sportsbet, Bet365 and William Hill.
Refund of a bettor’s stake as bonus bets was the most common inducement, accounting for 21% of all offers. This was followed by better odds (15%), matching a stake/deposit with bonus bets (14%), refund provided as cash (12%) and all other free/bonus bets (10%).
The most popular form of inducement by Aussie-licensed bookies was refund offers, while international sites were more likely to offer a sign-up bonus. Deposit matching incentives made up 27% of international brand inducements, compared to just 11% for Aussie-licensed brands. Similarly, other free bet offers made up 20% of international sites’ inducements compared to 7% for domestic brands.
The regulation of gambling is primarily a state-level concern in Australia, and some states have enacted partial or blanket bans on betting operators offering inducements to attract punters. New South Wales recently levied fines against several operators, while Victoria has meted out punishment to the likes of Betfair and Sportsbet in recent years.

A total of 31 computer laptops, 13 computers, six Wi-Fi modems, 13 tablets, four accounts ledgers and cash totaling RM2,705 were seized from eight separate premises in the Johor Baru Selatan district.
The male suspects, aged between 16 and 61, were nabbed under the district police’s integrated district anti-vice and gaming operation called ”Ops Dadu” between Oct 1 and Oct 18.
Johor Baru Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh said police acted based on surveillance and information.
“We (police) believe that the illegal online gambling activities are widespread now as most people have mobile phones or devices. “All it takes is to open an account and they can start immediately,” he said at the Johor Baru Selatan district police headquarters today.
It is learnt that most of the online games offered by the syndicates involved real-time casino games such as roulette, black jack, slot machines and poker.
Investigations revealed that all it took was for an individual to open an account with the syndicate’s runners and they could commence playing via payment transfer that would translate to credits, which were similar to gaming chips.
The syndicates, that move in cell groups, were known to operate from shophouses and also hotel rooms.
With the recent arrests, Sulaiman said police would continue to be on the lookout for such syndicates or groups offering such services.
“The suspects are in police custody and we have initiated investigations under Section 4B(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 (Amendment 2001).”
Throughout 2015, the district police had conducted 54 raids on illegal online gaming outlets with the arrest of 255 individuals.
A total of 93 computer laptops, 83 computers and RM38,893 have been seized.
Meanwhile, the district police have also conducted operations against motorcycle theft gangs in the district.
Sulaiman said this was following a 14.09% spike in vehicle theft cases reported this year compared with last year.
He said there was a hike in 147 cases from 1,043 cases.
Sulaiman said police initiated Ops Lejang in several hot spots in Johor Baru to counter the rising cases of motorcycle thefts in the district.
“We detained and arrested 17 male youths, aged between 16 and 36, to facilitate investigations.
“Following that, police also seized 15 motorcycles, four motor chassis, four cars and motorcycle theft tools during the raids.”
According to the Associated Press, Sen. Kim Ward’s bill (SB900) will be considered as a way to help fix a budget deficit that could be as bad as $2 billion. Ward introduced her measure earlier this year and had a hearing in June. A committee vote would happen before a full House vote.
It was said during the hearing that it would take 9-12 months before online gaming launches, after the state approved the activity. The Keystone State has 12 brick-and-mortar casinos that would be allowed to offer online gambling, whether in-house or through a technology partner.
Regulated online poker could be worth up to $129 million annually once it reaches maturation, and potentially more if Pennsylvania partners with Nevada, New Jersey or Delaware.
It was also determined that house-banked online casino games could reach $178 million annually under the same conditions. Those revenues would add roughly 10 percent to the state’s casino gambling market, worth around $3 billion annually. Gaming revenues have declined over the past two years, though. Pennsylvania is close to final approval of a new casino in Philadelphia.
Thanks to the rapid success of the daily fantasy sports industry and Nevada saying last week that the DFS companies need a license to allow access their websites within Silver State borders, Pennsylvania will also be considering a similar move, the report said.
Pennsylvania is now past the 110-day mark for its budget impasse. The House Gaming Oversight Committee will discuss Monday, Oct. 26, on allowing slots on airports.
Pennsylvania House Gaming Committee To Vote On Online Gaming
Pennsylvania’s House Gaming Oversight Committee is expected to vote Wednesday on whether or not to allow the state’s casinos to offer casino games on the Internet to people physically located within the state.

The online gambling market is expected to exceed USD 40 billion in 2015. One of the biggest challenges faced by online gambling companies is facilitating funds transfer from users to the online operators. Credit card companies have been historically reluctant to integrate their systems with online gambling operators because of the chargeback potential. Bank transfers to online gambling sites are complicated by the fact that most operators are licensed in small countries outside the primary jurisdictions where most players reside. The result is that it can take several days for new users to open accounts. Countless potential new users are lost, having been put off by the hurdles of setting up new accounts and transferring funds.
Bitcoin offers a simple solution to these problems. Bitcoin transfers are both virtually instantaneous and verified multiple times through the Bitcoin blockchain and the myriad of Bitcoin miners connected to the network. Bitcoin transfers therefore solve both the speed and authentication issues faced by online gambling companies.
Many internet gambling operators also face the challenge of operating in a jurisdiction with a sophisticated enough telecommunications network to manage high bandwidth secure transactions. Many of the countries that offer internet gambling licenses are small and have less robust telecom networks.
MJMI has entered into discussions with a firm that offers internet gambling licenses in the country of Antigua. This firm simultaneously offers connected data services located on a native reserve in Canada. This combination allows its clients to both be licensed to offer real money wagering and operate their data centers on a first world telecommunications network. Canada is home to one of the world's largest publicly traded online gambling operators, Amaya Inc. (NASDAQ: AYA), parent company of mega-sites Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.
Owing to its ultra-low transfer cost, Bitcoin also offers the advantage of easily facilitating small dollar value transfers. This means that a site allowing much smaller wagers can still be profitable. Online gambling operators of poker rooms, for example, take a small percentage of the total value wagered by players in each hand, known as a rake. With traditional currency, known as FIAT, the transfer costs necessitate higher dollar amounts be sent by players so that the funds they transfer exceed the transfer fees. With Bitcoin, the potential exists for operators to offer users the option to transfer and wager much smaller amounts, therefore dramatically increasing the potential customer base.
Peter Janosi, MJMI's president said: "We are very excited to be in discussions with a potential partner in the online gambling space. Since we will not be targeting US customers, having a partner that can both facilitate a license in a credible jurisdiction like Antigua and offer data services in a first world country makes sense. They share our excitement about the potential Bitcoin brings to this multi-billion dollar industry. We look forward to further updating our shareholders as we make progress in this exciting space."
About MJMI
MJMI is in the business of providing safe and accessible services for the users of Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies.
Crypto-currencies are a medium of exchange using cryptography to secure transactions and control the creation of new units. Bitcoin became the first decentralized crypto-currency in 2009. Crypto-currency is produced at a rate which is defined when the system is created and publicly known. By contrast, in centralized banking and economic systems, such as the Federal Reserve System, corporate boards or governments control the supply of currency by printing units or demanding additions to digital banking ledgers. However, neither companies nor governments can produce units of crypto-currency and as such the value of crypto-currencies are completely based on supply and demand, free from any governmental control. Many people believe crypto-currencies, and in particular bitcoin, hold the promise of being the most significant advancement in global finance in modern history. The advent of bitcoin creates a secure, easily accessible and transferable transnational currency that is completely liberated from political influence.
MJMI is currently exploring partnerships in several verticals within the crypto-currency space, including the multi-billion dollar remittance market. Management believes that several industries, including both international remittances and online gambling are on the verge of being revolutionized by the use of Bitcoin to effect transactions.
MarilynJean Media Interactive is among the first publicly traded companies focussed on bitcoin and the crypto-currency space. The company's trading symbol is OCTQB:MJMI.
