The 11th season of American Idol has finally come to a close and Phillip Phillips has won. The season wrapped up with the duo that have been near the top of the odds since the competition began: Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.

Join Bovada Sportsbook right now and bet entertainment props right now!

The theme of Monday’s finale was Simon Fuller’s (creator of American Idol) choice/favorite performance/winner’s single and Phillips had to work with Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”, Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song) by Billy Joel and “Home”, Phillips’ first single. On the other side, Sanchez had Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”, “The Prayer” by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, and finally, her own “Change Nothing”. Both competitors put their best foot forward, but in the end Phillips proved to be just too strong.

But that isn’t to say that Sanchez didn’t show her best stuff as she will definitely earn some attention from record labels with her powerful voice. The 16-year-old was born to perform and we’ll be seeing and hearing from her sooner than later.

Overall, Phillips, a 22-year-old from Georgia, deserved to win. Now he’s clear to get the surgery doctors have been recommending for his kidneys. He has been bothered by his kidneys for most of the season and nearly had to pull out because of the pain. Medical experts recommended that he skip the finale to get immediate surgery but Phillips pushed through the pain and was rewarded in the biggest night of his life.

He’ll now go on to receive a $1 million record contract and take the next step of his career, looking to carry on the tradition of American Idol success.

Six leaders from South Korea's biggest Buddhist order have quit after secret video footage showed some supposedly serene monks raising hell, playing high-stakes poker , drinking and smoking.

The scandal erupted just days before Koreans observe a national holiday to celebrate the birth of Buddha, the holiest day of the religion's calendar . The head of the Jogye order , which has some 10 million followers, or about a fifth of the population, made a public apology on Friday, vowing "self-repentance" .

South Korean TV networks aired shots of monks playing poker, some smoking and drinking, after gathering at a luxury lakeside hotel in late April for a fellow monk's memorial service.

"The stakes for 13 hours of gambling were more than $875,300," Seongho, a senior monk said. He said he had reported the incident to prosecutors . Gambling outside of licensed casinos and horse racing tracks is illegal in South Korea and frowned upon by religious leaders.

"Basically, Buddhist rules say don't steal. Look at what they did, they abused money from Buddhists for gambling ," Seongho said.

The behaviour of the supposedly abstemious monks has led to Korean media speculation of a power split within the order. The wayward monks appear to have upset many in Korea. "Monks who gamble, drink and smoke are tainted in the eyes of all people in the nation," civic group Buddhist Solidarity for Reform s aid.

I wonder what were they thinking? But if they repent ...

Bwin.party has agreed to pay $42 million in Spanish back-taxes, 888, which has about 6 percent of its operations in Spain, expects to announce soon that it will pay a tax settlement of less than $10 million, all are in part to acquire an online gambling license.

New Jersey will defy a federal ban and let people bet on the outcomes of football, basketball and other games this fall, Gov. Chris Christie said Thursday.

Speaking at a news conference highlighting efforts to reinvigorate Atlantic City, Christie said the regulations his administration will issue next week make no attempt to overturn a 1992 federal law that limits sports betting to four states.

The 14th season of Dancing With The Stars is in the books and even though athletes usually fare well in this competition, it may have been a little bit of a surprise that this year’s winner came away with the victory.

Join Bovada Sportsbook right now and bet entertainment props!

Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver, along with partner Peta Murgatroyd, came together to edge out Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, as well as Latin television star William Levy and Cheryl Burke. Jenkins and Ballas rolled through the first half of the competition, but stumbled in the latter part and it was Driver that came into the finale as a 3/2 favorite, although Jenkins wasn’t far behind at 7/4 and Levy was 19/10. It had to feel good for Murgatroyd, who made her debut as a professional with basketball player Metta World Peace last season and was booted off in the first week, but now she is a champion of the competition.

As is Driver, who is the seventh athlete to win Dancing With The Stars in 14 seasons and the third player from the NFL as Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith won in Season 3, and then the newly-retired Hines Ward won in Season 12. Athletes seem to have what it takes in regards to this show as they have the rhythm, but more importantly, it is ingrained in them to train until you get it right and that was a key for Driver and Murgatroyd, who weren’t always on the same page at the beginning of the competition, but they slowly improved and eventually, they pulled it together when they needed to, which has been a staple of Driver’s football career.

Next season, get ready for an all-star cast of celebrities and fan favorites on the 15th season of Dancing With The Stars!

When it comes to online casino games there is no arguing that Colorado is one of the US States that is a part of the big pack leading the fight for legalizing online poker in the country. It was not very long ago that the government of United States passed a bill stating that all forms of online gambling with offshore sites was illegal.

Australia is once again in the news with regards to the government’s stance on online gambling.

Julia Gillard’s not so tenuous minority has not been very talkative of late, so when the news came that her government was looking into making online casinos and sports betting more accessible it was no wonder there was big ripple in the pond. The water under the bridge thus far in Australia has been flowing just fine until the Daily Telegraph reported it had seen documents that say Australia’s government has informed the domestic gambling industry that it will introduce measures enabling online in-play sports betting within six to 12 months. Quoting a regulatory review report from Victoria prohibiting online gambling served “no useful purpose.”

A hard-fought legislative compromise to give extra money to certain cities with horse racetracks sent Ohio's new gambling regulations through the Legislature and to the governor's desk on Thursday.

The wide-ranging bill lays out rules for casinos, bingo halls and slots-like video lottery terminals that are coming to the state's seven horse tracks.

The legislation's passage comes on the heels of Ohio's first casino opening in downtown Cleveland last week, and as Toledo prepares for its casino to open on Tuesday.

The Ohio House approved the gambling overhaul on a 71-23 vote on Thursday. The state Senate then voted 26-3. Gov. John Kasich is expected to sign the legislation.

American Idol has wrapped up for the 11th season as Phil Phillips managed to edge out Jessica Sanchez for the victory. But now the real drama is set to begin as it appears the show will be looking for at least one new judge for next season.

Join Bovada Sportsbook right now and bet entertainment props!

Jennifer Lopez has enjoyed a resurgence in her career that she could owe partly to her exposure on Idol, although she did have a hit album last year. She’s likely to be touring soon and her film career is getting back to where it was as well. That has sparked speculation that she will not be a judge on the next season of the show with Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, and both sides, Lopez and the producers of American Idol, have hinted as much. Some feel as though it could be a simple negotiation ploy as she made $12 million for her second season of the show, and now Britney Spears will be making $15 million at The Voice, which was created by ex-Idol judge Simon Cowell.

That means you will be hearing a lot about possible replacements for Lopez, such as Mary J. Blige, who sportsbooks have as the 7/2 favorite after making a couple appearances on this season as a mentor, while Gwen Stefani is also a possibility at 9/2. Stefani was approached by Cowell to join The Voice, but she stated that her loyalties were to Interscope honcho Jimmy Iovine, who was a mentor on American Idol this year and he is there at 6/1. Names like Mariah Carey (5/1), Katy Perry (5/1), Avril Lavigne (7/1), Miley Cyrus (7/1), Selena Gomez (10/1) and Nicki Minaj (15/1) will be thrown around, and even a return from Paula Abdul (15/2). This is a story that is just getting started, so stay tuned for American Idol news!

Who will replace Jennifer Lopez on American Idol in season 12 if she is no longer a judge?

Mary J. Blige 7/2

Gwen Stefani 9/2

Mariah Carey 5/1

Katy Perry 5/1

Jimmy Iovine 6/1

Avril Lavigne 7/1

Miley Cyrus 7/1

Paula Abdul 15/2

Selena Gomez 10/1

Nicki Minaj 15/1

When you enter a room and see people sitting in front of computer screens with spinning rows of jewels, cherries, bells or 10-gallon hats, eagerly hoping the images line up, you might be forgiven for thinking you are watching video-slot-machine gambling.

You would not be alone.

"What I want to know is," asks Portsmouth City Attorney Robert Sullivan, "why is this not gambling?"

The operators of what are called Internet sweepstakes cafes say they have an answer that would hold up in court and keep their businesses running. State lawmakers would like to pass a law that shuts them down.

SEO Tip #12 Long tail keywords.

Trying to rank high for very competitive keywords eg. “online casino” can be a losing battle. Try building back links for long tail keywords containing the competitive keyword eg. “top online casino games uk” as part of a bigger phrase. It might have less competition so ranking higher for it will be easier.

SEO Tip #11: Traffic is as important as back links.

Remember that 1000 back links to your site, but no traffic to your site will count negatively in Google SERP. Quality, optimized content will ensure traffic from “real” users and coupled with enough back links will ensure good rankings and authority.

SEO Tip #10: Beware of repetitive keywords usage.

Google has recently made it clear that it will downgrade sites and pages that are “too” highly optimized for search engines. Amongst the biggest culprits are links with the same keywords used in an unnatural frequency. This includes back links on other sites to your site. Tip: use long-tail keywords to spice things up.

SEO Tip #9: Don’t over SEO.

Google and the other search engines are getting smarter by the day. Google will penalize sites that it perceives as over optimized. The answer is balance. Put a few keyword on some pages and none on others - mix it up. Google is looking for good, natural, normal looking content.

SEO Tip #8: Interlink your pages.

A very important step which a lot of people forget is to interlink all the pages on their site. All search engines love to see pages on a site linking (logically of course) to other pages in the site. It helps them determine context, meaning and overall content value. Also remember to add logical title attributes to these links.

SEO Tip #7: Broken links.

You need to regularly scan your site for broken links or missing pages. Missing pages should be fixed or 301 redirected to a suitable alternative. Broken links can affect your page’s Google rank significantly so clean house regularly.

SEO Tip #6: Page meta description length.

Keep every page’s meta description unique and within 100 to 160 characters. Any shorter and Google will complain. You can use Google Webmaster Tools to check for issues on your site, specifically meta description issues.

SEO Tip #5: Website loading speed.

The speed it takes a user’s browser to load and display your site is critically important to search engines. A typical search engine spider doesn’t waste too much time waiting for a page to download before it tries to index it. It makes sense to make your page light - less or highly compressed graphics - and only enough information to deliver your message. In this case, less is more. If a page loads too long it might not get indexed for months. Use standard HTML tags like H1’s, , etc and CSS instead of heaving loading graphic images.

SEO Tip #4: New content and comments raises your value.

Google loves fresh, topical content on your site. Keep adding new posts or articles on a regular basis. There’s no hard and fast rule for this as long as new content is added, Google will visit your site more regularly. Try and get as many feedback or comment posts on your pages and articles as possible. A fresh, topical site that has lots of “action” on it is more valuable than a static site with no obvious readership. Topical comments can be used to generate valuable “backlinks” to your other web properties and can be used to create “linkwheels” (We will cover this next).

SEO Tip #3: Original content is king!

ALWAYS user fresh new content on your web site. Google frowns on duplicated and copied content. You WILL lose rankings if you copy text from another page. If you struggle with new content, you can buy new content online. There are numerous services where you can pay someone to write an article for you. Another option would be to manually spin existing content.

SEO Tip #2: The importance of back links.

To ensure better Page rank, you need to create back links - links to your site - on other, high quality sites. You can do so by commenting of other blog posts and leaving your site’s address in the comment section of that blog. Try commenting on high ranking sites for more link juice !

SEO Tip #1: Remember your link attributes!

When you create links on your site, remember to create each link complete with all the attributes a search engine will look at: HREF, Title(A short description of the link’s purpose), anchor text (the keywords you are targeting on search engines, exact keyword or long-tail keywords).

Exact keyword - the exact keyword you are targeting on search engines eg. Online casino
Long-tail keyword - less exact keywords which can still capture traffic eg. Casino games online

Thats great information :thumbsup

Patrick Kennedy is used to losing almost every bet he makes, so he was a happy man when he found he'd backed the winners of both rugby's Heineken Cup and soccer's Champions League final. "It was pure fluke," says the chief executive of Paddy Power, Europe's largest casino and gambling firm by market capitalization.

While he might be short on luck as a punter, the Dubliner is long on expertise in strategizing the growth of one of the world's biggest bookmakers.

In 2011, Paddy Power posted a record operating profit of €120 million ($150.2 million), representing a 16% rise in pretax profit from a year earlier, despite tough economic conditions and the lack of a major international sporting event. Earnings per share grew by 26% and the company's shareholders saw a dividend increase of 33% from 2010.

It is not much of a secret that Washington is dysfunctional. The latest symptom is Maine Senator Olympia Snowe leaving the Senate. The moderate senator wrote a scathing piece in the Washington Post this past March. For the online gambling industry, this means that nothing has moved forward on gambling legislation. Most pundits agree that nothing will happen on this front until at least after the next elections (presidential and congressional). So are the Americans waiting until November?

According to sources, the internet gambling company, Betfair is going to release its newest website. This website is planned to be its most recent betting website with fixed odds. This new website will result in a head to head competition with the standard bookmakers. This website is planned to be launched and ready to get into the action by the time of the 2012 football event, the Euro Championship 2012. This website is going to increase and expand the online reach of the company. Such expansion in the realm of online sport gambling is considered a disadvantage by the company.

Betfair has over four million gamblers in its records; with such numbers, that surely makes Betfair a competitor with noticeable weight that would make other companies and betting sites fear and account for. This new website is going to make Betfair able to take almost 30% of the punters betting that are going somewhere else outside of the company.

This new online website is developed and created by Openbet. Openbet is one of the biggest and experienced developers. It has worked with famous and known operators such as Skybet, Paddy Power and William Hill. Commenting on this, the operations director of Befair, Nick Hagen said that the company is aware that 30% of their client data base wager on sports. Through this website the company will offer sport wagering services to these players instead of watching them place their bets on other websites.
