Who thinks that Nascar Driver Matt Kenseth has a chance at winning this season’s Nextel Cup?

I don’t think the performance is good enough to win a championship right now. He just need to get running a little faster 😁

In August 2007, at the age of 31, he won his thirteenth professional major golf championship and has more wins on the PGA Tour than any other active golfer. He is the only active golfer in the top 10 in career major wins and career PGA Tour wins.

(Tiger Woods was the highest paid professional athlete in 2006, having earned an estimated $100 million from winnings and endorsements). Not Bad 😄

Here's a link to a picture of what the General Lee would have looked like as a Honda: generalleehondacivic-blogspot-com/

Some people seem to have just too much time on their hands.

The Malta Times has carried a report claiming that the arrival of no less than 27 international gambling companies has put Malta at the crest of an online gambling wave sweeping over the Internet.

Amongst the names familiar with many UK online bingo players about to make their home in Malta is Intercasino, William Hill, Littlewoods, Playboy Casino and Virgin Games.

The report confirms that there are already 84 internet gambling operators doing business out of Malta offering anything from traditional online poker and slots to the UK’s favourite – bingo online.

The influx of companies, including some major online bingo hall operators, has seen Mediterranean island’s stake in the online betting and gaming industry dramatically increase, especially in light of the recent closing down of the US market where online gambling financial transactions are currently strictly prohibited.

Is the market for new online casinos wide open or does everyone feel there is only so much "room" for a finite number?

Americas Watchdog has released the findings of a report on the ‘Involvement of US Banks and Major US Credit Card Issuers in Internet Gambling’ and have discovered that not all companies are adhering to the guidelines of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), introduced to the US in October 2006.

Following a 10-month investigation Americas Watchdog has revealed that some of the US’ most prolific credit card/debit card issuers and US banks continue to fund off-shore 'casino' activities, although the UIGEA makes it illegal for banking facilities to accept money transfers to and from online gambling sites, effectively making Internet gambling illegal for US citizens.

As part of the investigation, Americas Watchdog used the services of four leading online casinos from November of 2006. These were a UK-based casino (call centre), a South African casino and two Antigua-based casino/sportsbooks.

All four casinos were seen to be contravening the UIGEA by accepting US custom and payments from US banks. :thumbsup

Washington may be left with only two choices: Allow Americans to wager online with offshore casinos or ban all Internet gambling - including popular pastimes like fantasy sports leagues and off-track betting on horses, and maybe even the sale of lottery tickets online. Antigua argued that by permitting some online wagering while making it illegal for financial institutions to handle payments for Internet casinos abroad, the United States impermissibly discriminates against cyber-casinos. Washington should (must) respect the WTO ruling, permit Internet casino gambling and do all it can to protect American consumers.

This is because they continued to rebuild in the wake of US legislation last October which forced it to close operations across the Atlantic, wiping out 75% of revenues.

Are there any countries that have outright barred online gaming and gambling? Are the penalties strict?

The European online gambling industry is to urge the European Union (EU) to challenge the United States’ protectionist online gambling legislation, and to seek $100 billion compensation in the process.

Since Washington effectively banning online gambling in the United States with the introduction of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) last October, billions of dollars was wiped off the value of the industry.

(A deadline of October 22 has now been set for the US to come up with an adequate compensation package).
