I don't understand what Blinkova is doing here, maybe she came before Christmas to warm up her joints, but her game doesn't appeal to me at all. This year she has played very little on indoor courts, lost unstably and unimpressively to Diaz, unlike Ruse who fought two tie-breaks against Lepchenko herself. Well, maintaining such pace against Lepchenko means something, because Lepchenko is the one fighting for every point, her serve is powerful, she plays well with both backhand and forehand, has accurate shots to the sides, loves to shoot and hit corners, and overpower her opponents. (Here still about Lepchenko 😁 ). So, after fighting two tie-breaks with such an opponent, it means something. Adding her fiery determination, I conclude that Ruse has an advantage.
