Looking to put an end to a two-game tailspin, the Buffalo Bills will get back in action on Sunday afternoon with a road contest in Miami on the NFL betting board.
Get all your NFL odds at Bodog.
The Bills started the year well at 4-1, but since then they've managed to drop three of their past four games to sit at 5-4 straight up and 4-4-1 against the spread on the season. That has them a game behind the New England Patriots and tied with the New York Jets in the AFC East standings.
Buffalo's latest loss was especially ugly, as they were flattened by a 44-7 score in Dallas over the weekend. Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went just 20 of 31 for 146 yards passing in that defeat, with one touchdown strike and three interceptions.
Fred Jackson ran for 114 yards on 13 carries for Buffalo in their loss to Dallas, while David Nelson had the TD reception.
The Dolphins have won two games in a row after starting the campaign with seven consecutive losses – they beat the Chiefs 31-3 in Kansas City in Week 9, and they got past the Washington Redskins 20-9 at home over the weekend.
Matt Moore went 20 of 29 for 209 yards passing with no touchdowns and one interception in that win for the Dolphins, who are now 2-7 straight up and 3-6 against the spread on the season.
Reggie Bush ran for 47 yards and two scores for Miami in their win over Washington.
The Bills hold a slight edge in their series against the Dolphins in recent years, going 6-4 both straight up and against the spread over the last 10 meetings between the AFC East rivals. The OVER/UNDER went 3-7 in those 10 games.

He can't pass, barely runs faster than Aaron Rodgers, but "quarterback" Tim Tebow keeps winning. His lastest victim was leading his Denver Broncos over the New York Jets 17-13. Maybe God is truly on his side?
It was another ugly game for the first-round pick, he completed just nine of 20 passes, half a yard more than the 8.5 total oddsmakers gave him, and had 104 passing yards. And with 5:54 left in the game, Tebow had two carries for 14 rushing yards.
But with the game on the line, Tebow took control. He ran it six times for 54 yards on the game-winning drive, including a 20-yard scamper that gave the Broncos the four-point lead with 58 seconds left. A final drive by QB Mark Sanchez came up short. Hey Jets, you've just been "Tebowed."
"First and foremost I gotta thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ and my teammates," Tebow said in his post-game interview with the NFL Network. "We just kept fighting and tried to find a way to win."

Betting Analysis: The worst passer in league history is winning in the "passing league." Believe it. In a league gone nuts on tossing it down field, the Broncos are playing tough defense with a turnover-free, ball-control offense — with some late-game heroics mixed in. The result is a 4-1 record for Tebow this season and, more importantly, a 4-1 record against the spread.
One thing most NFL coaches haven't figured out in a wild 2011 season, is that passing 40-50 times per game leaves the door open for more turnovers. It gives a team like the Broncos the opportunity to play it safe, keep it close, and hope for the best. If the Broncos keep getting underdog odds it'd be un-Tebowlike to not give them a shot while their hot.

After last season’s shocking home loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the 3-6 Philadelphia Eagles have left themselves no room for error: Win their final seven games or the one-time Dream Team can forget about the playoffs this season. Philly has a tough test tonight at the NFC East-leading Giants, with New York opening as a 3.5-point favorite on Bodog’s NFL odds with live betting available.
Get all your NFL player props and NFL team props at Bodog’s online sportsbook.
The key injury here is to Eagles QB Michael Vick, who suffered two broken ribs in the Cardinals loss, in which Vick struggled by going 16-of-34 for 128 yards and two interceptions. As of this writing, it appears Vick will not play even though it’s a must-win game.
Thus Vince Young will start, but Mike Kafka could take over if Young struggles. Young, who has thrown one pass this season (an interception) came in for one play vs. the Cardinals last week. This will be his first start since Nov. 21 of last year. Kafka was inactive last week but completed 11 of 16 passes for 107 yards and two picks in relief of an injured Vick in two earlier games. It’s also not clear if Eagles No. 2 WR Jeremy Maclin will play in this game, but that doesn't look good. Riley Cooper, who hasn’t caught a pass this season, would start in his place. WR DeSean Jackson, who was benched for the Arizona game for missing at team meeting, will start.
New York (6-3) lost at San Francisco 27-20 last week to see its NFC East lead over Dallas shrink to a game. The Giants thoroughly outgained the Niners and held the ball for nearly 10 more minutes, but Eli Manning had two picks and his fourth-down pass at the San Francisco 10 was batted down in the final seconds. Manning did throw for 311 yards and two scores. The Giants forced a turnover in their 22nd straight game.
New York lost linebacker Michael Boley, its second-leading tackler, to a hamstring injury against the Niners and he is unlikely to play tonight. Also expected out is RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who missed the San Francisco game. That means Brandon Jacobs will carry the load again with D.J. Ware also getting some carries.
The Giants won 29-16 at Philadelphia in Week 3. Vick left with a hand injury in the fourth quarter after helping the Eagles overcome a 14-0 first-quarter deficit to take a 16-14 lead; Kafka then replaced Vick and was 4-for-7 for 35 yards and the two picks. Manning threw two fourth-quarter TD passes to lead the New York comeback. That win was the first time the Giants had defeated their rivals in seven contests.
Philly is 1-6 ATS in past seven following a loss. Giants are a mind-boggling 1-11 ATS in past 12 at home vs. a team with a losing road record. Eagles are 4-0 ATS in past four meetings at New York.

Two teams going in vastly opposite directions meet in one of the few marquee matchups in Week 11 in the NFL when the Chicago Bears host the San Diego Chargers, with the Bears opening as 4-point favorites on Bodog’s NFL odds with live betting available.
Get all your NFL player props and NFL team props at Bodog’s online sportsbook.
Norv Turner’s job status is very much in question in San Diego as the Bolts (4-5) have dropped four games in a row – yet are still just a game out of first in the mediocre AFC West. Last Thursday, San Diego dropped a 24-17 home decision to Oakland as Raiders backup running back Michael Bush gashed the Chargers for 242 yards from scrimmage, the most by a Raider since the 1970 merger.
And Chargers QB Philip Rivers continued his disappointing season, throwing his NFL- and career-high 15th interception and also losing a fumble for his league-leading 19th overall turnover. San Diego hasn’t lost five in a row since the start of the 2003 season.
Chicago looked in some trouble after a Monday night loss to Detroit dropped the Bears to 2-3, but Chicago (6-3) hasn’t lost since. The Bears destroyed those same Lions last week, 37-13, getting two interception returns for scores and a Devin Hester punt return for a touchdown. The real reason Chicago has been succeeding is that the offensive line has been protection Jay Cutler. He was sacked 18 times in the first five games and only five times in the past four. However, that line lost starting left guard Chris Williams for the season in that win over the Lions. Look for plenty of Matt Forte today as San Diego, as was the case vs. Oakland, has had big issues against the run.
The Chargers are a M*A*S*H unit. Four-time Pro Bowl left guard Kris Dielman has missed four games in a row and was ruled out for the season this week. Linebacker Shaun Phillips and defensive end Luis Castillo remain out. Left tackle Marcus McNeill and right guard Louis Vasquez both left the Raiders loss with injuries – no wonder Rivers was sacked six times by Oakland. And No. 2 WR Malcom Floyd also is iffy for this one. LB Takeo Spikes will play despite suffering a concussion vs. Oakland.
These two teams haven’t met since 2007, which San Diego won in Turner’s debut as coach. Bears are 6-1 ATS in past seven as a favorite. Chargers have covered just once in past six road games.

The Baltimore Ravens will likely be without their hall-of-fame linebacker when they face division rival the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday.
NFL Network's Warren Sapp said on Gameday morning that he received a tweet from Ray Lewis that indicated he would not be playing on Sunday.
Lewis is suffering from an injured toe, and considering there have been rumors that he could miss up to four weeks its not surprising that he will miss today's AFC North bout.
Get your NFL odds in the Bodog Sportsbook!
Betting Analysis: It's going to be interesting to see how the Ravens perform without its leader on Sunday. Oddsmakers don't seem too fazed by his absence, giving the Ravens a -7 spread at home. But considering the Ravens were upset by the lowly Seattle Seahawks last Week behind a 100-yard game from Marshawn Lynch there is cause for concern. Lewis has championed some of the most dominant, prideful run D's over his 15-year career, the Ravens' gap discipline could be even more out of whack without their general calling the shots.
Cedric Benson will be running the rock for the Bengals. And he'll get plenty of touches behind an offense that would rather let the running game takeover than its rookie quarterback Andy Dalton — though Dalton has proven himself more than capable in the passing game. If the Ravens can't stop the Bengals from running the rock it could another smashmouth AFC North bout, which would lend itself to a 7-point underdog.

At least according to oddsmakers, tonight’s game between New England and visiting Kansas City should be the biggest mismatch of Week 11 as the Patriots are 15-point favorites over the Chiefs on Bodog’s NFL football odds. There will be live betting available, as there is on every “Monday Night Football” telecast.

Kansas City (4-5) has been a very up-and-down team this year, following a three-game losing streak to start the season with four wins in a row. But now the bad Chiefs have shown up again as they have dropped two straight and scored a total of 13 points. Last Sunday, the Chiefs were held to 258 total yards in a 17-10 loss to Denver and also lost starting QB Matt Cassel, possibly for the season, to a hand injury.
Lefty Tyler Palko, a second-year player who was undrafted out of Pittsburgh, replaced Cassel and went 5-for-6 for 47 yards and lead KC to a meaningless field goal. Palko, who has thrown 13 passes in his short NFL career and was actually cut from a UFL team, will make his first NFL start. He faces a New England defense that is No. 32 in the NFL in passing yards allowed and will be missing Pro Bowl cornerback Devin McCourty, who separated his shoulder last week.
The Patriots (6-3) ended a rare two-game losing streak last Sunday night with one of their best efforts of the season, a 37-16 win at the Jets. Tom Brady had his highest-rated game since Week 2, throwing for 329 yards, three touchdowns and no picks. Brady usually shines on “Monday Night Football,” going 11-4 in his career. However, the Chiefs are 2-0 on MNF under coach Todd Haley.
This is the first meeting between the Chiefs and Pats since the 2008 opener, when a low hit knocked Brady out for the season. The guy who replaced him? Matt Cassel, whose strong season led to Cassel being traded to Kansas City the following offseason when former Pats VP of player personnel Scott Pioli became the GM of the Chiefs.
Chiefs are 5-0 ATS in past five as a dog. Pats are just 3-15 ATS in past 18 as a road favorite of more than 10.5 points. But they are 5-1 ATS in past six vs. teams with a losing record.

The Cardinals have one win on the road this season, while the Rams have one win at home. One of those anaemic records will get a slight boost on Sunday as St. Louis hosts Arizona in NFL betting action.
Get all your NFL odds at Bodog.
The Cardinals sit at 3-7 overall and 5-5 against the spread on the year after falling 23-7 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers over the weekend. Arizona was held scoreless in that contest until Larry Fitzgerald caught a TD pass in the fourth quarter.
John Skelton was ineffective at quarterback for Arizona against the Niners, going just 6 of 19 for 99 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in the contest. Richard Bartel then completed 8 of 16 pass attempts for 64 yards and the one TD strike.
Beanie Wells was held to just 33 rushing yards on eight carries in the loss for Arizona.
The Rams were beaten 24-7 at home by the Seahawks in Week 11, putting them at just 2-8 both straight up and against the spread through their first 10 games.
St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford went 20 of 40 for 181 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception in that losing cause, finding Brandon Lloyd in the end zone in the first quarter for the team's lone score on the day.
Steven Jackson rushed for 42 yards on 15 carries in the loss, while Lloyd had five catches for 67 yards and the touchdown.
The Rams lost 19-13 in Arizona when the teams met on November 6, with the Cardinals managing to cover the 1-point spread at home. Arizona is 9-1 straight up and 6-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between the teams.
As well, the Rams and Cardinals have played to seven straight UNDER results.

Having suffered a setback in their quest to win the AFC North division crown this season, the Cincinnati Bengals will be looking to get back on track on Sunday as they host the Cleveland Browns in NFL betting action.
Get all your NFL odds at Bodog.
The 6-4 Bengals slipped one game behind both the 7-3 Ravens and the 7-3 Steelers in the division standings with a 31-24 loss in Baltimore in Week 11 action on Sunday.
Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had an inconsistent outing against the Ravens, going 24 of 45 for 373 yards through the air with one touchdown strike, but also getting intercepted three times to post a QB Rating of 60.7 on the day.
Andre Caldwell had a TD reception for the Bengals in that loss, while Cedric Benson ran for 41 yards and two scores on 15 carries.
Riding a two-game losing streak, the Bengals are still 7-2-1 against the spread on the season. The Browns, in contrast, are a wallet-emptying 3-5-2 against the odds so far this season, and 4-6 overall heading into Sunday's matchup.
Cleveland managed to get their fourth win of the season on Sunday, holding on to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars by a 14-10 score at home.
Colt McCoy completed 17 of his 24 pass attempts for 199 yards for Cleveland in that win, with one touchdown strike and one interception. Chris Ogbonnaya rushed for 115 yards and a score on 21 carries on the day.
The Browns met the Bengals back in Week 1 of the season, losing 27-17 as a 6.5-point home favorite to set the tone for each of their campaigns. Overall Cleveland is 3-7 straight up and 5-5 against the spread over their past 10 meetings.

Back in the preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots were two of the three favorites to win the Super Bowl come February in Indianapolis (along with Green Bay). And this Sunday’s matchup in Philly between the two looked like one of the most anticipated games of the year. Well, New England is 7-3 and fighting for the top seed in the AFC, but the Eagles are 4-6 and probably need to win out to have any chance at sneaking into the playoffs. A Super Bowl rematch seems unlikely, especially with the dominance of Green Bay in the NFC.

The big question about Sunday’s game is the status of Philadelphia QB Michael Vick, who sat out last weekend’s huge 17-10 win at the New York Giants with broken ribs. Eagles officials remain optimistic Vick can return this week, but the team will start Vince Young again if Vick isn’t able to go 100 percent. Young, making his first start in a year, led the Eagles on a game-winning, 18-play, 8:10 minute drive in the fourth quarter against the Giants, capping it with an 8-yard TD pass to Riley Cooper with a little under 3 minutes remaining. It was a reversal of fortune for the Eagles, who have coughed up five games in the fourth quarter this season. Young has now won 31 games in 48 career starts, including 13 thanks to fourth-quarter drives.
Because Vick’s status is still unclear, this line is currently off the board (although it will likely be New England -3). The status of Eagles starting WR Jeremy Maclin, who also missed the Giants game, is up in the air as well. That Giants victory allowed Philadelphia to pull within two games of the Giants and Cowboys for the NFC East lead, and Philly currently has the best division record in the East and thus might hold a crucial tiebreaker down the road. The Giants and Eagles split two meetings this year, while Philly beat Dallas earlier this year and still has to travel to Big D.
New England is tied with Pittsburgh (which holds the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Patriots), Houston and Baltimore for the best record in the AFC, but the Patriots have the easiest remaining schedule among that quartet. It’s a short week for New England, which rolled past Kansas City 34-3 on Monday night. Tom Brady threw for two TDs, both to red-hot tight end Rob Gronkowski. "Gronk" now has 10 touchdown catches on the season, five in the past three games, and is the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 20 touchdown catches, doing so in 26 games. The previous record was Mike Ditka in 31 games. The NFL single-season record for TD catches by a tight end is 13. New England's offense is second in the NFL in total yards, second in passing yards, third in the red zone and fourth in points
This is the first meeting between the Patriots and Eagles since the 2007 regular season. New England is 4-0 ATS in its past four against teams with losing records. Eagles are 1-7 ATS in past eight at home.

After the first five weeks of the season, Detroit Lions fans were probably thinking they could finally look forward to their annual Thanksgiving Day game. But on Turkey Day it was the same ol’ Lions against the Green Bay Packers, numerous turnovers and the ejection of its best defender led to a 27-15 loss. The Packers opened as -4 favorites on the road in the Bodog Sportsbook.
The Lions hung with the Packers for 30 minutes, trailing 7-0 at half. But not long after Nickelback made everyone’s ears bleed Detroit was trailing 21-0 and could never recover. MVP front-runner Aaron Rodgers finished with 300-plus passing yards and two touchdowns. Par for the force. The undefeated Packers are now 11-0 on the season.
The horrible day for Detroit was punctuated by Ndamukong Suh, who got himself ejected 10 minutes into the third quarter when he shoved offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith's head into the turf and then stomped on him while coming out of the pile.
After the game Suh acted like what we all just saw was a turkey-induced hallucination.
"What I did was remove myself from the situation in the best way I felt, me being held down in the situation I was in. And further, my intentions were not to kick anybody, as I did not, removing myself as you see, I'm walking away from the situation and with that I apologize to my teammates and my fans and my coaches for putting myself in the position to be misinterpreted and taken out of the game.”
Um, what? You shoved a guy’s head into Astroturf then kicked him. We saw you do it. People in the nosebleeds saw you do it. And considering your reputation you really expect us to believe you’re the victim here?

Betting Analysis: The Lions are on a slow decline back into ... the Lions. They’ve suffered numerous injuries at running back -- including a high-ankle sprain to Kevin Smith this afternoon, quarterback Matthew Stafford has turned the ball all over nine times in three games and the defense is making more headlines for stupidity than playmaking.
The result is a 2-4 record straight up and against the spread in the Lions’ last six games. Simply put they are a hard squad to trust with your money. Also, expect Suh to get suspended as even the ghost of Johnnie Cochrane won’t get him off the hook with this latest dirty play. Without Suh the defense will be worse, without Best the offense is worse; next the Lions are at New Orleans.

In the hunt for both the NFC South crown and a Wild Card berth, the 6-4 Atlanta Falcons will be looking to avoid taking the 2-8 Minnesota Vikings too lightly on Sunday afternoon when the teams meet in Georgia in an NFL betting matchup.
Bet on the match and get any other NFL odds at Bodog.
The Falcons missed a chance to take over the lead in their division with a loss to the rival Saints two weeks ago, but they bounced back over the weekend with a 23-17 win at home over the Tennessee Titans.
Still, that victory didn't come easily, as the Titans were down 23-3 midway through the third quarter in that contest before scoring a pair of TDs to tighten up the final result.
Matt Ryan went 22 of 32 for 316 yards passing for Atlanta in that win, with one touchdown strike and no interceptions. Tony Gonzalez had the TD reception for the Falcons, with Michael Turner rushing for 100 yards and a score on 21 carries.
Atlanta is 4-5-1 against the spread on the season, while the Vikings enter Week 12 with the same 4-5-1 ATS mark after losing 27-21 at home to the Raiders on Sunday.
Christian Ponder completed 19 of 33 pass attempts for 211 yards for the Vikings in that loss, connecting on a pair of TD strikes in the fourth quarter to Percy Harvin and Kyle Rudolph. Ponder was also picked off three times on the day.
Adrian Peterson rushed for just 26 yards and a score on six carries against the Raiders before leaving the game with a sprained ankle. Peterson has run for 872 yards and 11 touchdowns on 186 carries through 10 games.
Minnesota lost 24-17 at home to Atlanta as a 3-point favorite when the teams last met back in December 2008.

Is Peyton Manning going to find himself out of a job next year? The 0-10 Indianapolis Colts can further improve their position in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes on Sunday afternoon as they host the 2-8 Carolina Panthers in an NFL betting matchup.
Get Indianpolis' betting line and any other lowly teams' NFL odds at Bodog's
The Colts are the only winless team left in the NFL this season, and everyone else has at least two victories so far after 11 weeks – the Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, and St. Louis Rams are the league's three two-win teams.
That puts Indianapolis firmly in the driver's seat for top spot in next year's NFL Draft, with Stanford QB Luck the consensus top player available. If there's any doubt about Manning's neck going forward, the Colts might just choose to cut their ties with him.
Just how little respect do books and the betting public have for Indy right now? They're sitting as 3.5-point home underdogs against two-win Carolina and rookie quarterback Cam Newton for Sunday.
And to add insult to injury, the Panthers are riding a three-game losing streak, getting beaten 49-35 on the road by the Detroit Lions last week. Newton threw for 280 yards with one touchdown strike and an ugly four interceptions in that contest, but also managed to run for 37 yards and two scores on the day.
Steve Smith had the TD reception for the Panthers in their Week 11 loss to Detroit.
The Colts were on a bye last week, last taking the field in Week 10 when they lost 17-3 at home to Jacksonville. Indy has put up a total of 27 points over their last four games.
Indianapolis is 2-8 against the spread so far this season, with Carolina a more lucrative option at 5-5 versus the odds over 10 games. The teams last met back in October 2007 when Manning guided the Colts to a 31-7 win as a 7-point favorite in Carolina.

We truly had hight hopes for Houston Texans backup Matt Leinart, but "Hollywood's" comeback attempt didn't even last a half.
The former No. 10 overall pick in the 2006 draft left at the end of the first half after taking a shot on third down and didn't return to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was later revealed he had a broken collarbone on his left throwing shoulder. His season is done. Leinart was supposed to be the QB to takeover for Matt Schaub down the stretch.
Leinart was his usual dink-and-dunking self before getting hurt, going 10 of 13 for 57 yards and one touchdown before ending up in a sling the rest of the afternoon. Rookie third stringer T.J. Yates came in the game and did an OK job, throwing past six yards and finishing 8 of 15 for 70 yards. Lucky for the Texans the Jaguars are so bad they still couldn't compete, Houston won the game 20-13 covering the -6 spread.

Betting Analysis: We were optimistic that Leinart could do a serviceable job with Schaub on the IR, but a third stringer under center? Arian Foster better learn how to run through an 11-man blitz if the Texans want to keep winning and covering spreads.
Even with Leinart's respectable resume, the Jaguars were committed to stopping the run, holding Foster to just 65 yards on 22 carries. Foster's backup Ben Tate had just five carries fro 26. This once pass-heavy squad is going to revert into a run, run, run, punt and play defense team. Luckily their D is ranked first in the NFL, it should help them stay in games down the stretch.
The question remains whether they can stay in playoff contention and stay viable as a wager. The Texans are 8-3 straight up and an impressive 7-3-1 against the spread, including a 4-0-1 ATS record over their last five. That is all in jeopardy with a rookie third stringer about to take starter snaps for Houston. The Texans face Atlanta at home before heading to Cincinnati. They face the Tennessee Titans in Week 17 -- who sit two games back in the division, a game that appears to be destined to decide the AFC South.

There’s no denying it now, Tim Tebow wins games.
Tebow completed just nine passes, but for 143 yards, and as we’ve learned ever since he took over for the Denver Broncos six games ago, you can’t stop Jesus. The Broncos beat Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers 16-13 in overtime despite being 4.5-point underdogs. Broncos kicker Matt Prater hit the game-winning kick from 37 yards out.
Tebow was essentially a running back that could throw Sunday afternoon, he ran it 22 times for 67 yards. To put that in perspective, Broncos RB Willis McGahee had 23 times for 117 yards. But who cares what Tebow is, the Broncos are 5-1 straight up since he took over and 6-5 overall. The Chargers have almost played themselves out of the AFC West, they now sit at the bottom of the division with a 4-7 record and six-straight losses.

Betting Analysis: We gotta give to Tebow the kid is clutch, and he runs the ball like Peyton Hillis, but the defense deserves a lot of props for this uncanny surge that last six weeks. The Broncos D has allowed over 15 points only twice since Tebow took over, and only truly looked bad in their 45-10 butt kicking at the hands of the Detroit Lions. To hold the Chargers offense to just 13 points, especially with your offense constantly punting the ball away, is quite an accomplishment.
To be honest you should have been cashing in on the Tebow factor already, we’re six games in and the kid is 5-1 against the spread. His angel dust is covering this whole squad, get in on the action before it dries up.

It’s now pretty evident that the whole Tyler Palko experiment isn’t working for the fading Kansas City Chiefs, so look for K.C. to start former Bears quarterback Kyle Orton at Chicago in Week 13. The Bears opened as 8-point favorites on Bodog’s NFL football odds.
Get all your NFL player props and NFL team props at Bodog’s online sportsbook.
Palko, a second-year undrafted player out of Pittsburgh, committed four turnovers, three on consecutive offensive plays in the first half and the other with 28 seconds left in the game, which were key plays in the Chiefs’ 13-9 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday night. In two starts since replacing an injured and out-for-the-season Matt Cassel, Palko is 42 for 65 for 397 yards with no touchdowns, six interceptions and one fumble.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley, who is back on the hot seat, didn’t have the option of replacing Palko with Orton on Sunday. Orton, who was claimed off waivers from Denver last week, didn’t join the Chiefs until Friday, and Haley apparently thought he was too new to the club to help. Orton was one of the Chiefs’ inactive players, leaving rookie Ricky Stanzi as their only option to Palko on Sunday night, but Stanzi never saw the field.
Asked whether Orton would be their quarterback this week, Haley said: “He’ll have a much better chance this week to compete. Tyler is the starter but … if we feel there’s somebody that gives us a better chance to win, then that’s the guideline we generally follow. I can’t really answer any of that.”
Of course it would be quite ironic for Orton to play against the Bears. When Jay Cutler went down with a broken thumb last Sunday, the Bears also made a waiver claim for Orton (as did Dallas), but Kansas City got him because it had a higher priority in the waiver system due to a worse record. Reportedly Orton told the Broncos to release him because he wanted to return to Chicago. Orton was not said to be happy that Kansas City claimed him.
The Chiefs’ season is all but over at 4-7. The Bears, meanwhile, lost in Oakland on Sunday as backup QB Caleb Hanie threw three interceptions. That ended a five-game Chicago winning streak, but the Bears are still in good wild-card shape at 7-4.

The Oakland Raiders will continue their drive for the AFC West division title on Sunday afternoon when they hit the gridiron down in Miami for an NFL betting matchup with the Dolphins.
Want to see what exactly is available to bet on? Get your NFL odds at Bodog.
The Raiders improved to 7-4 on the season over the weekend by running their winning streak to three games with a 25-20 home victory over the Chicago Bears. That kept Oakland in first place in the AFC West standings.
Carson Palmer went 21 of 37 for 301 yards passing for Oakland in that contest, with no touchdowns and one interception in the win. Michael Bush ran for 69 yards and a score on 24 carries, while Sebastian Janikowski booted six field goals on the day.
The Dolphins fell to 3-8 on the season on Thanksgiving with a 20-19 road loss in Dallas, keeping them firmly in the basement of the AFC East division standings after 12 weeks.
Matt Moore went 19 of 32 for 288 yards through the air for the Dolphins in Week 12, with one touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall in the third quarter. Shayne Graham accounted for the rest of Miami's points in that loss to the Cowboys with four field goals.
Oakland and Miami met last season, with the Raiders falling 33-17 at home as a 3-point favorite in an OVER result. The Dolphins have picked up the win in four of the last five meetings between the teams, covering the spread in three of those matchups.
Three of those five games paid out to OVER bettors, with the UNDER cashing in twice.

The fading Buffalo Bills will try to keep their AFC Wild Card hopes realistic on Sunday afternoon when they host the Tennessee Titans on the NFL odds board.
Get these and the rest of your NFL betting lines at Bodog.
The Bills lost their fourth consecutive game over the weekend, blowing a late lead and taking a 28-24 loss on the road against the New York Jets. That result put the Bills at 5-6 on the season, and they're now alone in third place in the AFC East division standings.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 26 of his 39 pass attempts for Buffalo in that loss, throwing three touchdown strikes and avoiding any interceptions. C.J. Spiller, filling in for the injured Fred Jackson, rushed for 55 yards on 19 carries in the game.
Brad Smith, Stevie Johnson, and David Nelson had the touchdown receptions for Buffalo.
The Titans pulled out a 23-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter to improve their season record to 6-5.

An NFL odds matchup at the Bodog Sportsbook between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts is usually one of the biggest games of the season. This year, though, it could end up being one of the ugliest contests on the schedule.
Get all your NFL odds for the game at Bodog.
The Patriots, at 8-3 straight up and 7-4 against the spread, have won three straight games heading into Sunday's home game versus the Colts, putting them atop the AFC East standings and tying them for the top mark in the entire conference.
The Colts, at 0-11 straight up and 2-9 against the spread, are the worst team in the entire league in a season in which QB Peyton Manning has been out with a neck injury.
And that disparity will push the odds for this contest into the stratosphere as the Colts just look to avoid total embarrassment when they play on the road against their rival.
New England is coming off a 38-20 win in Philadelphia over the weekend in which Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes and BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for a pair of scores. Brady had 361 passing yards in that game, with no interceptions.
Wes Welker had eight catches for 115 yards with two touchdowns in that win over the Eagles, while Rob Gronkowski had the team's other TD reception on the day.
The Colts fell 27-19 at home to Carolina on Sunday, with Curtis Painter completing 15 of 29 pass attempts for 226 yards with one touchdown strike and two interceptions. Donald Brown rushed for 89 yards and a score in the losing cause for Indy.
The Pats beat the Colts 31-28 at home last season as a 4.5-point favorite, but that close result was with Manning – and not Painter – guiding the Indianapolis offense.
