The Miami Heat look to avoid their first two-game losing streak on Wednesday night when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers in one of the most anticipated games of the NBA season thus far. With the likes of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Blake Griffin, you could see some incredible dunks in the game. The Heat opened as 4.5-point favorites on Bovada’s NBA betting lines.
Get all your NBA basketball odds at Bovada’s online sportsbook.
The Heat lost only their second game of the year on Tuesday night, falling 111-106 in overtime at Golden State. Wade scored a season-high 34 points after missing the last three games with a bruised left foot, but missed shots late in regulation and overtime. James had 26 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists before missing a potential tying 3-pointer in the final seconds of overtime. The Heat had 22 turnovers, missed 14 free throws and blew a 17-point lead in the third quarter by shooting 2 of 17 from the field in the final period. Wade, who had two game-winning shots this season, missed a go-ahead shot with 15 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Clippers also lost last night, falling 105-97 at Portland. Caron Butler had 20 points for Los Angeles, which had its three-game winning streak snapped. Chris Paul was limited by foul trouble, after collecting his fourth early in the third quarter, and finished with 11 points. Griffin, who had just four points after the first half, finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
This is the lone meeting of the season, with the Clippers not scheduled to visit Miami due to the restructured post-lockout schedule. The Heat have lost their last three road games against the Clippers, going 1-1 against the Clippers in each of the past four seasons. Miami is 2-1 thus far on the second night of back-to-backs this season. L.A. is 0-6 ATS in past six vs. Eastern Conference. The home team has covered in the past seven meetings in this series.

Two teams headed in opposite directions will meet on the hardwood in Chicago on Wednesday night as the high-flying Bulls get a visit from the lowly Washington Wizards in an NBA betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Bet on basketball odds today.
The Bulls are riding high in the NBA's Eastern Conference standings in the early going, while the Wizards have the fewest wins in the league. That's why Chicago is at 11/2 odds to win the NBA championship this season, while Washington is a 250/1 longshot.
As well, the Bulls were sitting at 11/4 odds to win the Eastern Conference this season at last update at Bovada's online sportsbook, with the Wizards at 125/1 odds on that list.
And the historical head-to-head results don't look good for Washington either, as they've dropped eight of their past 10 games against Chicago over the past few seasons. The teams split those 10 games against the spread, with the UNDER paying off nine times.
Washington might catch a break on Wednesday night, though, as the Bulls will be playing the third game of a back-to-back-to-back set that had them face Detroit at home on Monday, travel to Minnesota on Tuesday, then head back home for Wednesday's game.
Chicago blasted the Pistons on Monday to start that stretch, winning 92-68 with Carlos Boozer pouring in 23 points and Derrick Rose scoring 22 points and adding eight assists. Joakim Noah tossed in just four points in that contest but grabbed eight rebounds.
The Wizards will be playing just their second game in two nights on Wednesday, as they faced the Raptors in Washington on Tuesday night before heading north to Chicago.

After upsetting the Miami Heat last time out the Golden State Warriors will try to dispatch another Florida squad on Thursday night when they host the Orlando Magic in NBA betting action at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Get your NBA odds today.
The Warriors beat the Heat 111-106 at home in their last game on Tuesday night despite allowing LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to combine for 60 points. Nate Robinson had a team-high 24 points for Golden State off the bench in that contest.
Monta Ellis was good for 22 points in the win over the Heat, while David Lee and Dorrell Wright picked up 20 points apiece and combined for 24 rebounds. Stephen Curry missed the game with a sprained ankle and there's currently no timetable for his return to action.
That victory, however, only put Golden State at 3-6 overall (but 5-4 against the spread) on the season, as they'd lost their previous five games to the Sixers, Suns, Spurs, Lakers, and Jazz. The OVER/UNDER sits at 3-5-1 in Golden State contests.
The Warriors last met the Magic last March, when they won 123-120 as a 5-point home underdog on the NBA betting lines. That result, though, was not typical for those teams, as Orlando is 7-3 straight up and 6-4 against the spread over their 10 most recent matchups.
The OVER has paid off just four times in the last 10 meetings between Golden State and Orlando for bettors on the totals at Bovada's online sportsbook.

The NBA on TNT Thursday doubleheader tonight opens with a suddenly surging New York Knicks team visiting a Memphis club that looks a bit lost and has been a big disappointment thus far. New York is a 4.5-point favorite on Bovada’s NBA basketball odds and there will be live play-by-play betting available.
Get all your NBA basketball odds at Bovada’s online sportsbook.
Tonight is the second of a back-to-back for the Knicks (6-4), who enter on a four-game losing streak. Wednesday night they ended the Philadelphia 76ers’ NBA-high six-game winning streak with an 85-79 victory. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 27 points and nine rebounds.
New York isn’t known as a defensive team, but it has held the past two opponents under 90 points s, something the team hadn’t done in back-to-back games in the past six seasons. The Knicks have held their last three opponents under 88 points, a streak the Knicks haven't touched since March 2004. The Knicks allowed three of their first six opponents to shoot above 50 percent and started 2-4. In the winning streak, opponents are shooting 41 percent from the field.
Memphis (3-6) last played Tuesday, falling 100-95 to Oklahoma City in a playoff rematch from last season. Marc Gasol led Memphis, which dropped its third in a row, with 20 points and 14 rebounds. The Grizz badly miss injured big men Zach Randolph and Darrell Arthur, the latter out for the season. For example, the Grizzlies' last two opponents combined to grab a total of 31 more rebounds.
Grizzlies small forward Rudy Gay didn't practice Wednesday because of left hip soreness, a condition he's played with for the past several games. But he expects to play tonight. Memphis lost both meetings with New York last season. Anthony has averaged 31.8 points on 51.3 percent shooting in his last five games at the FedEx Forum (most of those with the Nuggets).

Don't tell Kobe Bryant, the original NBA villain (LeBron James has that title now), that he's getting too old to dominate in the NBA.
NBA odds listed the L.A. Lakers as -2 favorites going into Utah, and the Lakers were able to pull it off behind the hot hand of Bryant. Bryant dropped 40 on the Jazz off 31 shots. L.A. won 90-87 after overtime.

NBA lines are up right now in the Bovada Sportsbook!
***
"It felt good to get a road win here," Bryant said. "It's a very tough place to play and it was a huge test for us."
What makes Bryant's performance so impressive is that he dropped 40-plus in back-to-back games. 24 hours ago Bryant dropped 48 on the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers were able to cover the spread in that game too, listed at -7.5.
Betting Analysis: Can Kobe keep it up? That's the question bettors should be asking themselves. A red hot Kobe usually means the Lakers will go on a tear against the spread -- L.A. has won three straight ATS so far -- but the question remains whether his body can keep up. Bryant is coming off knee surgery and recetly injured the wrist on his shooting hand.
Another unsung tip on the Lakers is their newfound love of defense. The Lakers have gone UNDER the total in three straight as well, and in seven of their last 10.

The Milwaukee Bucks will begin a short two-game road trip on Friday night as they head down to Dallas to take on the defending-champion Mavericks in an NBA betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Why wait? Get your NBA odds today.
The Mavericks, though, haven't exactly played like defending champions so far this season, as they're hovering around the .500 mark and they've slipped to 16/1 odds to win the 2012 NBA championship. Milwaukee is sitting at 150/1.
And betting on the Bucks against the Mavericks has been a good way to make money over the past few seasons, as Milwaukee sits at a healthy 8-2 against the spread in the past 10 meetings between the teams since early 2007. The Bucks, though, managed to win just four of those 10 games straight up.
As well, it's paid to take the OVER in Mavericks/Bucks contests lately, as the teams have put up combined scores that went OVER the posted total in seven straight matchups.
Milwaukee won both games between these teams last season; they picked up a 103-99 victory as a 7.5-point road underdog in December 2010, then won 99-87 at home as a pick'em last January. Dirk Nowitzki sat out that January loss for the Mavericks.
For Friday night, the Mavericks might be without point guard Jason Kidd as he's been out with a back injury. Kidd last played on January 5 against San Antonio, and he's averaged just 4.9 points (and 4.5 assists) per game so far this season.

The highlight of the busy Monday NBA schedule is the last game of them all when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Dallas Mavericks at 10:30 p.m. ET on TNT in the first meeting between these teams since Dallas memorably swept out the Lakers from last year’s Western Conference semifinals. L.A. is a 4-point favorite tonight on Bovada’s NBA odds.

This game also marks the return of Lamar Odom against his former Lakers team. Central to changes with each team this offseason was the Odom being traded from Los Angeles to Dallas in the preseason in exchange for a first-round pick and a trade exception. It was a trade that was mystifying to many, including Kobe Bryant. Odom, who spent seven seasons with the Lakers and was a key part of two titles, was so hurt by it that he contemplated taking a year off from basketball. Through his first 13 games in Dallas, Odom has struggled, averaging only 6.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. His 20 minutes per game represent a career low by far.
Dallas (8-5) enters off its most dominant performance of the year, a 99-60 thrashing of Sacramento on Saturday. Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki only played 20 minutes, scoring 14 points. And point guard Jason Kidd (lower back) returned after sitting out four consecutive games. The Kings went 22 for 86 from the field (25.6 percent) against a Mavericks team that allowed the fewest points in franchise history. Dallas is now on a season-high five game-winning streak.
The Lakers (9-5) have won eight in a row at home since losing on Opening Day. But they enter off a lost on that home court, falling 102-94 as the visitor against the Clippers on Saturday. Kobe had 42 points in that one, his fourth straight game with at least 40. Bryant was 14 of 28 and made 12 of 14 free throws. He had 42 against Cleveland on Friday, 48 against Phoenix on Tuesday and 40 at Utah on Thursday. It's the first time an NBA player hit the 40-point mark in four straight since Bryant did it five times from March 16-25, 2007.
Dallas dropped two of three vs. L.A. last regular season before that playoff sweep. Nowitzki averaged 25.3 points on 57.4 percent shooting and 9.3 rebounds in the four playoff games, while Bryant averaged 23.3 points and got little help from Pau Gasol, who averaged 12.5 points. Dallas has covered in eight of its past 10 at the Lakers.

The Phoenix Suns are in a tailspin, and they'll continue a tough road trip that could sink them further in the standings on Tuesday night as they battle the Chicago Bulls in an NBA betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Get your odds for the NBA season today.
Phoenix fell 102-91 in San Antonio in their last game on Sunday night, which was their fourth straight defeat. That puts the Suns at 4-8 straight up and 5-7 against the spread through 12 games, with their OVER/UNDER mark at 3-8-1.
Steve Nash picked up 20 points and 10 assists for Phoenix in that defeat, while Marcin Gortat was good for 24 points and 15 rebounds for the Suns. Jared Dudley chipped in with 12 points and eight boards in the losing cause.
That defeat by the Spurs came on the heels of losses to the Lakers, Cavaliers, and Nets last week for the Suns, and the once high-powered team has only topped 105 points once in eight January contests.
And on Tuesday the Suns will be facing the top team in the Eastern Conference, with the Bulls beginning the season so well that they're up to 5/1 on the NBA futures at Bovada's online sportsbook – which puts them behind only the 7/4 Miami Heat.
Phoenix is well back at 150/1 odds to win the title this season, and they're just 4-6 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games against the Bulls. The OVER/UNDER went 5-5 in those 10 Suns/Bulls matchups.

The Miami Heat will not have star guard Dwyane Wade in the lineup tonight when they host the San Antonio Spurs looking to end a three-game losing streak. The Heat are 7-point favorites on Bovada’s NBA betting odds.
Get all your NBA basketball odds at Bovada’s online sportsbook.
Wade suffered a badly sprained ankle in Friday’s loss in Denver, Miami’s season-high third defeat in a row. He is out indefinitely. But Miami is 3-0 this season in games that Wade has missed. Guard James Jones, who barely played on Miami’s just completed road trip, would get a bigger role in the rotation. And forward Shane Battier would also see some time at shooting guard. Last time Wade was out, LeBron James picked up the slack to the tune of 32.5 points, 11 assists and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of games.
The Heat could get back swingman Mike Miller tonight. He has yet to play in a game this season after recovering from a sports hernia but has been practicing.
The Spurs have won three in a row, but all those were at home – San Antonio is 0-4 on the road. In fact, San Antonio last notched a road victory April 5, 2011 with a 97-90 victory at Atlanta. It’s been a period of 287 days heading into tonight’s game. Including the end of the regular season, playoffs and preseason, the Spurs have lost 10 straight games on the road.
San Antonio, led by point guard Tony Parker (Manu Ginobili remains sidelined due to injury), and Orlando are the only two NBA teams that rank in the top 10 in points, field-goal percentage, three-point shooting percentage and assists per game.
In last season’s visit to Miami, on March 14, San Antonio was crushed 110-80 for its worst loss in nearly three seasons. A week before that game, Miami was beaten by the same 30-point margin in San Antonio. The Heat are 0-4 ATS in their past four vs. Western Conference. The favorite has covered in the past five meetings between these two.

The San Antonio Spurs will complete their two-game trip to Florida on Wednesday as they take on the Magic in Orlando in an NBA betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Get your basketball odds for the season today.
San Antonio is sitting near the top of the Western Conference standings so far this season despite the loss of guard Manu Ginobili to a broken hand. Ginobili had surgery earlier this month and he's not expected back in the lineup until February.
The Spurs, though, still have Tim Duncan and Tony Parker holding down the fort, and that's been enough to keep them in the second tier of contenders on the NBA championship futures at Bovada's online sportsbook at 25/1 to win the title.
The Magic are just behind San Antonio at 28/1 to win the NBA championship this season, but bettors are walking on eggshells when it comes to Orlando futures – new trade rumours swirl around star center Dwight Howard every week.
By far the Magic's best player, Howard is the key to any postseason success they might have this year – if he's finally dealt, money plunked down on Orlando futures won't look like a smart wager.
The Spurs and Magic have split their last 10 meetings both straight up and against the spread, but it was Orlando that thumped San Antonio 123-101 as a 2-point home favorite on the NBA odds when the teams last met back in December 2010.
Howard poured in 29 points and grabbed 14 boards for the Magic in that victory over the Spurs, and J.J. Redick tossed in 17 points off the bench on the day. Parker was good for 16 points in that loss for San Antonio, and Duncan was held to 12 points and six boards.

With eight wins so far in nine January outings the Utah Jazz will try to stay on their roll on Thursday night when they host the Dallas Mavericks in an NBA betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Get all your NBA odds at the online sportsbook today.
And Utah has been paying off for bettors as well, as they're 8-5 against the spread (9-4 straight up) through their first 13 games of the season.
The Jazz ride a three-game winning streak into Thursday's contest, getting past the Nets and Nuggets in road games over the weekend and then taking care of business at home against the Clippers on Tuesday night with an easy 108-79 victory.
Paul Millsap led the way for the Jazz in that win with 20 points, while C.J. Miles chipped in with 19 points off the bench. Al Jefferson picked up 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Devin Harris added 13 points and four assists.
Utah's recent success, though, hasn't put them in the top tier of contenders on the NBA futures at Bovada's online sportsbook – they're back at 100/1 odds to win the championship this season. The Mavericks are at 16/1 odds to repeat as the champions.
And Dallas has had Utah's number over the past couple of seasons, as they're 7-3 both straight up and against the spread in the last 10 meetings between the teams. The Mavs are also riding a four-game winning streak SU and ATS against Utah into Thursday.
The OVER/UNDER has been split down the middle at 5-5 over their 10 latest matchups.

When Bovada opened its preseason NBA championship odds, the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers were Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, on that list. And neither team has done much to change things as they meet tonight on national television (TNT, 8 p.m. ET) in one of the season’s most anticipated games. The Heat are 5.5-point home favorites on Bovada’s NBA odds.
Get all your NBA basketball odds at Bovada’s online sportsbook.
The big story heading into this matchup is the status of Heat guard Dwyane Wade. He is not expected to play – but hasn’t been ruled out yet – because of a sprained ankle that kept him out of Tuesday’s 120-98 win over San Antonio. It was the fourth game Wade has missed this season and Miami has won all four, with both LeBron James and Chris Bosh raising their games big time. Officially Wade is questionable but he couldn’t practice Wednesday so don’t expect to see him.
Miami (9-4) trailed the Spurs by 17 points in the first half on Tuesday but blew off the doors in the third quarter, outscoring San Antonio 39-12 – James outscored the Spurs himself by five points and the Heat shot 68 percent in the second half. James and Bosh combined for 63 points. The Heat lead the NBA in scoring at 107.2 ppg.
The Lakers (10-5) begin a two-night swing through Florida and are just 1-4 on the road. They won at home on Monday night, 73-70 over Dallas despite just 14 points from Kobe Bryant. He had scored at least 40 in the previous four games. Kobe hasn’t fared well vs. LeBron in his career, losing the past four matchups (two when James was with Cleveland). And the Lakers are 1-6 in their past seven at Miami. Bryant leads the NBA in scoring this season while James is No. 2.
L.A. is 0-5 ATS in past five as a road underdog. Heat are 1-4 ATS in past five vs. Western Conference. The underdog is 0-6 ATS in past six meetings.

The Dallas Mavericks have owned the Phoenix Suns over the last couple of seasons, but they won't have their leader Dirk Nowitzki on the floor on Monday night as the two teams hook up down in Texas.
Bet on NBA action all this week with the lines and totals at Bovada's online sportsbook.
Nowitzki has been shut down by the Mavericks for the next four games in order to rest a sore knee. That leaves a hole on the hardwood for Dallas – which sits at 10-7 straight up and 11-6 against the spread on the season - heading into Monday night's contest.
The power forward led the way with 20 points, six boards, and seven assists for the Mavericks when they beat the Suns 98-89 at home in the last meeting between the teams on January 4. Jason Terry was good for 18 points off the bench for Dallas in that contest, with Lamar Odom adding 15 points, and Shawn Marion scoring 13 points.
Steve Nash scored 15 points and added 12 assists in that losing cause for the Suns, while Marcin Gortat had 22 points and 10 rebounds. Grant Hill chipped in with 14 points.
That result in early January marked Dallas' sixth consecutive win over Phoenix, and they're 9-1 straight up in the past 10 games between the teams. Bettors have seen the Mavs pay off on the NBA odds lines in that stretch as well, going 8-2 against the spread in those games.
Six of the last 10 meetings between the Mavericks and the Suns have been UNDER results.

The Memphis Grizzlies are locked in a battle for top spot in the Southwest Division standings despite not having Zach Randolph in the lineup. They'll play their second game in two nights on Tuesday when they travel to Portland to meet the Trail Blazers.
Get your NBA odds for the matchup at Bovada.
Randolph tore a ligament in his knee earlier in the season and isn't expected to return to action for Memphis until the middle of February. That, however, hasn't kept the Grizzlies from being competitive this season, as they'd reeled off six straight victories heading into their late matchup in Golden State on Monday night.
And that surge has the Grizzlies jockeying with the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks for first place in the Southwest Division standings this week. To date, though, that hasn't boosted Memphis on the NBA futures list, as they're at 40/1 to win the championship this year, with the Mavericks at 18/1 and the Spurs pegged at 25/1.
The Trail Blazers are sitting at 22/1 on the NBA championship futures, moving up from 35/1 odds on that list at the beginning of January.
However, the Blazers could begin to slip on that chart again, as a promising start to the month has taken a turn over the past couple of weeks with the team losing five of their past seven games heading into a late Monday matchup at home against Sacramento.
Portland, though, is still in the thick of things in the bunched-up Western Conference standings, and they have managed to pick up seven wins over their past 10 games against the Grizzlies dating back to early 2009.
The Trail Blazers have just a slight ATS edge in those 10 contests, going 5-4-1 against the spread over that span. The OVER/UNDER went 6-4 for totals bettors in those games.

The Boston Celtics trounced the Orlando Magic when the teams met in Beantown on Monday night, so Dwight Howard and company will be looking to turn the tables when the squads stage a rematch in the Sunshine State on Thursday.
NBA Back in Business. The biggest stars hit the hardwood. Bet on the NBA at Bovada.
The Celtics held the Magic to just 20 second-half points on Monday en route to an easy 87-56 victory. Orlando had actually been favored by 7 points on the road in that game; the combined score fell well UNDER the posted total of 175.5 points.
Rajon Rondo (wrist) and Ray Allen (ankle) didn't even play for Boston on Monday, with Paul Pierce leading the team on offense with 19 points and seven assists. Kevin Garnett picked up 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics in that Monday victory.
Howard was the lone bright spot for the Magic on Monday, as he scored 18 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Hedo Turkoglu tossed in seven points for Orlando that day.
The Celtics will be hoping that Monday's win will snap them out of their early-season funk – they head into Thursday's game at just 7-9 straight up and 8-8 against the spread on the season.
And Boston also has a solid track record against Orlando in the past couple of seasons, as they're 7-3 straight up and 6-3-1 against the spread in their past 10 games against the Magic. The OVER/UNDER went 2-7-1 in those 10 contests.
Allen isn't expected to play for Boston on Thursday, but Rondo is probable to play.

The Miami Heat haven't covered a spread against New Orleans since 2005, but with those teams headed in completely different directions this season are LeBron James and company ready to pay off on the NBA betting lines against the Hornets on Monday night?
NBA Back in Business. The biggest stars hit the hardwood. Bet on the NBA at Bovada.
The Heat will play host to the Hornets on Monday, with both teams coming off games on Sunday – Miami got a visit from the Bulls, and New Orleans was hosting the Hawks.
So that means Miami – a team battling for first place overall in the Eastern Conference – will be a large favorite against New Orleans – a team sitting in last place overall in the Western Conference.
But history won't be on the Heat's side on Monday, at least when it comes to covering the spread against the Hornets. New Orleans is a remarkable 10-0-2 ATS in its past dozen games against Miami, and 14-4-2 ATS in their 20 most recent meetings.
The last time the Heat covered a spread against the Hornets was in April 2005, when they won 111-99 as a 9-point road favorite on the NBA odds. Dwyane Wade poured in 33 points for the Heat in that game, and Shaquille O'Neal was good for 34 points.
O'Neal, of course, isn't around to help the Heat on Monday, but Wade at least is back from his ankle injury – he returned on Friday against the Knicks and didn't look like he'd missed a beat with 28 points in the team's 99-89 home win.
Miami has fared a bit better straight up against New Orleans, but not much – they're only 3-7 SU in the past 10 meetings between the teams dating back to 2006. However, the Heat now have James on the roster, and the Hornets no longer have Chris Paul.

What's the cure for a team that has lost eight games in a row? Well, it's probably not a date at the Staples Center against the Los Angeles Lakers, which the Charlotte Bobcats have on Tuesday night.
NBA Back in Business. The biggest stars hit the hardwood. Bet on the NBA at Bovada.
The Bobcats ran their losing streak to eight games on Saturday, falling 102-99 at home to the Washington Wizards. Kemba Walker was the bright spot for Charlotte in that contest, assembling a triple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.
Byron Mullins added 23 points off the bench for Charlotte in that loss to the Wizards, while Boris Diaw was good for 21 points and 10 assists in the contest.
The Bobcats are now 3-18 straight up and 7-14 against the spread on the season, while the Lakers are 12-9 straight up and 9-12 against the spread after beating the Timberwolves 106-101 in Minnesota on Sunday.
Kobe Bryant poured in 35 points and added 14 boards for Los Angeles in that win over the T-Wolves, with Pau Gasol adding 28 points, and Andrew Bynum contributing 21 points and seven rebounds.
The Lakers beat the Bobcats 92-84 at home as a 12.5-point favorite when the teams last met last March, but overall Los Angeles has had surprisingly little success against Charlotte recently – they're just 3-7 SU and an ugly 1-9 ATS in the past 10 meetings.
The last time Los Angeles managed to cover the spread in a game against Charlotte was back in February 2008, when they won 106-97 as an 8.5-point road favorite in an UNDER result. The OVER/UNDER sits at 4-6 over their past 10 matchups.

The Utah Jazz have completely owned the Los Angeles Clippers in the last few seasons, but will that change now that L.A.'s other team has Chris Paul running the show? Those Western Conference squads will square off in Utah in Wednesday night action.
NBA Back in Business. The biggest stars hit the hardwood. Bet on the NBA at Bovada.
The Jazz have won nine of their past 10 games against the Clippers, and they also managed to cover the posted spread in eight of those contests. Going back even farther, Utah has records of 16-4 SU and 15-5 ATS over their past 20 meetings.
And the Jazz also have a win over the Clippers already this season, beating Los Angeles handily by a score of 108-79 in Utah on January 17 as a 5-point home favorite on the Bovada NBA odds.
The Clippers, though, didn't have Chris Paul in the lineup for that January 17 defeat, as he sat out the game with a hamstring injury. Paul has since returned to the lineup.
Caron Butler led the way for Los Angeles with 14 points in that loss to the Jazz a few weeks ago, while Blake Griffin was held to just 10 points and 11 rebounds. Courtney Fortson added 13 points off the bench, and Chauncey Billups scored 10 points.
Paul Millsap paced Utah's offense with 20 points in that victory, and C.J. Miles was good for 19 points off the bench on the night. Devin Harris chipped in with 13 points, and Al Jefferson added 10 points and 13 rebounds.
The combined score of that Jazz/Clippers matchup in January turned the game into an UNDER result for totals bettors. The OVER/UNDER has gone 5-5 in the past 10 meetings between the two teams.

The Boston Celtics are playing their best basketball of the season so far, taking a four-game winning streak into Tuesday night’s home game with the NBA’s worst team, the Charlotte Bobcats. Boston opened as a 14-point favorite on Bovada’s NBA basketball betting odds.
Back in Business. The biggest stars hit the hardwood. Bet on all the NBA action at Bovada!
The Bobcats (3-21) are simply terrible and are averaging only 83.0 points during their 11-game losing streak. And things aren’t likely to get much better soon unless owner Michael Jordan laces them up. Leading Charlotte scorer Gerald Henderson is out at least a few weeks with a strained hamstring. In addition, point guard D.J. Augustin, the team’s second-leading scorer and top assist man, and small forward Corey Maggette (fourth-leading scorer) are also out injured.
There were a few bright spots for Charlotte in Saturday’s 95-89 loss at Phoenix. Rookie center Bismack Biyombo made his first career start and finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Biyombo is the youngest player in the NBA. And fellow rookie Kemba Walker had one of his best games with 22 points. He also added four assists and three rebounds with just one turnover in 41 minutes.
The Celtics (13-10) haven’t exactly beaten a great team during the winning streak, but Paul Pierce is playing his best ball of the season so it's no coincidence that Boston is as well. Pierce was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for last week. He averaged 22 points, 6.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds in four games. Pierce is 10 points from eclipsing Larry Bird for second on the Celtics' all-time scoring list.
This is the first meeting of the season between these two and Charlotte’s only trip to Boston. The Bobcats are 9-2 ATS in their past 11 trips to Beantown. Charlotte’s only road win this year came Jan. 4 at the Knicks.

The reigning NBA champion Mavericks finally got back to .500 on Tuesday night thanks to a 100-86 win at Detroit. Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points as Dallas (5-5) won on the road for the first time, leading by as many as 28 in the second half. Shawn Marion scored 14 points and Vince Carter added 11 for the Mavericks. Nowitzki shot 5 of 22 over his previous two games, but he broke out of that slump against the Pistons, going 9 of 10. He made all six attempts from the field in the first half, and Dallas shot 55 percent for the game. The Mavs played without injured point guard Jason Kidd and he won’t be back tonight, either.
Boston (4-4) has had one of its longest breaks of the season, having not played since losing 87-74 to Indiana on Friday. Indiana shot just 40.5 percent from the field but held the Celtics to 39.4 percent, including a 26.5 percent first half in which Boston tied a franchise low with 25 points. Paul Pierce, who missed the first three games of the season, was just 3-for-17 from the field. It was the Celtics’ first home loss of the season. Boston could be without key bench player Marquis Daniels tonight because of the flu.
The Mavericks swept the Celtics last season for the first time since 2006-07, including a 101-97 victory in Boston, the second straight year they've won on the Celtics' home floor. Nowitzki averaged 27 points and made all 17 of his free throw attempts in the two games. Dallas has won nine of its last 12 visits to Boston. The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the past four meetings.
