Result: Germany vs Australia 4-0
As usual Germany is as efficient as a supercar is to get female attention 😁
Australia isnt a strong team but was still a good way to see if the german nerves held the first game.
Lets see what they can do with Serbia, I hope for another win.
Apparently Denmark made a self-goal helping Netherlands to win the soccer match. No fun for Simon Poulsen which did the goal 😔
Result: Netherland vs Denmark 2-0
Italy lost today against slovakia 3-2
How do you feel as an italian soccer fan ?
Anyone had a bet on them as winners ?
Bangkok's force has arrested 56 bookmakers or their associates and 1,156 gamblers who have made bets totalling 3.4 million baht ($A124,762).
Thai courts have so far handed jail sentences ranging from one to six months to 24 gamblers, although most of the sentences have been suspended, the police statement said.
Most forms of gambling are outlawed in the kingdom but it remains popular, despite the threat of a 1,000 baht fine or jail term of up to one year for having a flutter on the tournament, which began on June 11 in South Africa.
Thai police have set up special centres around the country to stamp out World Cup gambling, which the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce estimates will top 37.0 billion baht this year.

Neither country has won the World Cup before, with the Netherlands falling in two finals in the 1970s and Spain getting to the championship for the first time. No team has ever won the World Cup after dropping its first game of the tournament, which Spain did to Switzerland. And no European side has ever won the World Cup off its own continent. This is the first World Cup final not to feature Brazil, Germany, Argentina, or Italy.
The Netherlands won every World Cup qualifying match and each of the six so far in this tournament. Only one other side, Brazil in 1970, has gone through qualifying and the finals with a 100 percent record (i.e. no draws either). In fact, the Dutch are on a 25-match unbeaten streak. If Spain wins, it will be the second team to win the World Cup while the reigning European Champions, joining 1974 World Cup champion (West) Germany. The Spaniards only have seven goals in this tournament, and no country has won the championship scoring less than 11 goals.
The winner of the Golden Boot Award should be decided today as Spain’s David Villa and Holland’s Wesley Sneijder both lead this tournament with five goals. If the Dutch win, Sneijder will cap a year unlike any. He would win a fourth major title in one year: He helped Inter Milan win a league championship, Italian Cup and Champions League crown.
In nine all-time matches, each side has won four times. No players will be forced to sit out because of a suspension in this match.

At least she is not capable of the powerful displays of speed and determination we saw from her in all of her eight starts last year.
Facing multiple stakes winning LIFE AT TEN and her first ever attempt at 1-1/4 miles in the Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga on Sunday, Rachel did manage to beat Life At Ten in their private speed duel, but wilted badly in the final 1/16 miles and was caught from behind by the moderately accomplished 4-year-old filly PERSISTENTLY.
"The pace duel hurt us," said jockey Calvin Borel. "When we turned into the stretch with the lead, she did not accelerate like I thought she would and I was worried if there was something coming from behind."
There was. Her name was Persistently, a filly owned by the Phipps family and trained by Shug McGaughey, the same connections who raced undefeated Personal Ensign more than 20 years ago.
Last year none of this would have mattered. This year, the results of the Personal Ensign coupled with two early season defeats, clearly indicate that Rachel Alexandra paid a price for her adventurous 2009 campaign. She is not the same horse.
Fact is, owner Jess Jackson should realize that there is nothing to be gained by running Rachel Alexandra any further. She can not realistically go on to the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic at 1-1/4 miles, and there would be little to gain pointing for the nine furlong $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic. Frankly, if the decision were to be made by her many thousands of fans, Rachel would be retired by the time you read this.
Post Travers Stakes Analysis, Pacific Classic & Pat O'Brien Notes
Having said all that…here are some short takes on some of the most significant happenings in the Travers Stakes and the Pacific Classic, the two million-dollar races that were on center stage at Saratoga and Del Mar the day before Rachel suffered her third defeat in five races this year.
Kentucky Derby winner SUPER SAVER and ICE BOX, who was a much troubled second-place at Churchill Downs on May 1, were never in contention in the 1-1/4 mile Travers, finishing 10th and 8th respectively as if they have seen their best days at this level of competition.
AFLEET EXPRESS, however, a colt who missed the 2010 Triple Crown, won the 141st Travers by the slimmest of nose margins over FLY DOWN. He won it with a pluperfect rail hugging ride from Javier Castellano, who rallied his mount to a clear lead in the upper stretch before holding off a wide running Fly Down in a race that was a millimeter shy of a dead heat.
FIRST DUDE, a gallant second to LOOKIN AT LUCKY in the Preakness, held third in the Travers and is proving to be the most resilient of the 2010 Triple crown participants. The fifth place performance by A LITTLE WARM strongly suggested that his prep race victory in the Jim Dandy may have been the peak performance of his 3-year-old season.
Lukewarm $3.90-1 betting favorite TRAPPE SHOT faded badly through the final 3/8 miles to finish 9TH and a similar fate occurred to the highly publicized maiden winner, ADMIRAL ALEX, who finished last and was inappropriately bet down to $11.30-1 when he probably should have been 30-1 or higher.
At Del Mar, it was an encore performance for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith and the 2009 Pacific Classic winner, RICHARD'S KID.
"He felt the same to me this time as he did last year," Smith said referring to Richard Kid's repeat score on Saturday in the $1 Million, 1-1/4 mile race. Euro import CROWDED HOUSE was second in his second American outing, DAKOTA PHONE and BATTLE OF HASTINGS were third and fourth, while betting favorite, THE USUAL Q.T. finished fifth after failing to convert his hard hitting turf form to the synthetic Polytrack.
The Baffert trained EL BRUJO won the 7 furlong $300,000 Pat O'Brien Stakes on the Pacific Classic undercard, but the horse to watch is CROWN OF THORNS, who finished a strong second in his first start since losing a photo in the Breeders' Cup Sprint last year.
"I've always thought he'd do well going farther," said trainer Dick Mandella. "So this year we'll go from here to the (1-1/8 mile) Goodwood at Oak Tree (as a prep), instead of keeping him sprinting."
The scheme, to be piloted by the players' union, aims to highlight the perils of excessive gambling.
Kyle told BBC Scotland: "If that opportunity had come where I could speak to somebody confidentially, it would've been easier."
The project also aims to address issues regarding the integrity of the sport.
But it is the first strand of the plan, that is most relevant to Kyle, who began gambling as a teenager.
In a candid interview with BBC Scotland he describes how, as a young player with Sunderland, his habit became increasingly worse. "I remember, come to the end of each month, having no money left for getting to training, or wanting to go home to Scotland because I'd just be gambling it all away," he added.
"It was a disaster and I didn't know who to turn to or how I was going to combat this problem, and that's why it probably gripped me for a good 15 years."
Kyle puts his successful rehabilitation down to the help of his partner, but believes the approach to be taken by PFA Scotland - in conjunction with the counselling charity RCA Trust - can also work, but only if the support is offered over a sustained period.
"Being a gambler, you feel ashamed of yourself, so to go and speak to someone about it is a very brave thing to do," he added.
"I'm sure there are kids out there in youth teams and even senior players who are looking for this kind of help, but they're maybe too scared to speak to somebody about it.
"But if somebody comes to them it might be the opportunity where they can actually open up and hopefully get it sorted out, because gambling is every bit as bad (as drink and drugs)."
Kyle maintains that a gambling culture is rife within football and that his own experience is by no means an isolated one.
"I could probably pick any team in the Scottish Premier League and know someone through word of mouth who's a mad gambler," he continued.
The Hearts forward admits his addiction almost certainly contributed to his failure to live up to his potential, with his gambling losses playing on his mind and affecting his on-field performances.
He believes that it was only after he joined Kilmarnock in 2009, and subsequently Hearts the following year, that he has been able to concentrate fully again on playing. Kyle also endorses the second area of the new pilot project, which aims to ensure that players are fully versed on rules surrounding gambling, so that they do not land themselves in trouble by - innocently or otherwise - compromising the integrity of the game.
The recent sending off of Motherwell's Steve Jennings, which is being investigated by the Association of British Bookmakers because of an alleged irregular pattern of bets placed on that eventuality, has brought the issue into focus.
PFA Scotland chairman Jack Ross says this initiative was in the pipeline before Jennings' dismissal in December, but admits it makes it all the more timely.
"The situation around Steve and the publicity it generated would act as a wake-up call to any player to realise they could be entirely innocent in a situation but, because they're in a relatively high-profile job and because of what's happened in other sports, it'll make front page news," he told BBC Scotland.
Ross is hopeful that the pilot, if it proves successful and if funding can be secured, will be rolled out to all senior clubs in Scotland.
Valencia is carrying some nice momentum into the match. The club is riding a six-game undefeated streak. Valencia played on Saturday, beating Atletico Madrid 2-1, improving the team to 5-1-0 in its last six games. Spaniard Joaquin scored twice to lead the come-from-behind victory. He scored the tying goal just before halftime, then provided more heroics with the game-winner in the 86th minute.
Valencia finished second in Group C, trailing Manchester United by three points. The team finished 3-2-1 but posted a brilliant plus-11 goal differential. Valencia led the group with a whopping 15 goals. It was excellent defensively as well, finishing second to Man U with just four goals allowed through six group games.
Schalke 04 has just one loss in its last five games, a 1-0 loss to Hoffenheim on Jan. 29. The club is 3-1-1 in that span, including a 1-0 victory over SC Freiburg on Saturday. The team has done a great job keeping the ball out of the net — allowing just one goal in the past three games, including back-to-back shutouts — but it has to find more offense. Schalke has scored just once in its past three outings.
Schalke came out on top of Group B, edging Olympique Lyon by three points. The club finished with a 4-1-1 record in group play thanks to a strong defensive effort; Schalke paced Group B with just three goals allowed (Olympique Lyon and Hapoel Tel Aviv tied for second with 10 goals allowed). A little more offense would be nice, but Schalke was still solid with 10 goals scored in six group play games.

AC Milan is a -160 favorite in this last-16 clash. The team has been pretty dominant for about two months now. Milan hasn’t lost since Dec. 18, when it fell 1-0 to AS Roma. Since then, the team is 7-4-0. Its most recent outing was a wild one, a 4-0 romp over Parma.
Milan finished second in Group G behind Real Madrid, going 2-2-2. There was a major shortage of scoring, as the team managed just seven goals in six games. At least AC Milan played well in its own end, giving up just seven goals.
Tottenham is a +425 underdog. After closing out January with a disappointing run, the club has finally picked up some momentum. Hotspur settled for a loss and two draws during its final three games in January, but it is 3-0 in February. Tottenham is coming off a 2-1 victory over Sunderland last week, the third consecutive victory by a single goal.
Tottenham led Champions League Group A with three wins, two draws and a pair of losses. The team has racked up a pile of goals during Champions League play, leading the group with 18 through six games. Defensively, the club hasn’t necessarily been top notch, allowing 11 goals during group play.
Injuries will be a factor for Tottenham. Hotspur will once again be without midfielder Gareth Bale; the Welshman is suffering from a back injury. He’s missed Tottenham’s past four games and, though he’s close to returning, it won’t be against AC Milan.

Sure, Real Madrid has the bigger names and pedigree, so it makes sense on one level for oddsmakers to have it as a -130 favorite over Lyon (+350), with odds for the draw listed at +250. But do those odds go out the window when you consider Lyon owns the all-time history between these two squads?
Last year, at this same juncture of the Champions League, Lyon knocked out Real Madrid. In fact, Real Madrid has never beaten Lyon. Time and time again, the Ligue 1 juggernaut has ended Real Madrid’s Champions League hopes.
Manuel Pellegrini couldn’t take Real Madrid past Lyon last year. Will Jose Mourinho get it done this time around? He has been working hard to prepare his squad for its road trip to Lyon. He rested several key players for Real Madrid’s recent matchup against Levante and says he’s been studying Lyon for quite some time.
Real Madrid’s defense is supposedly better than it was the last time it locked horns with Lyon. But can it stop Yoann Gourcuff? The French star has been a stellar offensive playmaker for Lyon this season. He could be the key to Lyon vs. Real Madrid. Iker Casillas should give Real Madrid a lift for Tuesday’s game; he missed the Levante match due to a suspension but is set to return.

Naturally, the Danish league team is the underdog, even with the match happening at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Kobenhavn has +450 odds to win; Chelsea is the favorite at -150; and the odds are +250 for a draw.
Copenhagen doesn’t exactly enter this Round of 16 battle with a ton of momentum; the Danish league is off until March for its winter break. Then again, while a layoff could mean rustiness, it will also mean the roster should be extra fresh and rested.
Copenhagen has been an absolute monster in its own league, winning 16 of 19 games, drawing three times and opening up a 19-point lead over the competition. Chelsea will have to take this team seriously; FC Copenhagen is the first Danish team to make the Round of 16 in the Champions League era and even posted a 1-1 draw against Barcelona to get there.
What on Earth is wrong with Chelsea this year? The Premiership has been a nightmare for the Blues this season. Nothing seems to fix their troubles – not even breaking the bank for Fernando Torres and David Luiz. Still, Chelsea has been a force in the Champions League, taking five of its six games to win Group F. It tallied a very respectable 14 goals over that period.
Could the Champions League Soccer Betting decision for Kobenhavn vs. Chelsea come down to Torres’ play? Chelsea desperately needs a deep run to distract from its failures in English soccer this year and Torres needs to justify all the money the Blues have shelled out for him.

Manchester United hasn’t done much damage away from home this season but still has a shot to pull off the “upset” against Chelsea. Man U has been the Barclays Premier League’s top team this year and has a cushy 15-point lead over Chelsea.
Man U, currently holding off second-place Arsenal by four points, has solid momentum in English Premier League Soccer Betting at the moment after winning 4-0 at Wigan in its last match. Though Wayne Rooney still looks off at times, the Red Devils have enjoyed great efforts from Chris Smalling and Chicharito of late.
It’s been a strange season for Chelsea, which hasn’t had much success in the Premier League but came up with an encouraging win in Champions League play against Copenhagen last week. Fernando Torres continues to puzzle both Chelsea fans and soccer bettors alike, raising questions about how he and Didier Drogba can fit into the same attack. It’s Nicolas Anelka, not Torres, who has dazzled of late. He was the hero against Copenhagen.
With the two powerhouses always getting up to play each other, some soccer betting fans may opt for the draw at the sportsbook. But only three of the last 10 Chelsea vs. Manchester United matches have ended in a draw. Both teams take chances and play to win against each other, so picking an outright winner may be the best choice.

Arsenal won the first leg of this Last 16 match, topping Barca 2-1 at home. It was a miraculous comeback; Barcelona led 1-0 until the 78th minute, when Robin van Persie scored to tie the game. Just five minutes later, substitute Andrei Arshavin scored to give Arsenal the surprising victory. It was Arsenal’s first victory over the Catalan club
Arsenal finished second behind Shakhtar Donetsk in Group H, going 4-0-2. The Premier League club was goal crazy, racking up 18 tallies during group play. Arsenal allowed just seven goals at the other end of the pitch. High-scoring games are nothing new to Arsenal, which sits second in the Premier standings in points and goals (57 in 28 games). The club hasn’t played particularly well since defeating Barca, though; after tying Sunderland nil-nil on Saturday, Arsenal is 2-2-1 in its past five games.
FC Barcelona arrived in the Last 16 after winning Group D. Barca went undefeated, going 4-2-0 while scoring 14 goals. The club especially stood out defensively, allowing just three goals in those six matches. FC Barcelona has been just as sharp during league play. The team sits in first place in La Liga after allowing just 13 goals in 27 games. Of course, when it really counted, Barcelona was burned for three goals against Arsenal. That was Barca’s lone loss in the past 11 games. The team is 10-1-0 in that span, including five straight victories and a 1-0 win over Real Zaragoza on Saturday.

Shakhtar Donetsk won the first leg of this battle back on Feb. 16. The Ukrainian club earned an impressive 3-2 road victory over AS Roma. All three goals came in the first half, compliments of the Brazilian trio of Jadson, Douglas Costa and Luiz Adriana. Roma made a late push in the second half, but it wasn’t enough. The victory was even more impressive as Shakhtar hadn’t played a competitive match in over 70 days; despite a sluggish start in the opening minutes, the team came through with a win.
Shakhtar got here after cruising through group play and is carrying all the momentum into this match. The club went 5-0-1 to win Group H, scoring a dozen goals and limiting its opponents to just six. The Ukrainian squad is coming off a 1-0 victory over Sevastopol last week, the team’s 11th consecutive victory. Though playing in the Ukrainian Premier League may not have the same luster as some of the other leagues, Shakhtar Donetsk boasts wins over Roma and Arsenal over that span. This team is for real.
AS Roma, on the other hand, was rather unimpressive in group play. The club finished second in Group E after going 3-1-2. Scoring was in short supply, as Roma managed just 10 goals in that span (it allowed 11 for a minus-1 goal differential). The team ranks just sixth in the Serie A standings and has been victimized countless times in its own end; of the top 17 teams in the league, AS Roma has allowed more goals than all but one.

The clubs settled for a 1-1 draw in the first leg of this Champions League battle. Roberto Soldado got the scoring started for Valencia, scoring a goal in the first half after taking a nice cross from Jeremy Mathieu in the 17th minute. Schalke battled through, however, and got a brilliant goal from Raul in the 64th minute. It was an historic goal, as Raul passed Filippo Inzaghi to have more goals in top-level European competition than anyone else (it was his 71st).
Schalke won Champions League Group B by going 4-1-1. The club didn’t display much offense, scoring just 10 times, but it did play lockdown defense in its own end—Schalke allowed just three goals in six Champions League games. That’s not terribly surprising, as Schalke has allowed the second fewest goals of any team in Bundesliga. The club could certainly afford some offense, though, as it has managed just 29 goals in 25 German league games. Schalke stumbled in its last outing, losing 1-0 to VfB Stuttgart.
Valencia finished second in Group C behind Manchester United. The team went 3-2-1, racking up 15 goals while surrendering just four. In fact, Valencia had a much better goal differential than Man U (plus-11 compared to plus-6). Valencia ranks third in the La Liga standings and has been solid at both ends of the pitch. The club is coming off a 2-1 win over RCD Mallorca, its third consecutive victory.

Bayern Munchen took a slight lead in the first leg of this Last-16 battle, winning 1-0. Mario Gomez was the hero after scoring in the final minute to break the draw.
Bayern Munchen mostly cruised through Champions League group play, finishing first in Group E after racking up a 5-0-1 record. Munchen scored 16 goals in that round while surrendering six. The team ranks fourth in Bundesliga play, though it trails first-place Borussia Dortmund by a significant margin. The club is 13-6-7 in Bundesliga, having scored 57 goals in 26 games — tops in the league — while allowing 33 (the team is second in the league with a plus-24 goal differential).
Munchen recently endured a brutal stretch, losing three consecutive games — 3-1 to Dortmund, 1-0 to Schalke 04, and 3-1 to Hannover 96. The team finally got its act together on Saturday, pounding Hamburger SV 6-0.
Internazionale placed second in Champions League Group A after going 3-1-2. While the team had great success scoring — it racked up a dozen goals in group play — it couldn’t keep the ball out of its own net, giving up 11 goals along the way. The team is currently second in Serie A with a 17-6-6 record. Inter scores a ton and has 55 goals in 29 games. It has given up 32 goals, though, the worst number among the top five teams in Serie A.
Like Bayern Munchen, Internazionale doesn’t have a ton of momentum heading into this match. It settled for a 1-1 draw with Brescia on Friday, though it did pound Genoa 5-2 in the game before that.

United and Marseille battled to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League Last-16 clash when they met on February 23. There were very few scoring chances as both teams defended spectacularly.
Man U reached the final 16 after winning Group C. The club went undefeated at 4-2-0 during that round, racking up seven goals while allowing just a single goal. It’s not surprising at all considering how well Manchester United has played during the Premier League season; the team sits first in the standings with a 17-9-3 record, having racked up 63 goals in 29 matches while surrendering just 30.
The team has hit a bit of a rough patch, though, and won’t carry a ton of momentum into the game vs. Marseille. United beat Arsenal 2-0 on Saturday, but it had lost its previous two games, falling 2-1 to Chelsea and 3-1 to Liverpool. To make matters worse, winger Nani was injured against Liverpool and won’t be available this week.
Olympique Marseille finished second in Champions League Group F after going 4-0-2. Marseille posted a great goal differential after racking up a dozen goals in those six games, while allowing just three. Marseille sits fourth in Ligue 1 play, just four points back of first place. The club is 13-9-5 in league play with 39 goals and 23 goals allowed, tying it for the best goal differential in the league.
Marseille is coming off a 2-0 victory over Rennes. The team has just one loss in its last nine games, going 6-2-1 in that span (it fell 2-1 to Lille OSC in Ligue 1 play).
