The new feature helps poker players remember exactly which cards they tossed away so that they can better follow along with hands that they’re no longer a part of and improve their game over time.....

The best online tournament series just keeps getting better.

In August of 2006, FTOPS I debuted with eight events and a combined guaranteed prize pool of more than $1 million. We’ve come a long way, as FTOPS IX awarded more than $15 million in prize money over 25 events this past August. Starting in November, FTOPS X will deliver the goods all over again.

The dates and times of the events are available at Full Tilt Poker’s website, as well as a list of satellites to the event starting from as little as $1.

On Tuesday, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker announced that they had completed their transition to the CEREUS Poker Network, offering online poker players a host of new features and promising bigger tournaments, hotter promotions, and higher Bad Beat Jackpots.

Thanks to a significantly expanded player base, the Bad Beat Jackpot at both sites has already soared to over $700,000. With more players seated at more tables hoping to cash in on their next big losing hand, that number could hit well over $1,000,000 by this weekend.

(When an online poker player loses a hand with four 8s or anything better, 65% of the jackpot is divided among Bad Beat Jackpot players (25% remains in the pot for the next jackpot and 10% is dedicated towards administrative fees). All players seated at a Bad Beat Jackpot table featuring the same limit and game type as where the bad beat occurred also win a piece of the jackpot.)

The CEREUS poker network today announced a series of new features and tweaks that will be immediately available to players on both Absolute Poker and UltimateBet.

The new features:

Game Speed Increase - The speed of the game, including the dealing of the hand and the final hand result, has been significantly increased.

Buddy Max Limit - The previous cap of 500 players on both UltimateBuddy and Absolute Buddy has been quadrupled to 2000.

Heads Up Kick Off Limit - A new 5-minute rule has been applied to the 'Sit Out' function of heads-up matches (ring games only) to provide a more enjoyable experience for poker fans.

Disable Enter to Bet - Players can now disable the 'Enter to Bet' function to avoid accidentally betting while switching between programs.

Remember Login - If a player successfully logs in but does not use the 'Remember Password' feature, the software will remember the last successful login name.

Disable Blackjack on Table - Players will now be able to disable blackjack from individual tables instead of just disabling it globally.

The new poker platform is backed by leading technology and a 24/7 Security Center to deliver a watertight gaming experience for everyone at the tables.

A complete rundown of CEREUS and the new features immediately available to all players through the expanded poker network can be found at absolute poker and ultimate bet

Everyone loves a good Happy Hour. Especially when you can be earning double or even triple Full Tilt Points by playing in your favorite ring games and tournaments.

Look for daily Happy Hours and head to our specially designated tables to begin earning your Full Tilt Points two to three times faster than usual. Your bonus points will automatically appear in your account so all you have to worry about is how to spend them.

You'll know which tables are offering double or triple points by looking for the smiley face in the "Players" column of the Full Tilt Poker lobby, as indicated in the image below. Playing at these tables will earn you double or triple the amount of Full Tilt Points you'd normally earn.

Check the schedule and keep an eye open for the smiley faces in the Full Tilt Poker lobby to find qualifying Happy Hour tables.

Welcome: Full Tilt Poker (bonus code ixgames600)

The Triple Christmas Happy Hour. Players can rack up triple the amount of Full Tilt Poker points when they play during regular Happy Hours - marked by smiley faces - until January 1st 2009.

So recently I got 16th in one of those 50 dollar freeroll tournaments they run and I received 52 cents for my efforts. When I went to see how much the cheapest Sit n Go was I saw that I need 60 cents. I currently have no way to get any money onto my account and being 8 cents short is extremely frustrating. I was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to send me 8 whole cents😁. It would be much appreciated and would be payed back as soon as I got some money from the Sit n Go. Thanks!

Dear XPOKERCHIC,

You finished the tournament in 2nd place.

In the money is pretty meaningless unless u hit top 5 imho. If you want to improve, you need to learn when to resteal, when to shove, the independent chip model, and fold equity. The positions your getting are all before the decent prizepools. alot of the worse players are busto by then, and your gonna be playing with people who have an advantage because they know at least some of this stuff! heres some info below. google is also your friend, and you can probs find more on this bulletin board, hopefully.

Knowing when to shove is one of the most important things. Daniel Harrington explains it very well in his book Harrington on Hold'em. He talks about using "M" as a yardstick to decide whether you should shove or fold.

M = Bigblind + small bling + antes/ your stack.
eg if blinds are 100/200 ante 50, and your stack is 4k then

M= 4,000/350. = 11.

for example with an M of over 50 you are in the 'green zone' and have the maximum flexibility in your play (lots of chips for post flop poker) while with an M of less than 5 you are in the 'red zone' and should be looking to push all in at any reasonable opportunity ( although personally i start looking for a decent hand to do it with when I have an M of around 7 or 8.) Each zone has its own strategic changes and inflection points can be thought of as the transitions between these zones.

Calculation of M assumes a full table of 9 or 10 players - for short handed play Harrington suggests using 'effective M' which is simply your current M divided by the ratio of remaining players to a full table... in the 3000 chip example with 200/100 blinds if there were only 5 players your M would be only 5 - since 50% of the players are now gone.

M is a nice yard stick for when you should be stealing more aswell, but the biggest influences are probably, the amount of dead money in the pot, if theres a possibility the opponent will fold, and if you can put them all in and have a stack remaining.

hope this helps.
