Single Table Tournaments (Sit & Go's)
Single Table Tournaments (STTs), also known as Sit & Go's, usually feature 10 players (although 9 seat, 5 seat and 2 player – Heads-Up – tournaments are also available) and start as soon as the table is full; Sit & Go's have no specified start time. All players start with the same number of chips, usually 1,500, with the blinds starting at a low level (5/10 or 10/20) and increasing at pre-set time intervals. Play continues until one player has all the chips, with the players ranked in the reverse order of elimination. The typical pay structure for a ten player tournament is 50% of the prize pool for first place, 30% for second place and 20% for third place.
p.s. good luck
The second and more popular type of tournaments are Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs). These tournaments consist, as the name suggests, of more than one table with players at numerous tables competing for one another's chips as the blinds and/or antes increase incrementally. Antes are brought into play in the later levels to force players to act resulting in a final table and eventual tournament winner.
As players are eliminated, tables are “broken”, meaning players are re-assigned to keep tables full, or even with one another. Eventually, the last few surviving players with chips are assigned to the final table, where the eventual winner is the individual who wins all the chips from his or her opponents. Cash prizes are awarded to the top finishers based on the number of tournament entrants. As with STTS, the blinds increase on pre-set intervals, usually once every 10 or 15 minutes. Note that there is no maximum number of entrants for a multi-table tournament unless stipulated.
Counting cards in poker for example was and still is a big no-no in the casinos, so how do they get around that online? Surely they cannot stop people keeping a check or do they play with dozens of decks mixed?

Disney meets poker. Full Tilt Poker offer one of the strangest poker room graphics to date. It is a 3D style environment mixed with cartoonish avatars, ranging from Yoda figures to black baseball players. If you grow tired of the background, you can also switch to something else, such as a space theme. In addition, you can view the last hand and save it if you wish.
Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Phil Gordon and Erik Siedel. Every single one of them endorse Full Tilt Poker....!!
Watch out, the competition at Full Tilt is tough and if you are (un)lucky, you might face Phil Ivey without even knowing it.
Welcome to: Full Tilt Poker
Who would you say was a good role model for someone wanting to take up poker to study and learn from? A few names sprung to my attention when I went looking. So far Phil Ivey seems to be the best choice, anyone disagree?
Do any of your relations take part in a gambling activity? My kids are a bit young yet but they all seem pretty competetive. My wife though is quite anti-gambling. The most she wuill do is place a few rounds on the lottery!
The winner will receive a $25,000 Poker After Dark prize package, which includes the $20,000 tournament buy-in, $5,000 in spending money, and the chance to win the $120,000 prize pool.
Full Tilt players can qualify for free by entering one of the daily sit-and-go tournaments that will automatically enter the top two finishers into one of the two weekly round 2 tournaments at 10 p.m. Tuesdays or 3 p.m. Sundays. The top nine finishers will play in the main poker tournament on April 30 at 9:30 p.m.
Players who have accumulated Full Tilt Player points can also buy into the round 2 tourney with 100 Full Tilt Poker points, play an 18-man, 600 point buy-in sit-and-go in which only one winner advances, or buy directly into the event for 10,000 points.
Full Tilt Player points are awarded in cash games and tournament play. For every dollar up to three that is raked in a given cash game hand, a point is given. In tournaments and sit-and-gos, seven points are awarded for every dollar paid in entry fees, with no maximum.
Qualifying will run until April 30 at Full Tilt Poker
:thumbsup GOOD LUCK
Sport meets Sport.
So richtig wirklich.
