So not only did we get some live broadcast like before but now there was a whole film crew covering the event...

I would like to share this with everyone
Coming in September
This auction is for the very first Octagammon set that will go on sale. The first 10 will be sold on e-bay. This auction is for number #1 only. When all games are ready I will offer the next nine in separate auctions one auction each game. They will be rare collector items in the years to come. They will come with certified letter of authenticity. Just think if you had the very first Backgammon game, or sorry or one of the many other very successful sequels that have been sold.

Anyone who has played Backgammon can play this game. It is more challenging, exciting, has higher stakes, more moves, and takes a completely different strategy to win yet it is almost the same game in many ways.
Anyone one who just looks at it that knows how to play Backgammon will know how to play.
If you are a Backgammon player this is a must to have. When you play it you will be amazed at the higher level of play and stakes.

You may contact me on e-bay. If you know Backgammon players, let them know this is a very rare chance to buy the very first one on the market.

The games will be finished in September I want to give as much advanced notice as possible. Again I say this is the very first game on the market and will come with letter of authenticity. This is the only sequel to Backgammon ever made in 2000 years. It is a perfect extension of Backgammon.
Contact me with your questions.

The world’s largest online backgammon site, Play65-com has united online lovers Liz Dubinovsky and Avi Maman via its gaming community.

The Israeli couple met online while playing backgammon on Play65 in January 2011. Romance quickly blossomed and after overcoming a few hiccups, Maman’s proposal was accepted and the couple wed on August 30, 2011.

“We don’t believe in dating sites, and no one can believe that we met in a game room. But there are some miracles in life that don’t need believing to come true,” said a very excited Liz Dubinovsky. Play65 is the world’s largest online backgammon community connecting thousands of backgammon players internationally. The site offers two gameplay options for players to choose from. The virtual play option allows the player to compete instantly using their browser. This requires no download and players can participate for free.

For the more serious-minded backgammon players, Play65 offers a free backgammon download client which players can use to compete for money and prizes as well as participate in tournaments. This is a popular option for experienced players looking to make money online and the site offers a 100% bonus on the first deposit.

Frequent players on Play65 become part of the VIP club and are rewarded with extra points, bonuses and even monetary gifts. The site prides itself on creating a social and fun environment for all backgammon participants – even allowing players to play against friends they choose.

“All of us at Play65 are very happy for Liz and Avi. We work hard to create a social and friendly atmosphere for backgammon players on Play65 and this beautiful couple’s success story is a testament to that. It is proof of our promise that on Play65 you play real people you can interact with, not bots,” said Jonathan Carmel, Product Manager of Play65.

Backgammon pros and beginners alike are welcome on Play65, with the site even offering a comprehensive How To Play Backgammon guide covering basics like backgammon rules and other topics of interest such as backgammon history, strategy and even an analysis of whether luck plays a role while gambling.

For online gamblers concerned about security, Play65 works hard to take the worry out of online backgammon. The company ensures a high level of security on all transactions, the dice used in games, and all personal information provided by players. All credit card information is secured by SSL encryption – the same technology used by all major banks for secure data transmissions.

Soon after the Occupy Wall Street protesters built an encampment in the financial district in mid-September, organizers looking for a less conspicuous place to gather began holding certain meetings inside a public atrium at 60 Wall Street.

The spacious enclosure, just east of Hanover Street, is on the ground floor of the North American headquarters of Deutsche Bank — recipient of billions in the A.I.G. bailout, as some people have pointed out — and includes a concourse that can be entered from Wall Street and Pine Street. Plastic chairs and tables are scattered inside the atrium near rows of tall palm trees and several shops selling food and magazines.

Organizers and protesters frequently made placards announcing the name of various committees assembling there and displayed them on tables and chairs.

Sometime in November, though, new signs went up in the atrium listing several rules including “no loitering,” “no excessive use of space” and “signs and posters are not allowed.” Protesters said that private security guards and police officers began enforcing those rules and others.

On Wednesday, the civil liberties lawyer Norman Siegel and Herbert Teitelbaum, a former executive director of the New York State Commission on Public Integrity, faxed a letter to the bank and to the Police Department asking about the rule prohibiting signs.

“We submit that the new rule violates the First Amendment,” the two wrote, adding, “Implementing the rule at this time raises the concern that it is discriminatory toward those who support and participate in O.W.S. activities.”

The letter went on to ask whether the police had enforced the rule against signs and whether Deutsche Bank had asked them to do so.

Duncan King, a spokesman for Deutsche Bank said that the rule prohibiting signs was not aimed at the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

“The rule is aimed at preventing items from being affixed to our property and potentially damaging the atrium,” he said, adding: “The atrium rules are intended to ensure equal access and enjoyment by all guests and to maintain their safety.”

A Police Department spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

Like Zuccotti Park, the Occupy Wall Street stronghold for two months before it was cleared by the police in mid-November, the atrium at 60 Wall Street is a privately owned public space established under city regulations. About 500 such hybrids exist in New York City, created and maintained by developers for public use, in exchange for additional floor area or other zoning concessions.

Inside the atrium on Thursday afternoon there were people playing chess and backgammon. There were men and women in suits sipping coffee. And at the southern end of the atrium there were at least two Occupy Wall Street assemblages, including a meeting with dozens of participants.

Among the protesters were several who said that security guards and police officers had told them not to display signs.

Tashy Endres, 29, from Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, said that she had recently held aloft a notebook upon which she had written the words “media workshop.”

“The guards came up and said you can’t have that because it’s a sign and you’re trying to convey a message,” she said.

As a result, Stefan Fink, 22, from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, said, some protesters had taken to taping pieces of paper with the names of their working groups to their shirts or jackets.

“We have to resort to some pretty silly solutions, because we’re dealing with a silly situation,” he said.

Other protesters said that the public bathroom in the atrium was frequently closed to the public and added that guards sometimes dimmed the lights an hour or two before the posted closing time of 10 p.m. Anyone who sat on the floor was likely to receive a quick reprimand, they said, and groups of people standing and talking in the center of the atrium were often told to move to one side.

“It seems like they are working on all levels to make this place as inhospitable as possible,” said Emma McCumber, 23, from Reading, Vt.

Police officers stood in the atrium on Thursday, and several security guards dressed in dark blue paced near the Occupy Wall Street meetings. Those guards, however, did not seek to enforce one of the posted rules being flouted by protesters, which forbade rearrangement of tables and chairs.

Mr. Siegel said on Thursday evening that he had not yet heard back from the bank or the Police Department.

“I’m hoping we can amicably resolve these issues,” he said. “Now it’s up to them to respond to our objections and questions.”

Backgammon is a board game that is perfectly suited to iOS devices. The shape of the board fits the iPhone and iPad, and the gameplay—rolling dice and moving pieces—is greatly simplified when you tap to perform these tasks. Over the past few months, I’ve tried out a number of backgammon apps, and two stand out: Backgammon NJ (available for the iPad in a separate version called Backgammon NJ HD), and FaceMe Backgammon.

Backgammon is the game for mobile devices.

I am wondering when will someone bring the mobile gaming revolution to online backgammon.

PokerStars has already made the big move by offering PokerStars Mobile which is great for playing for real money. When will this happen for backgammon?

Play65 has been around for a long while now and although it was announced that it will be closing doors on its real money gambling and offering “free play” its refreshing to know that loyal players of the site will not be taken advantage of.

As one of the largest online backgammon communities on the web today, with thousands of players internationally, the InterLogic owned site is has begun to pay the balances owed to their players.

An AGCC spokesperson confirmed: “We are supervising the orderly closure of the play65-com egambling site following our normal procedures. Although the process may take a little time to complete, we have no reason to believe that any player will remain unpaid.”

Reports are not clear as to why the popular backgammon site is choosing to close down it real money gambling operations but speculation states that competition with Game Accounts relaunch of their real money backgammon site and difficulties finding payment processors may be the reasons.

Manne can I see when this AGCC spokesperson told it. As far as I know and have been informed Play65 could not be reached anymore. They still owe money to same partner affiliates (I know this for sure, cannot disclose more) and I believe it is the same with some players that were unaware of that deadline - 10th of September 2012 - the end term for requesting a withdraw.

This is an ode to a Finger Lakes cottage.

I have been blessed to enjoy two while growing up, both on the eastern branch of Keuka Lake. A recent work assignment sent me driving down East Bluff Drive — and memory lane. Once my interview was over I drove further south down the road in search of our family’s first cottage.

Just like the childhood sledding hill that is a mountain to a child’s eyes but barely an incline to an adult’s, the cottage seemed so much smaller.

My parents bought this little cottage in the late 1970s, when my youngest sister was a toddler. Although my family has a healthy dose of wanderlust and likes to travel, my parents were unsure if that would be possible given their youngest was born with Down syndrome.

They went in with another couple on the property — side-by-side cottages across the street from the lake, with a path down to the water. Their children were the same age as us so we had ready-made playmates.

The cottage was small — a great room with a kitchen, living area and Franklin stove where many evenings we would sit in front of it eating homemade caramel popcorn. Just two bedrooms. The front porch had a picnic table and it was there we ate, played, relaxed and chased bats out of rafters.

Years later, as both we and my parents’ bank account grew, they bought a bigger lakeside cottage closer to the bluff.

But it is this small cottage where indelible memories were made, memories that overwhelmed me with emotion after I snapped a photo and started the drive back home. They were tears of joy, mostly, but wistful and bittersweet at the same time. I think of the memories my children will have when they are my age, and only hope they will feel as I do. But, I am not so sure.

Sure, they have parents who love them, but we grew up in a time when my mother could take us to the lake and set us free.

We scampered up creekbeds, picking black raspberries and sweet peas as we climbed. We had day- — or maybe weeklong — marathon games of backgammon on the shale beach. We caught fireflies and put them in jars next to our beds. We dug for worms with flashlights and sold them as bait.
