He’s the Oscar-nominated actor who made the grand announcement on the Late Show with David Letterman that he was quitting his career as an actor to pursue his newfound passion for hip-hop music. Is it now MC J or Daddy J? No one really knows what’s going on with Phoenix except maybe Casey Affleck, the director of the documentary I’m Still Here, which takes audiences on a very graphic journey of the lost year of Joaquin Phoenix.
After Phoenix’s sloppy appearance on Letterman, many thought the respected actor was having some kind of breakdown or just got a hold of a really good stash but we can all see now that his intentions where a lot more brilliant than we expected. His latest project, directed by his brother-in-law, Casey Affleck is some sort of documentary or mockumentary about the one year where Phoenix’s new persona decides to take a year off to take the next step in his career as a rap artist.
There have been rumors that the actor has actually admitted that the whole year he spent fumbling around night clubs and talk shows was actually a hoax and his true motivation was to help promote I’m Still Here which probably makes more sense. The documentary has been picked up by Magnolia Pictures, who is set to release the film on the 10th of September and according to Magnolia President, Eamonn Bowles:
"It is going to get a lot of attention, but it is not some cheap stunt where they said, 'Let's do some wild stuff and film it,' " he explained. "It is extreme behavior, but really good filmmaking as well. Frankly, some of the behavior is very extreme. But it is in the context of the insanity of being in Joaquin's life for that period of time. It is a unique piece of work that is going to surprise people in different ways."

With the recent announcement of Jesse James and Sandra Bullock deciding to move on with their lives, it has given Sandra some time to reflect and spend time with her son Louis and Jesse a license to start dating again. The news is out that LA ink star, Kat von D and Jesse are officially dating after her tweet announced the beginning of their relationship.
It’s clear that Jesse has a thing for girls with tattoos which started with his ex-wife and trickled down to the woman who broke up his marriage, Janine Lindemulder, and now Von D. So where did Sandra Bullock fit into his string of tattooed gals? I suppose he was looking to stray from the norm for a while but anyway, we’re just glad to see he’s back in his comfort zone.
It had been rumored that the two were dating since they were spotted in Vegas having dinner and holding hands but the rumor was later confirmed when Kat outed the couple through a Tweet message she later deleted saying, “Yes, Jesse and I are dating.” Well you know how anything that is posted on the Net never dies so before you know it her little message spread like wildfire.
According to PopEater, a friend of Kat’s attested to the fact that “she is totally into him” and that “Jesse just has this way with women that makes you melt. Plus, Kat feels bad for him. He’s the most hated man in America, after what he did to Sandra, which she finds kind of sexy.”
So sounds like Kat is keen on being Jesse’s rebound girl while Jesse is settling in to his new home in Austin, Texas to be close to his kids and Sandra.

I know that many of you have lost sleep wondering what will become of Lindsay Lohan once she’s out of jail and rehab and well, you’ll be happy to know that Lindsay was released from rehab yesterday but she’s not out of the woods just yet and from the looks of it – it will be a tough road ahead. Judge Fox, who has been overseeing her case, put her under strict orders forcing her to remain under further treatment including psychotherapy and a 12-step program until November 1, 2010.
It seems that Judge Fox does not play around and upon her release from the UCLA treatment center, she has been ordered to:
*Receive psychotherapy four times a week.
* Meet 7 days a week with a mentor.
*Behavioral therapy 4 times a week.
*5 weekly visits to 12-step programs.
*Random drug testing twice a week.
Ouch! Well, it looks like she won’t have a lot of free time to do much else but to work toward her sobriety and sorting out her life. She will have to be on her best behavior up until November 1st but if she breaks any of these rules she will have to serve 30 days in jail. Oh! and one last condition – she is not allowed to leave the state of California until she follows through with the treatment.
According to Access Hollywood, Lohan’s lawyer told reporters that “she is very serious about her sobriety and that she looks forward to proving to the court that she is serious.”
Can Lindsay stick see her treatment through for another month or so? Well if she doesn’t we hope she’s at least made friends back in jail.

Paris Hilton has been a bad girl, again
Remember when Paris Hilton was released from jail back in 2007 and vowed she would change her superficial ways? Well, not much has changed for the hard-partying heiress, who was arrested late Friday after a police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend Cy Waits on the Las Vegas Strip, then found cocaine in her purse.
Apparently, during the arrest of Waits, who was being arrested for DUI, Hilton asked to go inside the Wynn hotel to avoid onlookers. Hilton then pulled lip balm from her purse and police say, "a bindle of cocaine in a plastic bag came out of her purse." Another officer characterized it as a "small amount."
Hilton hired celebrity lawyer Davide Chesnoff, who got her out of jail hours after her arrest without having to post bail.
Chesnoff released this statement: "Paris Hilton was released this morning on her own recognizance. This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law. There will be no interviews and no more comments at this time."
TMZ is reporting that Hilton and her lawyer may use the defence that the purse, and the cocaine, weren't hers.

The word is out that late night television host, Jimmy Fallon, was well received by his fellow Hollywood cohorts even though the show received lower viewership than last year’s show hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. The night was full of Glee-like moments including a hilarious opening musical number, comedic skits and a few surprise wins including HBO’s Temple Grandin who won 5 Emmys and AMC’s Breaking Bad who won 2 Emmy’s.
Overall, the show was a success and Jimmy seemed to pull it off successfully with his witty skits including his own personal rendition of Elton John’s song, Candle in the Wind, which poked fun at end of Kiefer Sutherland’s show, 24, leaving the airwaves.
This year’s show was a hit because the sense of humor was sharper than in past years where we find the presenters spew out some of the corniest humor that makes you wonder who’s writing the stuff. This year, Fallon’s witty antics kept its audience giggling and laughing throughout the evening without dragging on the show for hours on end.
Another highlight of the evening was the appearance of British comedian, Ricky Gervais, who couldn’t let the night pass without roasting Mel Gibson. While he was complaining about the lack of alcohol in the venue he segued into Mel Gibson’s latest drama and explaining how he wouldn’t be giving him a hard time because “he’s been through a lot…..but not as much as the Jews.” His joke was followed by waiters passing out beer to the audience which Ricky felt was lacking.
The top winners for the evening included: Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) Best Leading Actress, Jane Lynch (Glee) Best Supporting Actress, Lead Actor, Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Best Supporting Actor, Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Al Pacino, Lead Actor Miniseries/Movie (You Don’t Know Jack), Mad Men, Best Drama , Modern Family Best Comedy, Temple Grandin, Best Made for TV Movie, Claire Danes, Lead Actress Miniseries/Movie (Temple Grandin), The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Best Comedy Special, and the two Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul who walked away with Best Supporting Actor and Lead Actor in a drama.
Overall it was a great with many memorable moments, kudos to Jimmy Fallon who managed to pull it off. Congratulations to all of the Emmy winners for 2010.
