The Taunton City Council approved the intergovernmental agreement between the city and the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe, which is proposing to build a $500 million tribal casino in East Taunton.

Sydney's Star Casino has been ordered to explain why it didn't immediately tell the NSW gaming authority that it had sacked former managing director Sid Vaikunta.
The Liquor and Gaming Authority issued the casino a show cause' notice on Monday and told it to explain why it shouldn't be punished over the alleged delay.
The authority says the casino may have breached the Casino Control Act 1992, which requires casino operators to promptly report major changes, including significant staff movements.
Mr Vaikunta was suspended on December 19 after allegations he sexually harassed a female member of staff, who has also since left the casino.
Mr Vaikunta has denied the allegation.
But NSW's gaming authority said the casino did not inform it of the decision within the required three days.
The casino also allegedly failed to promptly inform the authority about sacking Mr Vaikunta in February.
The Star has been given until June 21 to explain the alleged delays.
A recent inquiry conducted by Gail Furness SC cleared The Star of any wrongdoing over its investigation into the sexual harassment allegation levelled at Mr Vaikunta.

Shuffle Master said Monday it grew its company profits by 23 percent, despite expenses incurred through the purchase of a European online gaming company.
