Qualification. Tough surface. A meeting between 37-year-old veteran from Italy, Errani, and 17-year-old Russian, Korneeva. Errani still looks strong and is the 4th seed in this qualification round, and is an elite doubles player with a world ranking of 9. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for her to compete in singles, especially against the young and very talented Korneeva. She dominated in junior competitions (101 wins and only 14 losses) and has also performed well in women's tournaments, winning several of them. Despite playing in only 9 tournaments, she is currently ranked 177th in the WTA, although her abilities suggest that she should be ranked much higher. Also, Korneeva has already passed the Australian Open qualification. Errani may have more experience, but I believe that it will be Korneeva's energy and talent that will prevail.
