Olympics. Women's basketball. Semi-finals. France against Belgium. We are betting with a Belgian plus handicap.
France had an easy group, confidently defeating their first two opponents and surprisingly losing to Australians. They seemed to have a secure victory against Germany, but now they face the Belgians, who for some reason are not highly valued here. Yes, the Belgians had a tough start to the Olympics with a loss to the Germans, but then they looked solid against the USA and completely defeated Japan. They also confidently won against Spain in the quarter-finals, and now they face the host team.
The odds should be at least even, but giving a 5.5 handicap seems disrespectful. Also, a year ago these teams met in the semi-finals of the European championship, where the Belgians celebrated victory. We are betting on the Belgians with both the handicap and a closer game against Peru. Good luck.
