Let's talk about players :
Evgeny Donskoy - Promising and hard working player from Russia, who have even beaten Roger Federer few times. Evgeny likes hard surface tournaments, especially this one, he reached QF here. Fast courts is good for him, he have great serve, strong shots and he is taller than opponent.
Damir Dzumhur - Player from Bosnia and Hercogovina who also reached a QF round here in last year. Damir is smaller player, but with decent serve and very nice movement, he is fast like bullet. One thing who made me chose russian is Damir health, in this year he is very fragile. Still he playing good, but mostly good on indoors, on hard court outside he have problems with all players.
In the end - Russian is taller, stronger and have better serve, also he needs points more than Damir, so i guess he will be more motivated and will show better tennis, than unhealthy Damir.

Let's talk about players :
Roberta Vinci (WTA 147) - Italian player anounnced she will be ending her career this year after Rome WTA tournament in spring. This tournament is one of the last for her so she want to show best tennis. If we talk about shape and motivation we will see that she is playing very good, every Q rounds in few tournaments this year she won easy, so i guess she will win here too.
Rodina Evgeniya (WTA 111) - Russian player who had few good runs in carreer, even reach late rounds of slams, but yet she is only 111 now and can't find herself on tour. Why? I dont know, she is out of shape, she looks slower and hard moving. Adventages of her is strong shots, strong serve and good mentallity of fighter.
In the end - Rodina looks out of shape, her tennis is pretty struggling at the moment, she need more flexibility and better movement. Vinci is going to end her carreer she have nothing to loose, yet she likes tennis, she plays tennis very good, she enjoys it.

Let's talk about players :
Fernando Verdasco (ATP 39) - Spanish player with Spanish tennis style, the second Nadal if we talk about left handed forehand or even not a second Nadal ... He is Verdasco and it is his style of play. We know how good spaniard can get, we remember how he made 100 forehand winners against Rafa in AO, that was amazing. So his forehand is most powerful gun, on fast courts he hits spinned ball with good trajectory so that always hard for others. Fernando have a good serve also, he is very fit. He wen't a little down in ranking, but he made quite good run in South america clay season, at this moment he is in good shape.
Pella Guido (ATP 60) - Impressive player from Argentina, not so long ago he won against spanish player in Buenos Aires, but on clay and at home he is very tough opponent. Pella isn't so tall, but he have very good serve, he is very fast and strong. I really like game play of Pella, he may be not the best player, but his movement and strong physical shape helps him to compete.
In the end - Anyway Fernando will want to make a revenge, Fernando is very good player on big tournaments, i guess he will win it in hard way, but in the end with his hard surface score he is bigger favorite here.

Dustin Brown (ATP 152) - After hard injury in France, where Dustin almost won match against Nicolas Mahut he missed many tournaments and only trained in private courts. Yet he played on challenger on clay and made some moves here, sadly he lost in first rounds at singles and doubles match. Talking about playing on clay Brown have strong serve that helps, strong shots and nice slice shots that helps a lot on clay, but he is very slow and moves bad.
Henri Laaksonen (ATP 143) - Swiss have very harsh start of the season, he can't find good tennis from last year, recently he droped out of top 100. I think player have to many injuries from last season and preparing for new season was not good enough. Henri have normal decent serve, he is quite fast, but his tehnique is at low level this time.
In the end - I guess Brown with injuries will take this win, he needs to win at least one match here.

Laurynas Grigelis (252) - Player from Lithuania, a second best there. Laurynas have some trophies, he even won Challenger, best place in rankings many years ago 183, now he is trying to make comeback. In past months he managed to show good tennis and went up to 252 position, last week he played in Davis cup but didn't play good enough, because of return problems, still he can win his serve. Lithuanian really like to play on all courts, he is playing good on indoors courts, his serve is really good.
Ito Tatsuma (ATP 155) - Japaneese player who really like this challenger he played four times here and reached final, QF. Still player is really problematic if we talk about injuries, i dont even remember when he played injury free. Still he trying to make comeback to top100 and he is getting there, but very slowly this tournament is important for him.
In the end - Lithuanian came here for a reason, it cost a lot to come here, so i guess he is ready for it, same goes for Ito, he will try to defend points, but he have some problems, i guess we will see over.

"I have always believed in myself and that is why I was able to make all my childhood dreams come true, but right now my confidence is not at the highest level"
Novak Djokovic admits his confidence has been rocked by a string of poor results after a premature return from elbow surgery.
The former world No 1 saw his latest comeback in Barcelona last week ended after one match as he was eliminated by qualifier Martin Klizan.
The 30-year old Serb conceded that the last 18 months have been testing but he has vowed to work hard to get back to winning ways.
"I have always believed in myself and that is why I was able to make all my childhood dreams come true, but right now my confidence is not at the highest level," he told reporters in Serbia, where he is preparing for the start of the French Open on May 21.
"That is not surprising given the lack of results and all I can do is knuckle down to hard work to restore it. A few good matches and one good tournament and it will come back."
Djokovic's slump began after he won his maiden French Open title in June 2016 to complete a career slam and amass 12 major honours.
A string of below-par performances were followed by Djokovic having to retire against Czech Tomas Berdych in last year's Wimbledon quarter-finals with an elbow injury which kept him sidelined until January's Australian Open.
After a last 16 defeat by South Korean upstart Hyeon Chung in Melbourne, Djokovic had another spell on the sidelines following elbow surgery and said he had come back too early because he was hungry to play again.

Serena Williams has risen from 153 to 28 position in the WTA Rankings after reaching the Wimbledon Final. This is her first time cracking top 30 since returning. What a fantastic achievement considering that she's already back to playing at such a high level after not playing that much tennis since making her return after missing pretty much a whole year last year and considering that she is 36 already. It's truly amazing how great she is as a tennis player and you'd expect her to go on and win a few more GS titles before she retires now
