The first night of the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 round is in the books, and Villanova, Oklahoma, Kansas and Oregon have punched their way through to this year's regional finals round. After a wild opening weekend full of upsets and buzzer beaters, the Sweet 16's opening night saw chalk prevail in all four games, none of which came down to the closing seconds. Nos. 1 Oregon and Kansas will meet Nos. 2 Oklahoma and Villanova, respectively, on Saturday night.

1. North Carolina is loaded ... so loaded that even on a bad night this team is still probably good enough to defeat any team in their path, even here in the Final Four. But this is also a weakness, considering the Tar Heels have let several teams stay close enough to ultimately pull an upset over the course of the season. Combine that with the shadow of NCAA sanctions hovering over the team, and what looks to be a title team in waiting has some issues hovering.
2. Syracuse is a perfect example of team that has gotten hot at the right time, and in the right place, being the NCAA Tournament. Easy to forget that Syracuse lost five of its last six games before the tournament began. The Orange have also benefited from not playing any teams with prolific firepower as they have won their four NCAA games by 75 points or less, and two by 68 or less. This will be the third ACC matchup between UNC and Syracuse and the Tar Heels won the previous two.
3. This tournament has been a coming-out party for Syracuse 6-6 freshman Malachi Richardson, including a 23-point, seven-rebound effort in the latest comeback victory over Virginia. He had not scored 20 points in a game since January but has now eclipsed that figure twice in the NCAA Tournament. He will need another stellar performance to help get Syracuse one step closer to a title appearance.
4. No matter what, with Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim coming off NCAA sanctions earlier this season plus North Carolina and coach Roy Williams under a NCAA sanction cloud at the moment, Monday's championship game will have one of these soiled coaches on the sidelines. It will not be the picture the NCAA wants at its marquee event of the season, but one the NCAA can't avoid.
March Madness 2016 wraps up with the Final Four this weekend, beginning with No. 1-seed North Carolina vs. No. 10-seed Syracuse on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. on TBS. Here are four things I think about the second semifinal matchup of the night.

Some coaches came out smelling like roses, while others will attempt to clean the egg off their faces for the next 12 months. One conference was the clear winner, and several others had horrendous showings in the Big Dance. A few players improved their draft stocks, but one Pirate may have gone down with his ship.
Heck, one team even ended up being a biggest winner and a biggest loser.
The tournament had a little bit of everything. Let's take a stroll down memory lane to recall the high and low points of the past few weeks.
