Keep track of your poker results. Its a good way to determine your overall success.Any player is capable of having a lucky night, and this probably means you got drawn out on.however, after say 50 sessions a pattern should begin to emerge.keep getting it in with the best of it and you should be a profiting player in the long haul.::
good and bad streaks and "your" reason for it.
I like to be aware of the big picture not by the $$$ won but where did I finish in the tournament (place/total). Each tournament has a different payout ratio and prize fund, so the $$$ won varies. When you make a list of these % placements, you can see patterns. When you finish poorly put a comment next to it, bad beat, bad move and just played poorly. Over time you can spot
good and bad streaks and "your" reason for it.
Keep track of the number of ITM Finishes.
Keep track of the number of Final Tables
Keep Track on ROI.

I their ranks are really bad the play very wide range mostly...
If their good then I try to avoid playing pots with them with marginal hands
I mostly check other players out, who play on same tournament...

I keep track of my results using simple Microsoft Works spreadsheets on my home computer that I transfer to Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets on my office PC. [The Works spreadsheets are nowhere near as powerful as Excel.] One per poker room so I can keep the bankrolls separate. . .
Tracks most of the pararneters of any game: buy-in, players per table, starting stacks, blind level intervals, how many started, how many are paid, total prize pool, where I finished, how much I won, etc. and calculates some other numbers like profit/loss and ROI. Someday I hope to find time to pull all this information together and do some analysis on it and see if I have a strength in any particular tournament set up to try to maximize results. . .

Decided to jump aboard the PokerTracker bandwagon. It tracks all those stats automatically! So far, I'm loving it.

Good Suggestion and nothing wrong with that as long as you don't use it as a crutch in other portions of your game.

Well, there might be alot to learn from keeping track. But i play so many differnt games and play them all differntly. Mine would not be a true read. But i am aware of the important games i do play and keep mental notes as to y or y not how well i did. Freerollbird p.s. i am still learning and just racking up my hand experience. I tend to learn by doing.
