I spoke with a number of friends on this subject and got several opinions naturally. When playing online and offered the choice of seat ,do you pick where you sit or do you sit wherever the computer puts you ? I sit in the same seat if i have the option but only because its convenient being close to the check ,fold box etc. Some say its their lucky number .Picking gives them the option of not ending up in the unlucky seat, superstition i guess. Whats your reality or superstition ?

It's not superstition, but I do pick the same seat at every table, yes: something close to the bottom center of the table. It's the only way I can easily keep track of where I am at any time when I am multi-tabling. Nothing to do with ritual or superstition, just common sense to avoid making mistakes. . .

I keep the same seat ... I might be in more than one game or site at a time and it is easier to manage.
It matters not or does it.
All my tables are positioned so I am sitting on the bottom center of course.
Is there any other spot.

A Seat is a Seat.

I like to sit next to the dealer...I play footsies with them in hopes they slip me a "A"
Lol
I always sit at the bottom centre (or just to the right) too but as SycoSteve said, it's not superstition it's just common sense, if you have more than one table open, to not have to FIND your hole cards every time :thumbsup

In a ring game if I have watched for a while, I want to be to the left of the chip leader. That way I have a better position on them. Then I also have the site options set to position me at the bottom, which is done automatically. In a live tourney I try and sit to the left of the most aggressive player if I have played with them in the past. Good question. X
As X so correctly points out, ring games are a different matter than MTTs or SnGs where you basically don't have a choice of who you are seated between, only where you can display yourself on your table screen. In ring games you can and should exercise your right to select your seat -- even if it means waiting -- in order to maximize profits. Or at least one hopes to. . .

Actually this cool because i had never thought about the differences in seating to the type of game im playing.see you can teach an old dog new tricks.Hmmm i guess that could be a whole new thread, does it matter what seat your in opposed to position..? Hmmmmm
