Have to say...i have noticed this b4
when u see a player thats just lost a big stack and is on tilt it's always a good time to get chips
i was playing tonight and a guy lost about 7k out of his 10k stack
next hand i had someting like Q10 but had a fair idea he would shove regardless..so i raised about 4 bb to 1600
of course he shoved....i called
he had 3 6 suited....no joy for him
i got 2 pair and won well
my point is watch for tilting players in tourneys .....they will shove with nothing for some reason
lesson to learn here! calm down if you are tilting STOP and THINK....there is a way back
also if villian shove on tilt MIGHT be worth a call!
Yeah, that's not terribly unusual especially if it's getting late in a tournament. Once they lose a good portion of their stack -- and maybe become a short or near short stack -- they just take their shot at doubling with any 2 cards 'cause they're basically giving up but can't bring themselves to either rebuild or just sit out. If you've got them well covered it might be worth trying to pick up the rest of their chips. But beware, sometimes hands come in runs and Mr./Ms. Tilt might just catch a big enough hand after the one that set them off. . .[/FONT]

Good advice from steve. Your Blog is not very specific about a lot of things but your hand was pretty weak too. Not always a good idea to "assume" a player is on tilt just because he lost a big chunk late. I play pretty good short stack poker and will use that "I am on tilt" stratagy too get that sucker call next premium hand I get.
yup probably did need to add more info...
it was late in the tourney...he / she was playing pretty loose anyway
yes my hand was weak but from the way they had been playing I guessed that they would shove with absolutely anything...
i know it doesn't always work out but i though was making a good read in the situation and it worked out i was! lucky for me.
my chip stack was big enough too hold on even if i had lost (winning helped - of course)
also my point was also to advise people to try not to shove all in when tilting, it's a hard thing not to do - but even when tilting patience is the key
thx for the response anyway

I am immediately rewarded with a premium starting hand
which seems good but could be bad
I bet it premiumly & look as if I am on tilt
so I get called or raised from a big stack w/ nothing
I know I am a favorite going in
it is just the bad coin flip, I hate
I would rather not get that premium starting hand, right after a hard hit
