There’s a Women in Poker Hall of Fame now, and its first members will be inducted next month at an awards ceremony.

The first annual induction ceremony will be held Feb. 2 at Binion’s Casino in Las Vegas, where four women will be celebrated for their “excellence, contribution and performance:” Marsha Waggoner, Barbara Enright, Susie Isaacs, and Linda Johnson. Barbara Enright was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame last year.

The nominees are in for the 2010 Women In Poker Hall of Fame induction.

This year’s World Series of Poker seems to be a bit more focused on women players than normal, and not necessarily in a good way. Annette Obrestad, arguably one of the best young women players to come along in recent years, flat out said that women players “suck”, Annie Duke repeated herself that she doesn’t think there should be a separate event for women at the WSOP, and that very event was invaded by ten guys, one in drag.

Following all of that comes the naming of seven influential women as 2010 nominees for induction into the Women In Poker Hall of Fame.

Only two will be chosen, but here are the seven to chose from; the list includes some big name pros.

Annie Duke
Jennifer Harman
Kathy Liebert
Joanne “J.J.” Liu
Phyllis Caro
Nani Dollison
Betty Carey
