Among an unofficial second-day field of 1,546 players at the World Series of Poker’s main event Saturday were a handful who became millionaires by making it to the final table last year. (Many said they continued to play, but most hadn’t quit their day jobs or spent money on expensive things).

Yeah its amazing how poker can change your life so dramatically, I guess thats what the draw is (excuse the pun) My uncle last year went into a casino to entertain some clients of his on a night out and walked out with £15000 in his sky rocket.. "I was just guessing" he said

Your uncle has some excellent guessing skills there. Very nice evening for him.

I am still trying to learn how to play poker because all of the money that i see people win on those gaming shows is ridiculous. Now poker takes skill, more skill than most people have any idea about.

It's great to hear of those success stories. I can see why poker's becoming more popular with the games for the huge jackpots being televised.

I guess that some people lose out pretty badly, too. Hopefully they can afford it. :crying

Playing poker can change your life to the point where you could become a billionaire ok ok maybe not a billionaire but a millionaire. I have seen people earn some major money just by learning the basics.

If I had time to learn, I would let it change my life as well but I don't have time. I have also seen people. More that 34 people have won 1 million dollars in the year 2005 in tournaments. Josoph Hachem is the biggest winner.

I have seen my father, who is a pro; win over 50,000 dollars just playing poker. Thats all he does. Its his way of making a living. I wish I could that, to be able to play something you like and make big money, is great.

I really don't like watching those types of shows because they make me depressed. I hate to see money that isn't mine or even close to getting.

It's like having control over the lottery. If you play your cards right you can win the pot. It cant get any better than that.

A little bit. If I could learn to play well enough to win at least 500 bucks, I would good to go. It such an easy way to earn money.
