We need to change the current path, where the prohibition of Internet gambling allows for billions of dollars to be lost in an underground, uncontrolled marketplace ripe for criminal exploitation.
Thanks for the article - manne :thumbsup

Thanks mike!
It's time to legalize online gambling!! We have gambling on horses. All of a sudden we say you can't gamble online. What's that about😟
If we can take revenue from horse racing we certainly can take revenue from online gambling!!
Thinks will change 😄

“Starved Budgets Inspire New Look at Web Gambling” (front page, Aug. 14) provides further evidence that existing laws addressing online gambling are insufficient and that Congress needs to create a federal framework to regulate the activity.
What you described as the current “murky legal arena” prevents states and the federal government from protecting consumers who want to play and from cutting deficits with the revenues due from operators and from gamblers on winnings.
Bipartisan legislation has already been introduced in the House of Representatives to regulate and tax online gambling nationally and provide critical consumer safeguards. These bills would create a licensing process for operators and generate much-needed money for states and the federal government.
Inaction is not an option; Congress must take steps to clarify online gambling laws this year.
