I didn't tell many ppl here that i was having surgery Friday April 2nd cause i didn't want the extra fuss or well wishes. It woulda just added to my own stress levels leading to the surgery.
The roughest part was getting the IV line in. took about 5 tries from several nurses. My father and I both have veins that like to exploded as soon as a needle hits it. Finally in my left wrist they got it to stay put!
I was having a double surgery. My gallbladder was to be removed and since that is done by laproscopy I got my Gyn to work with the general surgeon to laser off my endometriosis at the same time. When I asked them to do this together I never thought they would just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. But the Gyn didn't have surgical privileges at the Ionia hospital, but the gave her the OK to do this.
Now, as it turns out she the privilege to do these at their hospital from now on. So her other and future Ionia patients wont have to travel the 30 miles to her other hospital
The surgery has left me very sore, even more today than yesterday. I woke up last evening from a "vicodin nap" and forgot about the surgery and moved rather quickly and my tummy held at me... i haven't don't that again...lol
Rob and the kids are doing a very good job taking care of me My 6 year old and I were first up this morning and since he cant make coffee he brought me a coke, pills and my laptop. He is such a good helper. Bu after 45 minutes I had to have him wake his dad because the patient needs coffee.... lol
Welcome: back. . .
Always good to hear that one comes out of any kind of surgery in good shape -- hopefully coming out better than they went in. . .

Poker is good therapy. My wife suffered a stroke two years ago and lost all sensation and use in her right hand. Online poker offered her a distraction as well as physical therapy everyday forcing her to use that hand to click the mouse. After 6 months she has full use and sensation. A year later the use of a cane to walk was also lifted. She has fully recovered. I don't know that poker was the cure but it did help. Hope you feel better soon. All the best to you.
Im glad your wife is on her way to a great recovery. A stroke can be hard to recover from. Im sure that the repetitive movements of the mouse was a good instrument in her recovery.
Wish you a speedy recovery :thumbsup
