I downloaded FF because IE8 was a slow loading pig.
Fire fox is a slow loading pig, now.

I found a cure that has turned a loading time from 30 - 40 seconds (sometimes to the point where I had forgot about trying to load it) to 2 - 3 seconds.

XP Pro Solution: for FF version 3.6.8
Right-click Icon, select Properties
click Compatibility Tab
In Compatibility section
check RUN this program in compatibility mode for:
Select Windows 2000
click OK

works for me, so far, if not for you, you can undo what you changed. UN-check RUN this program.

I will have to see if this will work for me. I am constantly frustrated with how long FF takes to load. Thanks for the tip. . . :thumbsup

Speed up whatever process you want:

If using windows XP press and hold the ctrl + alt + delete keys.

A window will popup showing all the programs that are running on your desktop and in the background. You can delete a lot of them that you're not using but only if you recognize them because a lot of the processes are needed by your machine to function. But a lot are just running in the background wasting your memory.

Anyways, find the firefox.exe, right click it under the processes menu, set it's priotity to Realtime and you'll see the speed increases a lot.
