This past Thursday the Global Gaming Expo took place in Las Vegas and a former Senator, Alfonse D’Amato, who is the chairman of the Poker Players’ Alliance, stated that he believes the legalization of online gambling in the United States will happen within the next 18 months. 😉

The laws are confusing and haven't stopped 10 million Americans from wagering online.

British Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform’s attempts to influence US policy towards regulation with the hope that it may lead to the reopening of the world’s most lucrative online gambling market.

U.S. drop the anti-online gambling law

Betting establishments in EU countries would love to return legally to the US market and see the inconsistency in the US law as a handy wedge to force the US to back down.

The appeal of gambling online continues to grow worldwide, and the most logical reaction of government is to tax the hobby and enjoy a steady new revenue source, rather than waste funds fighting a battle that is unwinnable.

The ban on Internet gambling infringes upon two freedoms that are important to many Americans: the ability to do with their money as they see fit, and the freedom from government interference with the Internet!

(I believe strongly that the internet should not be regulated by the federal government and believes even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions).

There's a new bill in Congress to stop UIGEA, but it is still a working progress ....Americans will enjoy legal Internet gambling very soon I think!!

Despite the ban - by some estimates, there are approximately 1,000,000 people gambling online at any given moment. Until the ban is fully implemented or someone comes up with a compromise the government will accept, the Internet poker world will try to come up with ways to continue to serve its poker players.....

The internationally respected US business and financial publication the Wall Street Journal appears to approve of the idea of regulated and licensed online gambling in an op-ed article this week. :thumbsup

The politicians keep sticking their noses into what Americans do in the privacy of their own homes. It's about time that they decide to regulate the gambling industry, so that people can play without any worries.
