Kentucky attempt to seize 141 online gambling sites

Reply Subscribe
Following what would have been a major setback to online gambling sites in the USA, the Poker Players Alliance breathed a sigh of relief. The Kentucky Commonwealth had earlier staunchly supported a measure that called for the state seizure of 141 domain names of illegal online gambling sites. The forfeiture of these sites to the state of Kentucky was on the cards, until Judge Thomas Wingate had his say.

The domain names will be retained by their owners!

The Internet Gaming and Media Association has released its Motion to Dismiss to the media on Friday responding to Kentucky's attempt at seizing various online gambling domain names.

Among the arguments being made by iMEGA.org, subject matter jurisdiction cannot be established because the subject domain names are not the property of the commonwealth of Kentucky.
