I have to say Goggle isn't going anywhere. Having a good friend who works for google and hearing inside stories. They will be around for a long time. The internet is just going to get busier and busier. There are bound to be problems. I would be more worried if something never went wrong.
Google has bought and continues to buy more and more and improvements will always come. Just look at Microsoft. It's one of the biggest pieces of crap around and is still going strong.

I feel Google would continue to dominate search market for the next coming years and really it would be a big challenge for Microsoft to defeat Google in internet space.

If you are a developer you have the ability to create change, start a new search engine, get it up and running and watch it blossom....... Google is a cash cow and at some point will not be able to protect itself from the onslot of hackers trying to bring it down!
