Facebook Bans Online Gambling

Facebook is blocking specific content from advertising on their site. These guidelines include among other subjects, online gambling.

Among the long list of prohibited content is a section code that disallows “gambling, including without limitation, any online casino, sports books, bingo, or poker.” While the internet business of online gambling is thriving, Facebook wants no part of the industry.

So i guess groups like betsson on facebook will cease to exist.. that`s bad in my opinion cause the way in which you`d participate in one of the events they made was great.. clicking "attending" you would receive the password 10 minutes before and u would know aproximately how many people will be playing in the tourney :-s

What a joke......seriously, why? I wonder when we are allowed to be adults and make our own choices? Why do they feel they need to do our thinking for us. my lord.....there are families out there who struggle daily just to get by....how about putting there effort there instead of dealing with things that should be left to personal choice.

Seems like everyone, Facebook, Congress are trying to tell us what's moral and what's not. I'm not 3 yrs. old let me make up my own mind.
Take care

That's may be true. But I've seen many online casino and online slot groups on Facebook. Also, there are plenty of casino related applications that allow players to play for fun. Perhaps, now they are not accepting as few of the members said.

Facebook is pretty big by now. Although they might wind up excluding a bunch of poker forums, it's just a drop in the bucket to them.

Was going to edit my last post, but got stung by the 'you can't edit your post after 2 minutes have gone by rule'. So here's what I was going to say, which is now another post: I like Facebook's 'My Poker Hand' app which is an Absolute Poker ad, basically. I've won $ several times for my bankroll there, guess that will go by the wayside. Not good...

Not surprising. They were eager to take the gambling industries ad money when they were a fledling company needing the revenue. Now they don't need it to survive..........kick us to the curb. Typical politics.

I think this news is not really true, or at least Facebook do not run this so far.

I know that almost every poker room have a Facebook page runing there until today.

This last thursday i play in a PKR $500 freeroll, the pw was released in FB.

Pokerheaven, 32 red, both still send me private messages with the last news in they sites.

Cake, Fulltilt, Carbon, Absolute, all still running the facebook pages.

Quite rightly, this news is incorrect as till date I see a lot of fan pages (which I have joined) and groups as well at FB. It was a rumor.
