Condoms Found in McDonald's Happy Meals Instead

If you’re a parent who hasn’t quite managed to have a conversation with your kids about safe sex, then you’ll be happy to know that now you can rely on McDonald’s to take the first step for you. Well, actually not, but a funny story about a group of kids who while enjoying their Happy Meals discovered that their toy surprise was some kind of funny looking balloon …. a condom to be exact.

So it seems that there was a shipment of condoms intended for the Provincetown, Mass., school system that was accidentally switched and ended up in a McDonald’s toy distribution center in Barnstable, Mass. According to Shine from Yahoo, the unfortunate mix-up lead to a really fun kids party in a Provincetown McDonald’s where 8-year-olds received condoms in their Happy Meals instead of their Airbender toy.

So how did the toy distribution center not know the difference between a condom and a toy? Well, it seems there was some type of language barrier involved that led to this happening, according to the McDonald’s VP of public relations.

"The packages were so bright and colorful that they were misled by small toys for Happy Meals, but unfortunately most of the workers who do not read English package and thought 'Ribbed Latex' was a character in the movie," said Robin Anderson.

So while the there may have been a language barrier, I do find it hard to believe no one there knew what a condom looked like. Well, if you really think about it this may just come down to someone in the post office having a really good sense of humor. 😄
