Of course, I've even won a couple. Any game with luck involved allows lesser skilled players to beat better players. A better player needs less luck to beat a lesser player. But anything can happen when luck is involved.

Yes, it happens all the time. The biggest difference is that when bad players win it's not always the same ones winning. As opposed to good players where you see the same ones at final tables over and over again.

As juan has implied, a bad poker player will not be able to repeat his "success" repeatedly. He may luck into a win here or there. But the good, solid players you will see over and over again deep in tournaments and at final tables. Luck will only take you so far so often. . .

They most certainly can. I have witnessed and been a vicitim of this. Usually occurs when a BAD PLAYER makes a BAD PLAY and hits the ULTIMATE SUCK OUT..

It is sad but true
Fortunately the odds of it happening a 2nd time are astronomical

When I first started playing poker on-line I figured it was 90% luck......I came in second and won $12.00 in one of my first tournaments. I remember it well because I would go all in with anything suited........And...it worked😡!

But as time went on, I quickly realized that where as luck is needed from time to time to win, you cannot be a good player without learning how to play the game.

Sure, I'm a perfect example. And if a bad player gets on a run and builds up a chip stack, I think it influences the other players at the table, who take risks (all-ins) that they normally would not take, in hopes the the bad player's "luck" will run out.

Chris Moneymaker prooved it. That an average guy with average skill could win the WSOP main event. After that the game was never going to be the same. The number of ametures and wannabees has swelled the ranks and the bankrolls of poker all over the world. Phil Helmuth's famous line "if it wasn't for luck, I'd win all of them" is why they keep coming en masse. They know they can get lucky and become rich and famous. Ain't poker great!
