Well I heard this today from my wife that works as a money manager at Carolina First Bank and she said that they where disputing the online gambling act in the USA. She said she would know more tomorrow so I will post when I hear more. But if they are doing it all the others will be too.πŸ˜”

I thought I heard/read that Dec. 1, 2009 was the drop-dead date for banks to comply with the laws prohibiting them from dealing with gambling sites, so not surprised. Need to get Barney Frank & his friends off their @$$es and get some of their bills passed. . .:helpme

Been a part of the PPA and it doesn't look good either way you look at it. I would have thought with the amount of money involved that it would float without issue. I mean our government officials "in they're glorious wisdom" want all the revenue they can get funnelled through. Gambling is not only associated to online poker.

About this Dec. 1st thing ,,,,I'm getting most of my money off the sites,,,, leaving a little on each to play with tho,,,I'm a vet,,, and I sure as hell didn't serve this country, to have my goverment tell me how and where I could spend my money,,, if they would worry more about the state of the country, instead of " MORAL ISSUES" we all would be better off.
Thanks for the rant,
Take care

My wife is a manager for National City Bank(bought by PNC Bank) here in Florida and she said that her bank is not supporting on-line poker accounts either. Basically it means the feds will be in their system all the time auditing customers and their accounts.

Yep it is all over for us again man why does it have to be like this? I like what wagon596 said his statement really hit home (+rep for you). It is are right to spend our money how and where we want to but the feds are always going to shut us down when they can.

As my wife has stated, if the players started paying their taxes on their winnings then the feds/government would be more slacked, but some people are washing illegal funds threw the poker system...not good for our reputation

We are suppose to pay taxes on it, but most don't. Basically a tax-free income right now for some. The Feds will keep freezing players bank accounts as long as they keep avoiding the tax issue. If I was making $100,000.00 a year from on-line poker or even $50,000.00 a year, I would be more then happy to pay taxes on that.

Well....I don't know anyone making that kind of payout. The sticking point is that "why are we paying a government that has done nothing on their end?" I could understand this more if they weren't doing less. "Taxation without representation" has a whole new meaning to it now.

Hmmm....that is pretty interesting to hear about Bodog. Do they accept american players? Carbon poker is crazy with their check withdrawls. 15.00 per check twice a week max. It gets sent by regular mail and takes 6-8 weeks to get to you from the day you request the withdrawl.
