Avoding addiction

Looking at the growing trend of poker and casino, more people are looking to invest their money and expecting quick returns from this unpredictable game. A person having little knowledge tends to jump into this arena and then loose their precious money because of their impatience or lack of skills. Is there something that should be taught before one jump to casino and poker?

Casinos and poker rooms are working hard for their marketing and publicity but I fear that they are not informing people about what “responsible gambling” is. It is their responsibility as number of people are constantly getting attracted towards this game. I feel that casinos and poker rooms should also project themselves as a option to make career in as well.

Nowadays gambling is a business meant for entertainment and leisure activities. The main purpose behind every business is to make profit. That is why government is regulating gambling by amending existing laws and even passing the new ones. But if we want gambling as a mode of entertainment, not as an addictive disease, we definitely need to cooperate with government and gambling platforms to make this happen.

A person should be addicted in a positive manner that is greedy to learn more and to be a better player all the time. Addiction is a wrong way, like you are playing to make up for the prior losses and ignoring the fact that you need work upon on your skills, is very harmful.
We need to have good platforms where we could aware ourselves and others regarding various aspects of gambling.

I completely agree that lack of information about correct online platforms along with player's responsibilities and rights might lead beginners to incorrect paths where they might end up being cheated. For inexperienced, I would recommend Articles,General as it features a wide range of articles and tips about different aspects of online casinos.

I have been clean and sober coming up on 21 years,,,I quit smoking cigarettes 3 years ago after 45 years. Most people would say that yes I'm addicted to poker. Maybe I am. I play several hours a day but I'm disabled and poker helps me get through the day. The main thing tho, is I play nothing but micro stakes and SNG's. I get $900 a month from my disabilty. I just grind it out, and average about $100 a month every month. I've never had a losing month,(" knock on wood"). I know most people would laugh at a 100 dollars a month, but it's over 10% of my monthly income.. I have fun, get to socialize and make a little profit. So if I'm addicited, I would say in a good way. People tell me to up my limits and I say noway, I'm happy where I'm at.
Take care Ya'll
