Reports coming out of the RIA Novosti news agency are telling the story about five more online casinos in Russia being shut down which brings the total to more than 170 gambling sites since January 2011. Las Vegas is the first choice of Americans when planning a gambling trip and their second choice is pretty much a toss up between Atlantic City and New Orleans, according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University Public Mind poll made public Monday.

Forty-seven percent of adults nationwide list Las Vegas as their top choice while fewer would make New Orleans (10 percent) or Atlantic City (8 percent) their first choice. Reno (5 percent) and St. Louis (4 percent) round out the list.

Atlantic City does much better as a second choice but not any better than other picks.

Asked for their second choice, Atlantic City garners 23 percent, statistically the same as New Orleans (22 percent) and Las Vegas (21 percent), while Reno jumps up to 18 percent. The only city that doesn’t do well in a second round is St. Louis (5 percent), home of riverfront gambling.

“Atlantic City is really in a national, if not international, competition for visitors,” Prof. Donald Hoover, of FDU’s International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, said. He joined FDU after a career working for Tropicana in Atlantic City. “Businesses and planners need to start thinking and acting like they’re in a national market.”

Those who pick Atlantic City first or second tend to say its best characteristic is the beach (26 percent), followed distantly by the casinos (11 percent). They also suggest it is someplace new to go (8 percent), and some cite the entertainment (6 percent).

As for those who do not pick Atlantic City either as a first or a second choice, their reasons are scattered. One in 10 (11 percent) simply say they, “like other destinations better” and one in ten (10 percent) say “it’s too far.” One in four (24 percent) don’t give a reason.

“The fact that people don’t offer a clear response as to why they do not choose Atlantic City as a destination is really good news,” Hoover said. “It suggests that Atlantic City still has the opportunity to create a positive image.”

Just 4 percent say the city is dirty or run down and just 3 percent say it’s because they don’t like New Jersey.

The good news for Atlantic City is that among residents of the Northeastern states, it places a strong second behind Las Vegas: 22 percent compared to 39 percent for Las Vegas. But outside the Northeast, Atlantic City drops into single digits as a first choice.

As a second-choice destination Atlantic City does well in the Northeast with 25 percent, but it does best in the West where, on the other side of the Rocky Mountains, 30 percent make the city a second pick.

“For years, Atlantic City has been scouring the nearest backyards for customers,” Hoover added. “It’s time the city reached a lot further.”

The FDU poll of 711 adults nationwide was conducted by telephone from March 21 through 27 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Nine months after efforts to bring casino gambling to Massachusetts collapsed amid disagreement over slot machines at racetracks, discussion of expanded gaming resumed at the Statehouse with no immediate indication that compromise between top state leaders was close at hand.

A legislative committee heard several hours of testimony from a range of gambling supporters and opponents, including state officials, legislators, union leaders, racetrack owners, tribal officials and recovering gambling addicts.

Gov. Deval Patrick refused to sign legislation last summer that would have authorized three resort-style casinos in Massachusetts because the bill would have also allowed slot machines at two of the state's racetracks. House Speaker Robert DeLeo, who has two tracks in his district, had insisted on the so-called "racinos" as part of any final bill.

Recent discussions between Patrick and DeLeo do not appear to have broken the impasse, and Patrick has repeatedly said that casinos are not among his top priorities for the current legislative session.

Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Gregory Bialecki said at Wednesday's hearing that Patrick still supported three competitively bid "destination" casinos and believed that potential developers could raise the money needed to build the facilities.

Bialecki said in his prepared testimony that Massachusetts should be looking to recapture revenue that flows out of state when residents go elsewhere to gamble.

"This means that whatever is built should seek to be equal to or better than the gaming and leisure options available in other New England states, particularly in Connecticut," he said.

Rhode Island has two slot parlors and Maine voters recently approved a casino in Oxford County.

Patrick is concerned that slot parlors would draw customers away from resort casinos and also objects to them being awarded solely to racetracks without a competitive bidding process.

Gary Piontkowski, chief executive of the Plainridge harness racecourse in Plainville, said the racing industry deserves to be considered for expanded gaming and chided the governor on his "no bid" stance.

"If someone wants to come in and bid on a racino or a casino, no problem," Piontkowski said. "Invest $40 million like we did, build a racetrack, put 1,600 (people) on your payroll and then bid against us."

The hearing brought out residents of communities that have been mentioned as potential locations for casinos, such as the central Massachusetts town of Palmer, and representatives of the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe, who are seeking a casino on tribal land.

Union leaders also touted the job creation potential of casinos. About two dozen ironworkers lined Beacon Street in front of the Statehouse before the hearing to urge lawmakers to support expanded gaming.

Casinos could generate some 20,000 temporary construction and permanent, good-paying jobs in Massachusetts, said Paul Lynch, business agent for Local 7 Iron Workers.

But familiar concerns about the possible social consequences of casino gambling were also raised Wednesday.

"I'm opposed to an industry which depends on addiction for its profits," said former state Sen. Susan Tucker, an Andover Democrat who has been a vocal critic of casinos. "And I'm opposed to our state government partnering with an industry that causes human misery and destroys families."

Two people who said they were recovering gambling addicts spoke about how casinos had ravaged their lives.

One of them, a Lynn woman who identified herself only as Karen S., said she fell into severe debt after frequent visits to Connecticut casinos and eventually served time in federal prison after stealing money from her employer.

"I lost everything because of gambling," she said.

Attorney General Martha Coakley repeated her view that if Massachusetts approved expanded gambling, it must be accompanied by stringent regulations and new safeguards to protect against organized crime interests getting a foothold. She repeated her call for stronger laws against money laundering and expanding the range of crimes that could be investigated through wiretaps.

Hi dear fellow members. Today I am going to share a casino site with you which has some great odds of winning.

How to win there by Playing Roulete:

While playing roulette, I found many strategies but most of them made me loose. I developed a strategy with the help of my friend which works most of the time. There are six boxes with six numbers each i.e 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-30 and 30-36.

What I do is that as I load the game, I first spin it without any bet. What ever the number comes, I check its box. Say if it appears in 6th box(i.e from 31 to 36), I bet on first five boxes with equal bets. Say I have 5$ so I bet $1 on each of the first 5 boxes. Mostly, we win for the first time. After winning, I then have 6$ and then I bet on the same first five boxes again but this time with 1.2$ each. After winning again, I then have 7.2$ so I bet 1.44$ on the first five boxes and when I win it again, I have around 8.64$ so I finally bet 1.72$ on each of the first five boxes. and if I win it, I just get out. Totally it becomes 10.36$.

As soon as I double it, I get out and then come back after some time. If I loose during any of the four consecutive bets, I loose just 5$ of my own but there are high odds that we win 4 times consecutively. As I loose, I just deposit the same amount and then try again. Finally i end up at least recovering my lost money and then get out.

I have even tried this technique with 10$ means $2 bet on each box and I was even able to double it just after betting 4 times.

If some one wants to try initially, I would recommend him to try with 2.5$ initially. If he wins four times consecutively, just get his investment out and play with the rest of profit or else withdraw it too. Just follow the strategy and it seriously works.


I make some money daily with the above mentioned strategy and till now I have been successful. If I loose anyway in the mid of the four consecutive bets, I just deposit the same amount and try again and mostly win the second time. Keep in mind that don't play American Roullete as there are 2 blocks for zeroes which makes the chances less for winning as compared to classic roullete.


Following are my few deposits and withdrawals after playing roullete:






First I deposited $ $1.97 and lost them. Then 4.9$ and made around 9.8$. I withdraw $5 and then tried the same strategy again but lost in the mid of the four consecutive bets. Then deposited $3 and withdrawn $4. Then deposited $5 and withdrawn $15. Again withdrawn $2. Then deposited 5 and again 5 and was able to withdraw $10 back.

If you count it totally, I made around 11$ this way.

This move is a solid bet on legalized online gaming by IGT and their preparation for the future. Entraction Holding AB operates a large online poker network as well as supplying various supplies and gaming products to the online gambling industry.

Entraction Holding AB was established in the year 2000 out of Stockholm and has established itself as the 12th largest internet poker company and the third largest ‘independent’ network of poker online. Over 4 million registered players visit their sites daily which includes up to 60 online gaming sites. Offering poker, bingo, casino and sports betting, Entraction Holding AB brought in over 56 million in revenue for 2010. By acquiring this lucrative European company IGT has put themselves right into the middle of the online gaming industry and has given them the ‘foot in the door’ that will be needed once the country opens up to legalized online gaming.

Being praised on Wall Street this week for taking the initiative that no other slot machine company has done so far, and that’s to ready themselves for a new market that will bring considerable revenue into the country. Analysts have said that Internet Poker will bring in over $6 billion a year in revenue and that’s not counting bingo, casino or sports book revenues!

Big names in the industry have all had their say on this purchase by IGT and the feedback is all-good. By taking this deal, IGT has made a bet on the US market opening up and if correct would be a very good deal. JP Morgan Analyst Joe Greff was also quoted as saying that the purchase gives IGT the leg up in the internet gaming space. The push for legalization in the US is still strong, so this acquisition makes sense. It allows IGT to immediately grow into a position that will solidify their place in the market.

Atlantic City officially jumped into the 21st Century with the opening of its first, permanent gay nightclub. "Prohibition" opened Thursday with a glamorous party full of VIP attendees dancing to the latest club hits.

Situated in the Resort Casino and Hotel, "Prohibition" is geared to attract gay gamblers from the surrounding super-metropolitan areas of New York and Philadelphia. The gay segment of the population is well represented in leisure activity purchases and as such have long been sought after by the casino market. Gamblers in Iowa can light up once they hit the casino floor.

Now some Illinois lawmakers are considering an exemption to the state's "no smoking" law to once again allow gamblers to smoke.

Lawmakers in favor of the move say that allowing smoking would help keep gamblers from jumping the border and spending their hard-earned cash in neighboring states.

"We live about 20 minutes from Victoria. We do all our gambling in Indiana or Iowa," said Tom Scholz, an Illinois resident.

Iowa casinos saw a rise in gambling revenue when Illinois casinos went smoke-free in 2008.

Some gamblers we spoke with are in favor of the move while others think smoking isn't the way to go.

"Second-hand smoke I've heard is just as bad as smoking," said one gambler.

Another said, "No. No smoking. No smoking anywhere, at anytime."

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says he's firmly against any type of exemption to allow smoking in Illinois casinos.

The measure is being debated by an Illinois Senate subcommittee.
